- A little video showing you the Batik techniques i use to put the second layer of wax onto our new skirts for Spring 2020 freehand with via using the tjanting tool, paintbrush, and a cookie cutter! Find them at waxonstudio.etsy.com when they’re ready.
Side note: I tried using the “live titles“ feature on my video app, and it’s hilariously incorrect. Enjoy.
So relaxing to listen and watch you paint with wax. Love your artwork!
Thank you Teri! I'm not great at keeping up with TH-cam but I'll try to do better in the future!
A friend shared your video with me and I'm glad she did. I enjoyed watching! Your very pleasant to listen to, and made a very informative video. You explain batik very well.
Well I'm grateful to your friend. I love explaining techniques to people and I'm glad that came through!
Thank you so much for a lovely well-done video. I'm just starting to try batik watercolors and hopefully one day on small items of clothing. Collecting everything to do so was a challenge but I even splurged on an electric tjanting tool years ago knowing when I started watercolors batik was my goal. I forgot I had it until recently and I was overjoyed when I found it. I am making wax mixtures and am all ready. Your work looks amazing. I'm subscribing!
That's so kind! Thank you!
Love ur works
Ohh I just purchased a wooden tool with a batik writer. Looking forward to it.
Hi I like what your doing. I am starting into Encustaic. I read about small cookie cutters. What name brushes do you use? I am using hake but I need smaller ones as well. I really would like your in put. I also live 6 months in sapphire NC. Any tips that you would like to share with me. I would appreciate it.🌻
Hi Lynne! I would love to have you in my next online batik cohort. We meet twice in the month of February (via Zoom). I answer all these questions and more! waxonstudio.as.me/schedule/c6934035/appointment/56021467/calendar/4626145?appointmentTypeIds%5B%5D=56021467
How did u add the gold first then wax, will that be removed when you wash out the wax?
That’s the color of the beeswax itself!
Does this work to mask and area if I wanted to bleach something?
You know, that's a really interesting question/idea. I've never combined batiking with bleach, so I have no idea if the bleach would start eating away at the wax or not.
