This is the single most underrated oscillator in modular - and it should be a strong candidate for anyone looking for a first oscillator, because it's one you can work with in a very simple way, and also go really deep with as you grow your knowledge and your system. TZFM and a built in VCA are the sorts of things that really push an already great osc over the edge, it's absurdly full featured.
As a first oscillator? Not sure, it might be overwhelming. But first sure it is one of the nicest. I have it in my rack too, next to Plaits and Rings. A neutron takes care of pure analog tones.
Just got this one today, great demo and sounds 🤟, pretty fat sub, separate sub out really useful,, been on it all day, has some nice drone like qualities too, hypnotized myself
hahah I thought you were being sarcastic and then counted at least 3.... me thinks it's as purposeful as our good friend Brad from Moo Double Instruments.
@@RedMeansRecordingModular nothing but love man! F the words part and keep bringing the fun and the jams. Hope we didn’t come off like a bunch of dick-shun-aries
I am minded to try this module again… I had one, but sold it as the menu-diving and button combos were the most complex I had ever encountered (and I have two Disting Mk IVs!). However, it does do a lot, and as a straight 8hp swap for the Bastl Pizza it’s probably the better bet. Ah, the constant trade-offs that are part of the joys of modular!
If I'd have known about this one sooner I wouldn't have gotten the Erica Black VCO (although that one is also pretty cool but not as much as this one).
I would suggest using the unison algos in both sections. That will give you up to 14 oscillators. Then keep them as stereo sound source using two VCF and hard panning. Set the V.Oct inputs to Added, so that a single CV connection drives them in perfect parallel.
the problem with text videos is checking spelling. ask me about my algotyehothm.
Um actually it’s spelled Algernonen

I thought the same thing now that I've finally heard it
huge agree. absolutely hidden gem / weapon.
Picking one up tomorrow. Will be awesome! Packs a punch in a small package

This is ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT!!!! Bravo Red Means Recording!! JUST FABULOUS!!! BLESSINGS TO YOU!!
Definitely the best twin waves video out there. Really useful and inspiring. Thank you!
There is barely anything on this module on TH-cam, and right as I'm considering buying it, here comes a video from my favorite channel! Thanks Jeremy!
I can't imagine you would regret getting it
I enjoyed how it was one sound source and maybe a drum machine, and then periodically (eg 6:30) we get the whole arrangement. Nice.
Thanks for the demo really useful!
God DAMNIT. I just bought a twin waves. You make this thing sound amazeballs. great job!
Got this one and paired it with my Plaits. Luv it for bass 🎉
I wish I could like this twice!
Love this format. So informative and relaxing
Just picked it up. My first Hardware Eurorack module! 🎉
Definitely gives me some Ensemble oscillator feels with that 2nd oscillator quantized
Absolutely huge sound possibilities. Awesome.
Yes!!
Awesome video of a very under-rated module. Thanks man.
So THATS what it sounds like. I never expected it to be so angry. I dig it
Thank you for doing this Jeremy!
8:32 Queue Chemical Brothers breakdown solo wooooo!
Man, dude. That's great playing right there.
Great demo of an awesome module. Thanks man!
awwww yeahhhhh the secrets out on this one this module SLAPS.

uh..... sold!!! :-)
Thank you for support !
Thanks for the great oscillator! Just snagged a second one.
I swear Jeremy spelled quantization like 4 different ways in this video

He's live-typing the captions with his free hand - not easy.
@@atomboyd honestly i'm just really bad at words. i'll try harder next time.

Shit, thats what I call a demo! Amazing jam
Damn. Okay!
right?

Could you make decent pad sounds with this and some effects? ie. slightly detune the second oscillator, maybe even modulating the pitch slightly.
Sure. But it would be at best only two pitches. Pads are generally chords.
