  • The ACS UC Berkeley School of Law Student Chapter held a discussion in March 2019 on corporate personhood. The event featured Professor Adam Winkler, author of “We the Corporations: How American Businesses Won Their Civil Rights” and Professor Kent Greenfield, author of "Corporations Are People Too (And They Should Act Like It)."
From Citizens United, to Hobby Lobby, to Masterpiece Cakeshop, corporate rights have taken center stage in some of the most controversial Supreme Court cases of recent years. What rights do corporations have? How did corporations win those rights? Should corporations have the same rights as people? Which rights, if any, should corporations have? Should we amend the Constitution to end corporate rights - or change corporations to be more responsible in exercising their rights? Watch the video to hear answers to these and other pressing questions.
