OMG.....I bought a tube top for a dollar and a bed sheet for 1.20, I got the rafia skirt at dollar tree, and literally had all the paint already. I saw your video on slow motion countless of times and couldn't have been easier. I finished it in one day. Thank you so much for you video. 🌺🌴🌺🌴

What i love about these videos is the amount of effort put in! Awesome! Fun fact though, her 'costume' is actually made out of traditional garments. If you were in samoa, you could make this authentically with no 'glueing' so to speak. :) the top would be an 'ie lavalava, and the bottom is made out of an 'ie toga mixed with a Siapo. :)
I couldn't find Aleene's glue and didn't have time to order. So I used modge podge instead. Worked pretty well! Could find the right shirt so I just bought fabric for my local craft store. I only used half the technique. but...... So happy with DYI thank you so much. My daughter will love it!

I want to be moana for Halloween this year when I go to Disneyland and this seems like the most accurate looking and do-able costume. Holy. Cow. This costume took HOURS of painting and cutting but it was totally worth it. Everyone loves my costume and hopefully I'll win the costume contest on Halloween!

Thank you so much for this tutorial, I'm making my daughter a moana costume for Halloween and this has been a tremendous help so far. I had get fabric and sew the top and sash since I couldn't find a shirt in the right color, but it's almost all done!

Nikki Prenoveau i saw where someone said they used regular white velcro and it worked perfectly, so i'll be trying that this weekend.
