  • While the Duke Lemur Center remains closed to visitors, their employees continue to care for these cute primates and welcome some of its newest residents.
Earlier this year, the center delivered two Coquerel's Sifaka (pronounced "ko-keh-relle sheef-auk") lemurs, some of the rarest animals in the world! Didius and Terence - both related to the famous "Zomboomafoo" - are apart of the Duke Lemur Centers Digital Adoption Program: a symbolic, donation-based adoption program, which supports both animal care at the center and conservation programs in Madagascar.
Despite challenges brought about by COVID-19, the Duke Lemur Center has developed new ways to engage with audiences via virtual experiences, educational presentations and its digital adoption program.

I love lemurs! My favorite lemurs are ring-tailed lemurs, sifaka lemurs and aye-ayes.
