@@by_the_baron4933 I just wish the value of boosters was a little bit better relative to the price. If the cost of the boosters was 130 bucks, and the non-bulk expected value was 110-120, I wouldn't mind buying boosters at a loss for the fun of the pack opening. All of my booster box openings of late have been miserable though, non-bulk value close to 40-50 dollars. The damn collector boosters feel a bit better, but they are so expensive, and a miss feels so much worse on them.
I really like the theming of duskmourn, and would like to open more. The double exposure is great too. But you need to get so lucky just to break even. With power creep being what it is, you can’t even hold them and let value come back in the long term.
I'm glad I get to live vicariously through you, duskmours is my favorite set by far so far, it's so freaking cool. The art is awesome, the themes are so freaking cool, I'm obsessed!! I've gotten each of the collector sets, the tv nightmare box and the house of horror bundle, and I'm honestly so pleased with the value I've gotten out of them. My partner and I used the horror bundle to play draft together! :)
Idk how to claim coins but im claiming coins lol! Also I just got into magic and you have really been the only TH-camr I’ve been following (next to tolarian ofc). Great videos, great info, super helpful so thanks so much!

I got the nightmare bundle pulled about £40-50 worth of cards , cost £70 for the bundle when it comes down to it I'm pretty happy with that considering when I spend 10-15 on booster and get maybe £2 - 5 worth of cards
Value also depends on what you ate doing with the cards. The two dollar cutoff makes sense for selling, but if you are adding to your collection to play with, then the lower value cards still add to the value.
Artist Tim Jacobus is the original illustrator for the iconic Goosebumps series books by R. L. Stine . He was recently at NYCC2024, he was very friendly. I wished I pulled the art card to get an autograph on it.
If a anything, this video how's why we buy sealed as well. That first box was 🔥 The trick is to get a baseline on the bulk you might need then do singles for what you need, people too easily forget how quickly card market fees and shipping costs add up!
Another Option would be 3 Nightmare Bundles - will give you best of both worlds (half a collectors box and half a booster display) and 60 full art foil lands - the nightmare special booster cards dropped quite a bit in price though.
I've bought 2 bundles, a nightmare bundle, a collector booster box, and a prerelease. There are several cards i want that i haven't pulled yet. Think ill buy singles from now on.
I wonder if (or, rather I hope that) they might improve the value since so many folks have spoken about how disappointing the packs are after the switch to play boosters...
I just can't see opening Magic packs ever again. It's always been a gamble, but not like it is nowadays! I just ordered a box of Star Wars Unlimited cards instead, for their new Clone Wars era stuff coming out in two weeks. I'm excited that I'll get to open some packs again (it really is addictive), even if it's for a different game. I'm willing to bet that the value will be a lot more predictable than Magic packs. And I adored the Clone Wars animated series! 😊
Depends. If you're more of a player than a collector, the collector box is never worth it. You're better of buying singles. Even the play booster box isn't really worth it for players unless they get a kick out of opening boosters.
This is (questionably) true only if you treat cardboards as investment instead of game pieces. Collector boosters are never worth it if you are a Magic *player*.
Honestly, I think the best buy are the commander decks. Three out of four are pretty strong and well built out of the box with minimal upgrades needed. Second would be the Nightmare Bundles ONLY because of the promos. Without those, the value is every bit as sketchy as getting a play booster box.
These type of videos help me pull back the reigns on buying more of these haha… That first play booster box blew the collectors box out of the water… great box… other two were turds… wish you better lick next time bud!
This whole Douskmourn Set has some nice artwork, but I don't think it is worth trying to get boxes for it. Also here's a Video idea though I don't know if it's feasible even with Games Island, Opening a Box of each Production place you know like Made in Belgium, made in the USA, made in Japan and then comparing the differences between each
The horror theme matches perfectly with the scare i see when i check my credit card balances
and this is why we buy singles folks
Feels bad buying an expensive single though.
@@epsleon 100% yeah it does but so does opening dud boxes. I guess thats what we get for enjoying lootboxes the hobby.

I do not
Singles are the way to go
Crazy how expensive boosters can be compared to their value
Yeah I just opened an OTJ box and got basically the best hits (foils sucked).. the total value was still super low.

I like art cards, I can just use them as proxies for the actual ones with the help of a little printing and collage
Duskmourn horror theme is just the perfect representation of how it feels when you spend money opening Boosters
Always singles. Also! The Damnation signed art card is worth like $5 on tcgplayer currently. Very cool pull!
value is a personal thing too. i think we all agree that sometimes the artwork ist important, so I always would take the collectors...
value is not relative 😂
artwork is better nonfoil tho so you can actually see it

Yes, Masahiro Ito-san was the art director for Silent HIll 2 and 3.
Why must cracking boosters be so expensive :( thanks you do it for us
I love signed art cards. they are gorgeous.
A true horror set. Haunted by Peer Past the Veil. One night you wake up to 30 peer past the veils floating ominous through the room.

Value disparity was crazy, but the artwork are pretty cool!
Always singles, but it's amazing to open booster packs
If a anything, this video how's why we buy sealed as well. That first box was 🔥

The foil on that withering torment is pretty cool
The set-booster to play-booster change feels like a steal
Another Option would be 3 Nightmare Bundles - will give you best of both worlds (half a collectors box and half a booster display) and 60 full art foil lands - the nightmare special booster cards dropped quite a bit in price though.
The high value cards are only available in collector boosters which has always deterred me from MTG.
I bought some as well! Let's hope some luck. First order from games-island as well
Masahiro Ito was art director for Silent Hill yes :)
First box was good. The rest were a bit messy, awesome video
Going back and buying set boosters it's wild how much more value seems to be in them compared to play boosters. OTJ aside I think...
Crazy how many products you can open every month! I hope that you sell them all 😊
I've bought 2 bundles, a nightmare bundle, a collector booster box, and a prerelease. There are several cards i want that i haven't pulled yet. Think ill buy singles from now on.
some designs are soooo pretty
Crazy how the value plummeted of a booster box in the last few years
All in all an amazing set imo. Great Limited experience, good cards and beautiful artworks.
I´m starting to be done with duskmourn. not really a lot of cards that work in my decks. looking forward to foundations though!
Thank you for doing this comparison. I was debating on which one would be the better value to get.
that masahiro damnation art card!! so cool
Thanks for comparing all of the products for us!
dayum that first play booster was way better than the second
I love opening packs but anything I really want I buy as a single. I got the nightmare bundle at a good price so I’m excited for that
i wish play boosters had a shot at nicer printings even if its a very minuscule chance
Collector boosters are the only way now if u want 2 get that spicy pulls, good video!
That art card is so cool!
Hauntwoods overlord art is so good in this set
Awesome video comparing the these two boxes!
there's a couple of uncommons that are worth a couple of bucks in duskmourn which is nice
This is why I think is general play boosters are a better value proposition, less gambling with your money! I just wish we still had set boosters
What about the high value cards only available in collector boosters?
@@TrueEuropaInsights with a minuscule pull chance? As I say, you're gambling less with your money.
Love the Valgavoth Double exposure
Nice Video! Im kinda tempted for a collector booster
Its always a gamble buying boxes/packs. But also fun to open.
getting a nightmare bundle tomorrow, hoping that has some good hits
That first box was kind of spicy... coins!
I wonder if (or, rather I hope that) they might improve the value since so many folks have spoken about how disappointing the packs are after the switch to play boosters...
that JP card has a reaaaaally dope art!
it's a shame that the collector box did not pass even 150 bucks in value.
I agree lol buy singles. Booster boxes are for drafting!
Thanks for the video!
That first play booster box was awesome!
Some decent pulls
the disparity between the play boxes was crazy, and that the first box was more than the collector box.
how do you get the coins, I came across your video later but it was cool to watch you open stuff.
Love cracking boosters!

I love the art in this set
Masahiro Ito drew art for MTG, that was truly surprise for me
I always appreciate these comparisons
It seems like there are so many good hits in duskmourn
Always a blast watchin openings
love the full art lands
I think that Damnation art card is pretty valuable, because of the signing
thanks for asking the questions i never would come up with
Cool video and the coin concept is really fun aswell.
The art is nice but the value is just insane
The Everything Token in foil is worth something too!!
Do you think they will ever change up the collector booster box? like add extra packs or more rare cards
Play booster is good if you are starting out, after your first one or two, you may as well switch to the collector booster
Thing is, if you just want to open something, collector boosters are so so expensive

I love the artwork in this set! but they're a bit pricey
Get the play booster boxes and do draft at home. Or sealed. 😉 So even if they are not worth the money you won't loose
Nice opening as usual! But the value inside Booster Boxes over the last few sets is legit abysmal!
I think I'd pick the two play booster boxes since I like opening packs.
Very nice comparison. Ty. I know what to do now
Nice upgrade to the video quality!
If you hit special guest a play booster box are okay. But I miss the set booster
I had fun opening the nightmare bundle I was very lucky, single card was one of the chase premium so made it worth it ❤
Honestly, I think the best buy are the commander decks. Three out of four are pretty strong and well built out of the box with minimal upgrades needed. Second would be the Nightmare Bundles ONLY because of the promos. Without those, the value is every bit as sketchy as getting a play booster box.
I didnt expect the collector boosters to lose
23:17 Reminds me of Sid's toy in Toy Story.

Just found out art cards exist, nice !
Love these artworks
the 2 play boosters is more worth IMO, but still collector art is something else
Those Japanese cards are beautiful.
Always happy for these compare videos
I think the way Boosters are now is sell as soon as possible when a set comes out, or be lucky with collectors.

Still need to find an overlord of the hauntwoods
that first booster box was fire ! but the collector one... oof
It's crazy how little value these expensive packs have :C
It depends on what you want to do
i love the thematic of duskmourn
Collector booster have an additional layer of fun and exitement. Beside that, buy singles.
will you check out the foundations starter kit?
Really cool comparison!
