The old mechanic who is young, did it again, an excellent job, nice demonstration too. This is how it should be done. In old motorcycles it happens more often, and it's good to know what to do when it happens!!! Thanks!
You can always tell a good mechanic by watching there eyes when undoing something,he is looking around the area for any other issues when undoing the valve cover bolts, you know the bolts take a while to come out so its a good time to look around, its what we all do here in our workshop we never realised until someone mentioned it😂Excellent as always.
Tip use grease on the drill bit to help keep shavings from getting in the wrong places,I also step up in drill sizes till the final size, would use brake cleaner and a drop of Loctite on Helicoil
And, if possible, have the vacuum close to catch those "flyers". (can also use the woodburner door rope glue for the helicoil instead of Loctite). M6, into aluminum, is easy to strip.
The wise Old Mechanic,
👍🏻👊🏻😉
I forgot to say that ever since watching you work I use the torque wrench EVERY TIME now.
Randy

Thanks mate 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻😉
I love your videos, but you'd better wear glasses when you drill and when you blow on the hole just drilled. Chips likes to go in the eyes. 😉
Your absolute right mate ! 👍🏻👍🏻👊🏻
Very good video Old Mac. Love it.

Good job 👍 I had to helicoil the rear calliper on my r1100s because some heavy handed beast over torqued it previously….
