i was hoping to love this pattern, but it’s extremely confusing. i’ve crocheted for years and i still just don’t get it. i wish you wouldn’t just say “you should have got the hang of it by now” and then move on to the next row, because the bigger the granny square gets it looks different than the previous row and can get confusing trying to figure out where to place the corners. :/ spent over an hour just trying to make one because a lot of details were glossed over and then you’re already moving onto the next row. this is my second time redoing my first square and i give up. the heart part was super simple but you just go to fast and don’t explain very much
I would recommend learning the basic granny square before the heart granny square because it will help everything here make more sense :) Hope this helps!
for me it was confusing at first as well i had to slow down and rewind the videos multiple times of how something was explained but i was able to complete 3 bags i agree some details were confusing but wasnt totally impossible, this isnt really a beginner friendly tutorial but it is easy

@@jasam2373 I crocheted for 5 hours per day so it took me like 3 days. It's not difficult... I suggest you to make first all the hearts and then the squares. It'll be more easy to actually finish the project!

I’ve made 20 hearts, followed the video for each one, they all look fairly uniform but now moved on to make the square and I don’t seem to t have enough stitches around the heart to accommodate the 1st round of the lighter colour. Thought I’d made it too small even though they all look the same and I followed the video each time, but it’s the same with the 1st 2 hearts I’ve tried?

Hey so my hearts keep coming out rlly weird like one of the curves is longer than the other? And when i do the first 4 single crochets with the light brown color its cool but then i dont have another 4 to do? So im confused and stressed and sad. Any tips??

Definitely not for beginners! Will need to know a lot of the terminology! Also know how to follow patterns. If so, you will get the hang of it! Had a little trouble starting the 3rd row but went to the instructions of the 2nd row & found the pattern so it got easier!
First time crocheting. Self taught. Well I'm actually not self taught because I still can't figure out how to do this without screwing up. Edit: it looks really easy and u explain it in a very simple way but idk why the hart looks like a rectangle 😩
when slip stitiching the squares together I did it very tightly, making it seem like an hourglass and very big compared the the seam. should I redo and make the stitches looser or will it turn out ok? thank you xoxo
If the squares are slipstitched too tightly together it can make them look uneven and bumpy which I know would bother me for sure, so if you’re okay with redoing the connecting part then I’d say go for it!

it is a cute pattern and bag. but your instructions were not very clear especially about the chain 1 after the 3 double crochet. As you didn't mention it until the second row of the square was almost complete.

The condition of the bag will depend on how much you put in it, if it becomes very heavy then the strap might stretch a bit overtime but other than that I’d say you should definitely crochet a bag they’re so cute and worth it in my opinion🥰 and no I’m actually Lithuanian this is what I’m called by my family💓
Same! I need the measurements of the squares. What im doing though is taking a bag that looks like it has the same dimensions as the bag she is making and once I got to row 4 I used the square and placed it on the corner of that bag. Then I measured how long the square was and then marked where the square was. After that I place the square again next to where I marked it last and I checked to see if 3 squares would make the width of the bag. I hope this helps. (Hopefully this makes sense..) :)

Hey so my hearts keep coming out rlly weird like one of the curves is longer than the other? And when i do the first 4 single crochets with the light brown color its cool but then i dont have another 4 to do? So im confused and stressed and sad. Any tips??
I'm planning to do this but in color green and white. Do you think white yarn (50grams) is enough? I will use green yarn on the handle.

if anyone has trouble following, putting the playback speed to 0.5 or 0.25 helps lots!
Definitely not for beginners! Will need to know a lot of the terminology! Also know how to follow patterns. If so, you will get the hang of it! Had a little trouble starting the 3rd row but went to the instructions of the 2nd row & found the pattern so it got easier!
First time crocheting. Self taught. Well I'm actually not self taught because I still can't figure out how to do this without screwing up.
Edit: it looks really easy and u explain it in a very simple way but idk why the hart looks like a rectangle 😩

when slip stitiching the squares together I did it very tightly, making it seem like an hourglass and very big compared the the seam. should I redo and make the stitches looser or will it turn out ok?

If the squares are slipstitched too tightly together it can make them look uneven and bumpy which I know would bother me for sure, so if you’re okay with redoing the connecting part then I’d say go for it!

it is a cute pattern and bag. but your instructions were not very clear especially about the chain 1 after the 3 double crochet. As you didn't mention it until the second row of the square was almost complete.

The condition of the bag will depend on how much you put in it, if it becomes very heavy then the strap might stretch a bit overtime but other than that I’d say you should definitely crochet a bag they’re so cute and worth it in my opinion🥰 and no I’m actually Lithuanian this is what I’m called by my family💓

Same! I need the measurements of the squares. What im doing though is taking a bag that looks like it has the same dimensions as the bag she is making and once I got to row 4 I used the square and placed it on the corner of that bag. Then I measured how long the square was and then marked where the square was. After that I place the square again next to where I marked it last and I checked to see if 3 squares would make the width of the bag. I hope this helps. (Hopefully this makes sense..) :)

Absolutely! You can crochet a bunch of the heart squares and then slip stitch or join them however you like until you have a big blanket.
