I had it for a while now, take some getting use to some of the settings. I have used it for some public performances, since I like to use my nylon acoustic guitar but I like the bright steel acoustic sounds of Taylors etc... Worth it. But havent used it lately.
Wow, 5 years later and I finally found someone who could describe what this pedal actually does. Too bad I abandoned it long ago and bought the LR Baggs Venue. Maybe now I'll go find this pedal and give it another shot. Thanks.
Echoing what others have said, this is probably the best description of what this pedal actually is and what it actually does and does not do. Nice one!
Is it have to always be on? How to turn him totally off having it in pedalboard chain. For example : i wan use only body rez and l.r. baggs align session without Aura.
I've seen a number of videos, and this is great, but one thing that the video never shows is how to use the anti-feedback button. that would be so much help!
Thanks for the great explanation. I was wondering why my 6 string guitar was not sounding like a 12 string guitar: Now I know it is more of a frequency image mapping device.
Fantastic explanation of how the system works. Ordering mine this week for my Martin dreadnought with a Fishman piezo under the bridge. Can't wait to add this to my studio and live shows!
I don't think I'd ever consider using this in a studio setting. Why would you go direct from your guitar in an environment where you can mic it up properly? Also the anti-feedback switch isn't a phase shift, it's a notch filter.
I would. Perfect for those who might not have access to a $3k Neumann mic in their little home studio. I don't think one in 100 could tell the difference in the finished product and it sure saves a lot of time.
I can record in my house, where there’s no space or treatment to have a good sounding room with a mic and with my kid stomping around in the next room and lay down a mic’d acoustic sounding recording.
No matter what you do it always seems to sound Unnatural and just something weird. I have heard the Dobro one sound really good. But always a swing and a miss on the acoustic - it never sounds right and it still has that quacky piezo sound lurking in there. Just my opinion by observation. Maybe give it a try - but make sure you can send it back when it doesn't work out. I am calling total BS on that "it doesn't matter what kind...." statement. That is totally false.
Out of every single video I've watched in TH-cam; this is the very best demo and explanation of what the Fishman Aura Preamp is. Well done!
1st video I found where the aura is explained as it truly is!
The word “pristine” is now stuck in my head for the rest of the day

I agree this pedal is severely misunderstood and underrated.
You had me at $2 guitar.
Brilliant tutorial well explained

It's useful to do both and have a mic track and a direct track. :-)
I feel using a mic is a pain so this saves a lot of messing about
Alasdair Begg There is also a Phase Shift switch on the side

Gooot Ya
Just remember, these devices are very good at cutting frequencies but cannot create frequencies and harmonics that are missing.
Love this pedal but the tuner is useless

Not that acoustic sounding
We want hear the pedal!!!! Not your voice!!!!
What the presenter wanted to do was to explain how the pedal works, so it is all fine.
We can understand the sound by not hearing your voice. 😂😂😂
but I his voice is so soothing. I'm literally just gonna follow, so i can fall asleep to this dude talking. Take that Headspace paywall!!!
I think this could be used with thin body 12 string to make it sound like a guild.
