I'm from Telangana, to be Frank Kannada and Telugu are like identical twins of same mother, i don't know kannada but I can understand so much when they are speaking in kannada language that really something'incredible feeling...
And i can read kannada words without much difficult which almost identical to Telugu script with few differences.
Example : In kannada Dhoda ( big) , swalpa (little), Amma , Anna, nivu , Peru in Telugu we also use these words in mostly in rural areas ...!

The difference between ల and ళ is completely lost in Telugu no one speaks it.
But it's so beautiful in kannada
You are wrong nag,in telugu both the letters are spelt differently and are also pronounced beautifully in different words,it's just that most of the people in the modern generation can't spell the words properly because of excessive use of English in normal daily conversations
