    What strikes me about Farag’s style , is his ability to take the ball earlier than his opponents. This reminds me of Hashim Khan way, way back in the 60’s when he took the ball so early that his opponent looked slow. I realize it’s impossible to compare eras of sports but Farag has that confidence that I’ve witnessed going back to the 70’s. With a slower ball, lower tin and newer scoring, this is the game that was envisioned by the squash administration. Fans, players want positive, attacking squash. Farag certainly delivers. But, what to do with Asal?

    Hope Asal (and his fans) are watching and learning fair play and sportsmanship from Farag! Great Squash without all the nonsense drama

    Would loved to have seen the current Ali going up against Rami in his prime. Starting to think Ali is deserving of the GOAT crown, such an incredible player.

      Really eh? No knock to Ali, he's remarkable. But I think a prime Ashour vs. a prime Ali... I am picking Ramy. There is just an extra sprinkle of magic, an extra sprinkle of finesse, and a dash of additional physicality that Ramy had.
      Props to you Ali F!!!

      Canot compare era like that, otherwise then compare also with Khan then ! 😂

      @@DavidMacVicarThere’s no doubt that Rami has greatly impacted Farag, such that Farag has the benefit of the advantages of the game now in addition to what he learned by watching Rami. These comparisons are always impossible because if we’re talking about Rami in his prime in the past vs. Farag now, maybe Farag could win that, but the question is, what if Rami were in his prime now? And Jansher, Jahangir, Shabana, etc. A fun question to ask.

      @@GG-gk7jn you can definitely compare Ashour and Farag. What are you on about? Their careers overlapped for many years! Nothing about the game or racquet technology has changed so substantially as to make them incomparable like modern players and the Khans.

    I like Farag, his mannerism etc. but winning continuously seems to show the fear of losing and at all costs. The win over momen wasn’t pretty, especially in third set with some controversial moments and obvious support for the US fan favorite by the ref. The win required almost warlike tactics and scheming

    Farag is great. I just wish he'd take the Harvard crest off his shirt. Unless they're sponsoring him there's no reason to keep wearing that thing. Keeping it makes him seem smug and obnoxious.

    • @americanbridgecompany
      @americanbridgecompany ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He can't be proud of his college? Or of his tenure there where he become one of the greatest collegiate squash players ever? I don't think there's anything inherently smug about Harvard, and in this particular context I think its appropriate.
