15:38 I would solve this by selecting all the points I need and hitting *_Set Selection._* Now all your mouth points are saved for easier selection. You can also divide between the points and create multiple 'Set Selection' tags, so you can choose ONLY the upper jaw, Lower Jaw etc.
The joy I feel when EJ shows the basic principle - then makes the character do a wee song!! Haha, amazing content delivered with such infectious enthusiasm - priceless plus inspiring! ❤👍
Better late than never, right? :) I've gone about certain workflows totally wrong for so long and slowly learning the optimal ways to do things so don't feel bad! Thanks for watching!
This workflow is amamazing because I use set up the same result with way much complexity with Expresso and so !! Thank you so much man for real this really Guinness
Just going through this tut now and changing all the materials to arnold so I can see the pretty lol. Wasn't expecting that. I'll have to give RS a go next since Arnold's GPU rendering needs work :/
This was awesome EJ thank you so much once again for sharing your wisdom. Had fun listening to you eeee ooo and aaaah your way through making the mouth movements lol. I feel like I'll giggle to myself every time I attempt this you can't help but feel silly. Awesome!
This is great! Question: If I want to duplicate the head once rigged and have two separate operable rigs in same scene is that possible? If I just duplicate the rig it only gives you operation for one and you loose the original rig connections it seems...
Have you ever seen the interface start freaking out and flickering when using this technique? Like after you start clicking other parts of the interface the user data section will start flickering like a strobe light.
Great Tutorial Thanks.... What is the best way to obtain a relief volume / emboss from a picture (human body/face) in Cinema 4D.... I like to design a coin ... any tips please...thanks again
How do you have the sub divided mesh showing but with the point position of the un-divided mesh? When my SUB-D is engaged the points move and it is not as clear as when they are in the undivided positions.
Hey EJ, thank you for this but one problem I found in c4d is with the fact that the Brush and the Magnet Tools do not have symmetrical options in them but sadly the Magnet Tool is the only brush tool which enables users to adjust / move combined polygons together. Sadly the other sculpting brushes does not move polygons together when polygons are combined together eg. connect and delete.
You're right! This is why i didn't show the magnet or brush tools because of the limitations. It is helpful to use the Smooth tool though to smooth out the mouth when you move those points around. I'm not sure what you mean when you say the sculpting brushes don't move polygons together...they should!
@@eyedesyn so what I meant was that, provided you have a two separate polygons eg. A human character and it's beard mesh layering on top of the human mesh. In order to move/pose both meshes together with any of the sculpt brushes for pose morph, like example; the grab brushes. It's not possible in any of them apart from the Magnet tool. You can give it a try later. I can also make a little video to explain further if you want.
This is great, thank you! I got my mouth animations set up correctly, but how would I go about controlling other parts of the face on the same mesh - for example the skin around the eyes to make him squint. I tried two pose morph tags but they overrode each other. I tried adding the eye poses to the same tag as the mouth poses but this quickly got complicated and I struggled to set up the driver for it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you again!
yeah, you should use one pose morph tag. then just carefully select which morphs are driven by which driver tag location. 2 pose morph tags will fight each other as you've noticed.
EJ, you are my C4D HERO. It's easy to understand, even for a beginner.
Man, there are STILL so many features buried in cinema i never knew about. That driver tag is really cool. Thanks EJ!
I always say that even experts only know about 20% of the software - it's so massive and deep! Thanks for watching! :)
@@eyedesyn truth... You are the Yoda of Cinema 4D!

Truly wonderful tutorial ... thanks EJ.
So that’s what that driver tag does. Thanks EJ!!

great tutorial as always- thank
Excellent Tut, again. Thanks so much.
On another note, happy to see you made the jump to Redshift! 😁
Yeah I gotta say I'm enjoying Redshift so far - all the quality sliders take a bit to get a hang of!

Always, Thank you so much! I really like to watch your Tutorials a lot. Very Details. Thank you so much.

This is AMAZING! Can we add this face rig to a character imported from mixamo and combine it with the mixamo body rig?
That was really helpful! Thanks!
Happy to hear it! Thanks for watching!!!

EJ you're incredible, thank you so much! Do you know if there's any reason why dragging the slider into the view port wouldn't work when in R19?

Can you please make Full Character Rigging tutorial using new ToonRig?

What should I do if the animation does not work when rendering?

Nope its ok, found it. for anyone interested its in the viewport/Options/isoline editing
@@Motion-Graphics-Man Thanks, friend!

wish it would be auto lip synced with audio
Is there a way to transfer Moves by Maxon face capture data to a model like this?

I cannot download the file. I can't register. excelente tutorial.
Any chance at this works with version 18, or would it require a later release?
Hi there! The Joysticks n' Sliders functionality is available in Cinema 4D R17 and up.
Should work just fine!
Anybody know how to do eye blinks and moving pupils with this method? Seems like nobody does that in these rigs, it’s dot eyes 90% of the time.
anyone know how long the free trial period for Cinema 4D software lasts?
can someone help find tutorial how create hair like that or give me a tips plsss ! :)
I don't find the files 😭
Hi there! Click on the link in the video description and you can download the project file from the tutorial page on the School of Motion website.
