Have the LS 50 Metas in a smallish room, and use them with two subs (SVS SB 2000's), and they're outstanding. If i had a slightly bigger room these would get very serious consideration: Great imaging, very good measurements, decent dynamics, and go all the way into the '40's. Plus frequently on sale. Seen them as low as $1500/pr in scratch and dent sales. Hint' usually the only thing scratched and dented is the cardboard box. So now you know how to steal your way to Class A sound.
Month ago I made change from Q350 to R3 Meta. And yes, Q350 are lovely for its price, but R3 are cruching them in every aspect. Worth every $ spent on them
Yes! 😂, some would even say yes over the regular R3. Not sure how much of an improvement they would be there but in there own right these are awesome speakers and this definitely is the direction I am heading
Gorgeous looking speakers in white. I have 2019 LS 50’s in white / electric blue on one of my systems. If I ever rid of my Thiel CS2 towers on another system (bought new in ‘88), the R3’s are the definite replacement !
Hi, Jiles! I saw you made a review for dali oberon 3, which i own right now. I just ordered kef r3 meta after i watched your video. How they compare in terms of sound? Will be any upgrade for me?
Both are outstanding speakers and it will come down to personal taste. I like the midrange on the KEF a bit more and would likely go that way. I think either are a win.
Thank you Jiles, great video! Do you consider the R3 Meta an upgrade over the LS50 Meta, or a bigger version of the same sound signature? (Reason I ask is I have a good sub so bass is not a concern). Thank you Sir!
During your demo how close did you have them to the wall? I would have a similair position for mine as stands just aren't possible. Would have about 20cm clearance to the back wall so wonder if this will render the near 2k purchase not worth it?

Thanks for watching!
I have the KEF Q350s right now and they sound nice. The R3 Metas are in my wish list. I'm hoping that the improvement will be worth the expense.
They are amazing!

@@damianszczepanski7628 Thank you for that assesment.
Now I'm determined to get the R3's and try them out.

They are very good looking!
Looking at these and the Martin Logan xtb100 for movies any thoughts? I will add a center and sub to go with
I am a big fan of the KEF. I particularly like their sound though.

I think they are an upgrade, but if you have a sub it might not be super noticeable.
@@JilesMcCoy thank you!!
wWat amp would you recommend? I think kef like to pair them with Hagel amps
That really depends on your taste. so may great options out there!
Hegel and KEF are a brilliant match
I love KEF / Linn combo….

More clearance the better. I was very close. But I had them crossed over and bass shunted to a sub. So not as big a deal for my testing.
What Amp are you using with these? Thanks.
I used several.
Why do you prefer Bookshelves over floorstanders?
They are very flexable .
Nice looking speakers. A lot on the expensive side though.
They are beautiful. If these are expensive, you should check out the TAD video to have your mind blown!
Yah.. Great speakers.
Agreed!
