    Hi there, what a fantastic day! Double Lizzy 1st silver, amazing! Just to say, your copper George is Geo' 1st.
    Geo' 11nd faces left. It's also never the podgy face of Geo 111! All the best, John (Coleman).

      I’ve been addicted to the 13” coil recently and it’s paying off. My finds rate recently has gone through the roof. It could just be a coincidence though but I’m sticking with it for now 👍👍

    Wow buddy, what stonking day, the sort of day you dream of but you seem to be having more and more of them! You should defo do the lottery whilst you are on this hot streak! I rarely find the larger hammies these days, just one Lizzy sixpence in the last 6/12 but the Deus is so good at winkling them out. I use the same spade as you and its definitely a good upgrade! Great entertainment my friend.
    Cheers

    Good day mate! Looks like a lovely day there for detecting. I was going to comment real fast about the detailed artifact near the beginning. The little object looks to me like a small handle, or even the broken off leg of a small container (perhaps a vase or similar to hold liquid). Just a guess.

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OMA_MetalDetecting Good day Michael, hope everything is well with you also. I'm doing fine.
      I was thinking even a small indoor pot leg for that item.
      Lately I've been thinking about getting permission on a nearly deserted town's store yard. The front of the building has the 'Old West' billboard signage, and might have some old American coinage. Its a pretty small town with a good distance from me, so could take me a while.

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@johnreighard9731 I would LOVE to watch you detect that John. Always had a soft spot for the old west and seeing an old town like that would instantly make me interested. Sounds promising. Look for old building platforms and search around and under them. All well hear buddy. Good luck 🤞

      @@OMA_MetalDetecting Ah mate, but I've never videotaped anything for TH-cam before. I would need to be taught, and possibly have the right equipment. I could take segment videos from the phone, but wouldn't know what to do with them once home again 😂Goodness, I'm just a viewer 🤦🏻‍♂️Perhaps Google can help me...

    What a great day again! 😁
    I'm curious about the set-up you use to drag your spade around. Could you tell me how you've got it put together, please?
    I'm thinking about the colder weather when I could benefit from having a hand free to keep warm in my pocket. With the spade behind me I can swap detecting hands as I go.

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is something I made by fashioning together some hooks with a belt loop. It took several goes to get right but I honestly can’t live without it now. I was tempted to start selling a few as lots of people ask me about it. As I carry camera equipment it’s a life saver! I like you’re idea about winter though, that will come in really ‘handy’ 👍👍

      @@OMA_MetalDetecting Thanks for the info - I'll start Heath-Robinsoning something together and see how quickly I can lose my spade without noticing 😁

  • @58landman
    @58landman ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This is so interesting and quite unlike anything we have here in the States. Why do you suppose that you find various coins in the middle of these fields? Were these fields the sites of villages or trading areas or something else? It's hard to believe that they contain so much and that seems to be much of the case in the British Isles.

    • @OMA_MetalDetecting
      @OMA_MetalDetecting  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve often wondered about this myself and I came to the conclusion that England, although it seems large to us is actually just a small island. Over thousands of years people changed the island from effectively one giant forest to farm land and settlements. Fields which appear “just a field” had to be made into a field which involved horses and tons of man power and in turn left the remanence of such work behind. I can honestly say that on almost every field here there will be something, wether a buckle, coin or pot. I proved this with a video on my channel called “ can you find something in the middle of nowhere”. The field was super quiet but there was still a few things here and there. Great comment 👍👍
