Nice meeting you ! We barely got to Elijay for dinner with Craig going off the side of the mountain.. Glad he was ok. I think I had a 4x4 route so I was in and out on the trail you were using. I was hoping to catch you at one point but biike are so much faster, I camped after going thru Old Buck Town Road in the dark! That was crazy and I ended up camping at the top of hill where the Airplane crash plaque was. Your first tree I think was cleared when I got there. The one you said you went under I had to clear in the dark! LOL First time using my electric chainsaw and winch! It was nice to end the route with all the water crossings just before getting back to Tellico. Great video and Cheers!
Looks like some really nice trails. Been trying to find some like that around here. The KR is a lot harder on the tough trails around here than the motocross bike I’m used to
The rain looks rough but still looks like an awesome ride. I live in sw va and just bought a new bike so plan on shit weather for the foreseeable future😂
Looks like a fun ride. I subbed to VintageWanderer's channel when he posted the first video of the trip to the FB 4x4 group we're both members of. Absolutely hate seeing pristine camping areas trashed like that. I think evil thoughts against humanity when I see that stuff. I have a feeling I know exactly where you were at about 23 minutes in. I may have driven that area about 3 times. My avatar actually shows my T/A on one of those outings. Glad everyone made it thorugh okay.
May want to start practicing clearing obstacles similar to that tree. Perhaps setting up obstacle coursing at your yard for short time or you can start taking a battery operated chainsaw that small enough to pack.
It seems that most people ride 100-150 miles of off road per day. I'd like to do the Chattahoochee BDR-X, which is essentially a three day 350 mile version of the Smokey Mountain 500, but I'm an old guy. I can do a few miles, but I'm doubting my ability to ride 100+ miles of dual sport trails in a day, much less three consecutive days. I completely concur with your conclusion that it's a good idea to have a riding buddy.
Good job man.. enjoyed seeing the whole loop. Glad you had minimum issues. There was one guy when we did it said he always carries some type of hand saw to cut those little trees like that. Course we didn't have one either but something to think about next time.
Gas is pretty accessible, the only stretch that’s is without it is on the yellow section between tellico and Robinsonvile. There’s only about one gas station on that section that I’m aware of.
Awesome video, I just finished up the SM500 right before the hurricane. Great Job!

Good thing I came along with that down tree... :D
No doubt man!!!😂

Yeah rain always makes for better stories and in the summer in MS they are usually welcomed to cool you off a bit 😆

Yeah it’s a beautiful area, I want to go back and slow down and look around more. So much to see!
Great video!

The road 15:24 is where I live. I wish I would have know you were coming by. I would have loved to meet you.
Oh man yeah that woulda been cool, I’ll be back again.

I told Andrea before I left I need to get one. I was kicking myself in the moment for not having one 😂
Do you have to ride more then a 100 miles for fuel stops or are they much closer together?

19:17. That was nice... What'd you think of the one across two wheels or suches?
Been waiting on this video! What mapping system did you use and do you have a link for it?
Gaia app, we’ve been using it for years. Got the files for the loop off the sm500 group page. 👍
06:17 to me that was one of the best views we got to for the little bit we did.
Yeah not many open views the first day or so especially with the fog.
18:52 your Mississippi is showing
Shut it
