As a middle school clarinetist, I currently play Bb clarinet, and wish to convert to Alto in high school. This is a great piece and example of the beautiful tone the alto holds. Very beautiful
Bro, this song is very cool. It has a slight sense of epicity, but at the same time it is heartwarming. It instantly became the hero song on my dnd table. keep it up, your work is amazing!
It's beautiful, never a lacklustre piece from you Luke. I love music and I've always wanted to learn an instrument, you are my inspiration to take lessons and play, so thank you for endlessly giving us these amazing pieces
Beautiful! I've never understood why alto clarinet is so comparatively underused, more so even than bass clarinet, which I also love. I love your work, dude. Keep 'em coming!
Really nice! I'll never understand why the alto clarinet has such a bad reputation among band directors and many wind band composers, as it's such a beautiful instrument!
Composers seem to have defaulted into duplicating other instruments when they write alto clarinet parts so they are essentially redundant even if you can talk someone into playing the instrument. When people do play the instrument they seem to play it extremely quietly so as not to be heard (can't get into trouble that way). I play in a community band and the director likes flutes and trumpets, everything else is extraneous fluff to her. It isn't much fun unless you are a flute or trumpet player.
It's really nice to see self composers using real instruments in their pieces. Lots of things this day are mostly composed digitally. It's also nice to see an alto clarinet, as it is becoming increasingly rare
this is amaziung. its like sitting in a meadows with sunflowers surrounding you and the sun i sshining and you are on a big hill with a village below you and you are laughing with your lover holding hands in the tulips, daisys, and rosies. beautiful dude wow u rock.
I have a Bb clarinet, An alto clarinet, and a bass clarinet which I play most of the time. It’s nice to see the alto get some recognition. Keep up the great work!
TH-cam randomly suggested your video and it was like a warming hug to my soul after a tiring week. Plus clarinet being the only instrument I can play myself, this sound brought me to a safe childhood place.
As a clarinet player, thank you. People tend to overlook the alto even though it's the most universal of them. Don't get me wrong I love my Bflat and contra and would fight for them.
i discovered your channel with "my mix recomendations" and this has been my favorite piece of yours, like, i REALLY love this song, i listen to it almost everyday when i'm working, making me remember some adventures i had when i was a kid on some beautiful fields and mountains, and the DnD sessions i had with my friends. This is such a beautiful piece, thank you for making this and making me relive those beautiful moments again ❤
I realized just now that I never commented when this first came out, but I really really like this piece! I love video game style music and this is a perfect fit for that kind of style while also feeling like its own thing, it flows very nicely and its always a joy to listen to your music!
I love the sounds of every clarinet type to exist, including alto (when played correctly, of course). Exquisite tones and melodies! Side note: this sounds like it would fit in the Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.
As someone that played Alto-clarinet in Middle school and high school this brought back what made me fall in love with the instrument so well. Thank you for making this.
Эта композиция звучит просто прекрасно, навряд ли вы читаете русские комментарии, но твоя работа воистину впечатляет и я, как и многие другие тобой восхищён
translation - This composition sounds just fine, it is unlikely that you read Russian comments, but your work is truly impressive and I, like many others, admire you
This has the markings of either the main menu theme of a grand RPG, or as the intro song that plays when the title of the game rolls by; followed by a reprise at the end of the game, bringing the experience full circle.
It seems no matter what you play, you just keep managing to tear me up. The love you have for what you do, the passion and sheer joy can be heard in every single note you play. Just keep doing what you'll love and thanks for sharing that with us! ^-^
I suddenly fell in love, how is this possible? from the very beginning of the song, and then the violins... this is not "Outer fields" this is out of the whole universe. ♥
Just when i thought this guy couldnt get any more talented... You're telling me that this is a composition by him? I am blown away at how catchy and energetic this sounds!
Man this is really good, great composing... I dunno why it took me this long to listen to it... This is really epic and realxing. Keep up the Amazing Work.
hello bro, i'm not sure if you're american or native, i'm not native, but i'm almost sure that we talk "playing instruments". I'm not wanting to shame you in anyway, we all need to learn.
I really like this piece! I've only heard it once, but it feels like it's always been there with me. I'll be listening to this for about a thousand times if anyone needs me.
Oh this is definitely giving off the vibe of a grand adventure, setting off into the wilds across rolling sunlit fields into the distant forest or down a trail to some great quest beyond. Absolutely adore this!
Yesss! I remember when you got the alto and played this in the video! It's what made me fall in love with alto clarinet! So glad to see it make a return!
That was one of the best music i've heard in a while. I love the sound of alto clarinet and more people should play it n hv solos for it. It's an amazing instrument, you wrote an amazing piece for it and played it amazingly.
Such an amazing composition with the feeling of adventure. Quite right! I think I am going to play this on my bass clarinet, but it works really well on an Alto Clarinet!! Thanks for sharing and keep it up!
Love the inspiration for the piece. I could feel the protagonist embarking on their journey through the tempo and pacing of the passage. And alto clarinet, like you said, has such an interesting sound. Didn't realize how low it could go, but you did well showcasing the range. Great as always!
This was such a beautiful song! It sounded like there was a ton of love put into it, you are so talented and I think you are amazing. Don't ever stop doing what you love. Until next time, see ya!
In seriousness, I'll add that one of my favorite things in music is a real organic depiction of more unique feelings, like hope, or especially wonder. It's really magical when a piece can perfectly capture those feelings. I like the hopeful sortof anticipation of this piece, upon the relisten, and also I think it's interesting how you said it's supposed to elicit some feelings of nostalgia, that seems fitting. Hope can be grounded in past experiences.
Absolutely gorgeous piece! I was in bed as youtube popped this up and nearly melted into my blankets. It just has a wonderful vibe and I can absolutely see the homey feel and going onwards to new adventures. Thank you so much for sharing this with us, your videos are always a delight
Amazing! This sounds so good! The fact that it's an original composition so I've never heard it before yet it still being super catchy, is a great sign. Keep up the awesome work man!
Original music, high quality woodwind audio & an utterly excellent artist! It's all this world needs! (Parts of this reminds me just a tiny bit of "The Legend of Ashitaka" and I love it so much more for that! I was about to say that I don't think it's intentional until hitting the outro, haha.) Thank you for existing!!!
Found this on Spotify this week, and my life is drastically improved for it. It seems to be whatever I would feel if one day I realized I lived in the Shire, and went on a bike ride there. Not sure how else to explain the emotions conveyed by it, but they're definitely positive.
From Undertale's music, I discovered your channel and I am very impressed with your ability to play so many instruments. This song is one of my favorites and it sounds very relaxing.
Holy crap! I was just at a youth solo recital in Brazil where I heard this piece arranged for a bassoon. I found it really beautiful, and went looking for it. Never in a million years I would have guessed that the composer was the funny guy I knew from undertale covers. Awesome work!
I was happy to hear you say your intent on this piece was exactly what I had heard. You've evoked a sense of longing to see what's beyond those fields; the adventure is just starting. Maybe a tour?
This music is so nice ! really sweet and catchy in the same time. I just love it ^^ The alto clarinet does a rly good job in this piece. Thanks for your awesome work @InstrumentManiac
It's really a great piece of work. It's nice to see someone who plays so many instruments professionally.
Personally, I'd rather hear them.

I love this song. The alto clarinet sounded amazing! Before I saw the title, I didn't recognize it without the neck strap!
Really nice! I'll never understand why the alto clarinet has such a bad reputation among band directors and many wind band composers, as it's such a beautiful instrument!
Agreed! I feel like it has such a nice unique sound
Right?! It's like the invisible cousin of the B-flat...
