Good morning Mr. Aquachigger! I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your love of US History, and taking us along on all of your adventures. I'm glad you're able to get back in the river finally! Anyway, thanks again for dedicating so much of your time and money towards educating the public on so many interesting items and tidbits from our past! I'd love to be able to spend a day with you, just talking about the Civil War and picking your brain. You sir, are a good man!
Glad to see you got back to your roots that's why I originally started watching working those creeks and rivers I think that's why they call you Aqua chigger
@@chrishui1948 Exactly. That bullet may have changed history. At least for one family. That's why fired civil war bullets have so much more meaning than dropped bullets.
morning time The AquaChigger adventure....... awesome AMBER STRAP SIDE FLASK. to bad it didn't have an eagle in the center slug plate .... great to see you pulling bullets again. appreciate you posting as many as you are. keep up the great work
Another great video as always. At 14:11 bottom centre of the fish spawning nest there is a circular bung with a raised lug, cannon muzzle bung? It was so neat to meet you on Saturday and Sunday. Thank you for all the tips. That guy I was telling you about was from Mount Airy, MD. I went on my first adventure with my Garrett Ace 400 last night to the play area where I live, I got a US cent from 1967 in great condition, two Canadian cents from 1987, a nut, a bolt, a nail, a piece of foil and a bottle cap. So pleased to not get skunked on my first trip. Thanks again and enjoy the mine :>)
You can temporarily direct a river to un-cloud your area by using ten poles with fabric tied to them (think fishing net, but with fabric). I have done this many times and it works really nice when you're searching through muddy water. You stake the poles in a diagonal to your spot of need to create a choke point. Doesn't need to be deep (as in the fabric doesn't need to reach the bottom) but you need at least 3 meters of it. It's easily stored in a tube along with the poles.
Didn’t know you were a U-boat commander 😂😂😂!!! Nice finds!!! My wife loves ❤️ the bottles, bet your Mrs. does as well!!! Sorry your had to paddle back! If you’re like me, getting to old for that kind of excitement 😁 See ya on the next video 👍👍👍
hey chigg, i think the anheiser busch bottle could be worth saving, it appears to be pre-prohibition and is a nice amber color. my girlfriend found an aqua colored version in the woods and it turned out to be worth about $20!
The story behind that canteen Albert Nathan Bedford a soldier fighting for the Confederate States, was sent down to the river to fetch a bucket of water. While at the river's edge he retrieved his own canteen to fill. When he hears talking coming from the other bank of the river. He looks up in disbelief to see three union soldiers, about the same time a shot rings out landing only inches away. His heart is racing like a rabbit as he drops his canteen and reaches for his pistol getting off a shot. A second shot is heard striking the pale water. Trying to get up the slick muddy bank he takes refuge behind a large elm tree. Taking careful aim he pulls the trigger only to hear a click dang misfire. At this time the union gun fire sounds like a fourth of july celebration with the old Elm taking the brunt of the hits. At that moment he thought I must get back to camp and warn the others. As he makes it to the crest of the bank he is greeted by a couple of guys from his regiment. He makes it out of that skirmish to tell the tale, how a canteen of water just about cost him is life to six wide eyed grandchildren sitting cross legged on a farm porch in rural Alabama. With the youngest Nate named after him pulling on his shirttail. Papa tell us another one.
Do you have a video explaining make and model, hp ect. Would like to own one someday soon. I not only relic hunt old shipwrecks but it would be great for spearfishing off the beach. Thanx for the great vids.
Those water bugs are little killers. I think some of them kill minnows. Pretty neat, he didn't wanna let you go chigg. Yeah, if only the go pro was rolling when you hit that water, would have been great footage lol. Glad to see you still in good spirits with a long paddle ahead of you. Thanks for another adventure sir! You take care.

Not to be a stickler .... Odonate (dragonfly) nymph. And you're right - giant water bugs do have a painful bite, but you really have to harass them to get them to bite most of the time.
IF you plan to paint the boat again, give plasti-dipping a try. Might wanna get a cheapo spray can and test it on a patch on the top. I have a small kayak that i plasti-dipped and it's holding on good so far (with the original PD paint can).
The wife and I just discussed the fact that "Turn of the century" is no longer a valid turn for older items. Funny you would mention it the next day. Good Video chig, thx.
Hey, I like the little song at the end of the video.. it’s been getting cut short.. is it any longer?... or is it just cutting out at the last line or so anymore ?
AWESOME Chigg! Sorry about your mishap! Really great finds thank you for sharing this. Question, What kind of motor do you have in your boat? Did you have to modify it and/or the boat to fit? Thank you for your reply in advance.
I have only watched for about a month. Could you do a show on cleaning and preserving a find. I was hoping the canteen from your last show; if you haven't done something already with the canteen.
Chigg: I have an idea for you. Make an adapter for the Mokia that attaches to the jet exhaust and a hose , Wahla! now you have a mobile wash down hose so you can wash out that old wagon all those other goodies from the banks of the river. Michael Orlando, FL
That “water bug” as you called is a voracious predator. I’ve never seen one that big. And, yes if given a chance they will bite. I know it’s there home and all, but they’re just damn creepy...rather see it as a dragon fly lol.
I think the Bug was a toe biter--Belostomatidae is a family of freshwater hemipteran insects known as giant water bugs or colloquially as toe-biters. They have a very nasty bite and eat small fish.
Hey Chig, It seems that your last few videos the volume is quite low. I've got my volume up full but still hard to hear. Can you increase your recording level?
You know chigg if those are .22 short cases they could be from the Civil War because .22 short was introduced in 1857 and I hear it was pretty popular, also .22 Flobert was introduced into the United States in the late 1840s and that case is similar to 22 short...
Unfired/dropped bullets indicate that the person or a camp was near by and other items may be close to it. A fired bullet can travel a very long distance before it hits the ground.
