Its canon in the games, not sure about the anime, that they(at least Zoroark) can learn to speak human. There was that one NPC in pokemon B2W2 that looked like a hiker or whatever but turned out to be a Zoroark. It wasnt an important occurrence, at least not canon-wise, but i consider it to be a massive bit of world-building. Because if a Zoroark can do that, whos to say other pokemon cant? Like Team Rocket Meowth in the anime.
I like how the growlithe and riolu are pretty chill towards Cain. They both are upstanding sorts, and the rest of the forest that fears Cain would do well to heed their example.
In Japanese the dark type is essentially called the evil type, which is often reflected in the often cruel natures of some dark type species. That doesn’t mean that individual Pokémon shouldn’t be judged on their own character, but there’s a noticeable difference between most Togekiss that spread positive vibes everywhere they go and most Krookodile using their powerful jaws violently on anything they see move and then they Brick Break your kneecaps.
As someone on the Autism Spectrum, I relate to Cain on an emotional level. I’ve also had to deal with people whispering behind my back and treating me like I’m a monster simply because I’m different.
I know the feeling. I'm also on the Autism Spectrum. Didn't really know how to interact with people so, I kept to myself and just went with the motions.
When I first offered Cain and Mabel to the OVAS team it was after I had pitched Warriors of the Miraculous, Cain and Mabel seemed like a good mix given Pokemon comic dubs were doing well and I felt the stories being told in this slice of life comedy drama would serve as nice follow on act to Mew and Mewtwo. OVAS agreed and said once they got to a good point in Mew and Mewtwo they'd take on Cain and Mabel...then Covid hit and boy things went slower than British Rail in a snow storm. And then I got the announcement and my heart leapt, it was still happening and now it has happened! I can't say the voices are as I imagined them but my word they fit so well, Cain has an air of Sonic the Hedgehog confidence to him (when he gets round to evolving he may sound more like Shadow the Hedgehog XD), Mabel is sweet but still in her cute stage (funnily enough I imagined the voice actor for Huey doing Choccy rather than her, now that I am hearing it I can't hear it any other way though so good show!), Choccy is adorable in every sense of the word, Dasher is dutiful and lovable, and Boxer is voiced by god! That's right he' shares a voice with Arceus which is already giving me crazy funny strip ideas. As this series hopefully continues and garners interest and fans I know the great voice actors and video editors will do mine and my friends series just as great as they have started. It’s nice that the voice actors don’t follow all the words in the comic and fix the spellings or grammars in each scene to make it more fitting Such as Boxer offering Dasher some Tomato berries

Dasher seems to be affiliated with the administration in some way ("on patrol"). And the administrative staff were asked to watch out for Boxer. Since Cain seems to work with humans (either the administration or researchers) it would make sense that Dasher and Boxer would have some prior experience with him.
This will be covered in later pages but Dasher was a pokemon left at the preserve and he has aspirations to be a police dog so is a self appointed watcher hound of the preserve. Cain uses his illusion and copycat move to pass as human at the preserve so he can also help his friends in Santalune forest and to improve his understanding of the world. As Boxer is staying at the preserve until his trainer comes back for him Cain as a pokemon minder was tasked with watching over him
Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if one day Cain caught sight of himself in a reflective surface after getting the endings shocked style look and decided he liked it so decided to style his fur that way from then on.

What an impressive and talented little zorua being able to conjour fully tangible illusions that easily fool others. Cain certainly has alpha Pokémon blood in those veins for sure.
Funny you should say that, there is a pokemon with some alpha in them. Cain has the additional advantage of having the egg move copycat which enables him to make more sophisticated illusions

I liked this more than I thought. Glad about it. I also love the Pokemon chosen. The fennikin line is a favorite of mine due to the cute or cool ways they're drawn but their sorta derpy look in game. Can't wait to see more.

I am all for branching out to this new comic series! The voices were just as good as always, the editing was well done & the pacing was smooth. My favorite character so far is probably Cain, with Boxer as 2nd (mainly because I like Riolu).

At first, I thought it was some PMD stuff, but now it's the double life of a Zorua living among the humans, hiding in plain sight. Like them, he's more than meets the eye.
Man I really want to get into voice acting, the reason I say this is because dubed comics or anime always brings a smile to my face, and I want to be able to give the same smile to someone else

In the series we call it typism, as his race is Zorua/Zoroark and the bias seems to be against the whole dark type grouping.
Not that he cares. He has friends who know him well enough, even uses it in a positive manner.

A character does have their appearance changed on accident but decides to keep it in a future page. But it’s not Cain. Not yet anyway :P
