I am a 62 year old beginner. I made these slippers. It took me a LOT longer than an hour. I watched your video a dozen times to find out why they would fit the Jolly Green Giant or why the heel had 2 points. I’m saying all this to tell you that I have a craft learning disability and yet with your ever patient and caring voice I MADE SLIPPERS. Thank you so much. Now I’m off to watch another one of your videos. Thanks again Teri
Mine is enormous. I took everything out and reworked it 3 times. Each time it is super wide, I can't figure out what I'm missing. Edit: I figured it out! Fourth time is a charm! I made the mistake of listening through, but not always watching her.
If you prefer to use a magic circle to avoid a hole in your toe, remember to chain 2 at your magic circle to make it tall enough for your 10 double crochets. Your chain 2 does not count as a stitch. This is a lovely pattern! Thank you Kristi Simpson for this great pattern and your great guidance! Blessings!
I've been crocheting for over 50 years and I can say I really like this pattern. For those of you that are just learning, if our instructor doesn't mind, I can give you a tip. Some of you have said your slipper turned enormous. That's an indication that you are a loose crocheter. To fix that you can try 2 things. 1. Tighten up your stitches. Make a practice swatch and just work on getting the same tension with each stitch but tighten them up a bit. 2. The other thing you can do is try using a smaller hook, even if you have to go down 2 or 3 hook sizes. I hope you find this helpful and that you'll get much better results from this pattern. Crocheting is supposed to be fun and relaxing, not frustrating and tense. So try my tips and I'll bet you'll be turning out these lovely slippers for your whole family! Now, to my own question. Rather than starting this with the chains and then the 10 dc, why not do the magic ring? That way there won't be any toes peaking out through that starting hole. Just a gentle suggestion. Thank you for giving us your time to show us how to make these darling slippers!
She might have chosen not to do a magic ring so you didn't have to work in the tail at the toe. I might use a magic ring instead when I make them though.
@@Takpay , a magic ring is making a loop that you crochet into if you want to make round projects. It serves the same purpose as in the beginning when she chained and then slip stitched into the first chain to make a circle, but a magic ring has a tail that you can pull to make the ring more tight so you don't have a hole in the bottom of your project. There are tons of tutorials on TH-cam for how to make one. I know you most likely learned what It is by now, but I hope this helped!
I figured it out where we went wrong. For round four she said put a double crochet in each loop, which we read as put 2 stitches in each stitch, not put a single double crochet stitch so that there will only be 25 stitches of the double crochet in each row.
Still very new to crocheting myself but i’ve managed to make a few pairs with this great pattern!! This may be an obvious fix but i was not aware so maybe this will help someone else too... in order to make the slippers wider and longer (to fit bigger foot sizes) i used a larger hook and added more rows to the middle instead of stopping at row 11. Then when i got the length i needed i just followed up with the heel! Hope this helps anyone who was looking to slightly modify the pattern like i was!
. I've also made some of these slippers. I made my granddaughter some for saint Patrick's day. Hunter green and spring green the colors. And I'm add crochet four leaf clovers on theam and add gold coins to theam. I'm make me and my sister Dorothy some too for saints Patrick's day. But here is my question. My daughter in-law has a 10.Shoe size. So how many rows do I need to add to the pattern. Im using redheart super saver yarn. I have a J10 crochet hook and a k hook. That's the only too big sizes I have. I have lots little hook but I mostly use the J10 crochet hook and the k hook. Which schould I use for my daughter in-law slippers. I used the k hook for my granddaughter slippers and I'm use the same for mine and my sister. I only had to add one extra row for my granddaughter slippers. I'm probably going to have to add a extra row more for mine and my sister too. How many rows should I add for the size 10? Thanks Mrs Portia Roberson
Thank you so much. I am self taught years ago and recently a TH-cam student. This was awesome. My count was off and I’m not done but I am super pleased with my first attempt. You are awesome. Ignore the naysayers who criticize free content. I had to donate. So pay up or shut up! I am so over you ungrateful Internet fake bullies.
Love it. I made a pair for my wife today. I made flowers to put on them, too. Simple, fast, cozy, and cute. This is going to be my go-to slipper pattern. Thank you so much for sharing this with us! Edit: you can get pretty much the same cute slippers by using one strand of regular yarn. They're thinner but slightly easier and cheaper to make. Just wear them over socks and you'll not regret it.
Just came here to see if any men were learning to crochet, and found a man crocheting a gift for his wife! It's OK. I'm not crying. Y'all are crying, I'm not...just...
I made 60 pairs of these slippers for Christmas gifts for family, friends, Nurses at my local hospital. I made each and everyone of them in different colors. I absolutely love how easy it was to make them. Everyone loves them a huge thank you for sharing this with us. 🙂❤
@@stephanieclare2457 I realized what was the issue. In the third row, in the video she does 3 dc, then 2 dc all the way around. So in the 4th row when you do 1 dc in each stitch around, I had too many stitches. However when I did 3 dc, then 2 dc, only twice, or in 4 stitches and 1 dc in the remaining stitches, the slipper came out awesome! I ran out of yarn so I could only make one slipper, but I absolutely love it. ( the narrator said by the end of the third row you should have 25 stitches, way more than that by doing the 3dc, 2dc pattern in each stitch all around the 3rd row)
Soo I love this pattern. I've made 3 pairs and am half way through the 4th pair. I feel it's best to download the written pattern while you watch the video. I made quick progress doing the slippers this way a few times. Now I have the pattern basically memorized. So much fun and a great destresser!
Hi Kristi Simpson, I am a 74 year old beginner and just want to let you know that I am enjoying your Tutorials very much , but if I were in a Class you were teaching I am certain you would have have asked me to leave your class by now. I am a very slow learner , but thanks to this wonderful Program where I can go back unravel my work and start over and over again until I get it right , I either have my stitches too tight , too loose and I am learning that I can't just use any yarn to make it come out right, but I use it to practice until I at least get the Concept. Your Hour Slipper wound up finally getting done at 2:52 AM when I started at 8... Oh well I think the second one will go much better , and once I get the #5 Yarn it'll be beautiful . I am determined to master this, because I really do enjoy it . Thank you very much
christine thompson I am 71 and a pretty new crochet fanatic.. I love crochet and just keep at it and pretty soon it just all falls into place.. I never look to far ahead in the pattern, it is confusing, I just do each stitch as it comes up. And I love what I have made.. good luck to you...
I just made one slipper for the first time. It took me less than an hour. It fits well and is neither loose nor tight on my #10 size US woman's foot. I used 1.8 oz/50g of #5 ("bulky") wool roving and a 5mm hook if that helps anyone to figure out a guage or how much yarn, etc. Great tutorial! The only thing I would suggest: for those of you familiar with the treble crochet stitch, when you are doing the shell stitches along the top edge and you get to the part across the bridge of the foot (the "7 stitch" section), skip 3 stitches instead of two, do "1 treble, 5 double, 1 treble" in the center stitch, then skip 3 before slip stitching one and going down the other side. The shells will then be symmetrical, will match up nicely at the back and you'll have one little larger shell on the front center.
Not sure what I did wrong, but my shells came out perfect at the end. Thank you so much for adding those instructions though. My second slipper may not come out the same.....LOL
i love these slippers! so easy to follow.... i've made over 25 pairs and donated to local VA hospital! i did use regular yarn and i did double strands which makes them super warm.
Patricia Jackson I think using a bigger hook would make the spaces between the stitches bigger and they wouldn’t be as warm. I’d use the same size hook, just add more rows. My bf wants me to make him a pair as well and he’s also size 11 and that’s what I plan to do
Oh my gosh these are awesome!! There is a 91 year young lady in my Sunday school...her feet ache so bad from arthritis, we drew names for a lady to pray for over a months time and this ends on December 1st and then we tell who we have been praying for...I prayed into these slippers and will be giving them to her this coming Sunday...I've made other slippers but this will now be my new favorite ❤ God Bless You
Just made these slippers as my 1st crochet project. Really easy, great instructions throughout. It took me 6 hours, but hey again it was my very 2st project.
I watched a lot of youtube tutorials on how to make slippers, and this is a top ranking tutorial for me! It is simple to do (even though it can be challenging to learn) and once you've mastered the style it is easy to modify to suit the needs of the wearer =) I also am a fan of chunky crochet in general, because I like things to be fast
This is a very simple and easy pattern to follow!! It took me about 2 & 1/2 hours to make the first pair. It was quicker with the second pair!! Thank you so much!!
I had a pair of these made for me years ago, and wasn't sure if they'd be a good alternative to slippers, as I have very sore feet. - turned out, they were the most comfortable things I've ever worn, and I have been looking for instructions for them ever since, so I am delighted to have come across this video - thank you, from the bottom of my soles! 💛
I've just finished making these slippers. Loved making them for my mother. Can't wait to give them to her. It's a just because present WOW!!! So easy to make. Thank you so much.
I made my husband these slippers. I made so many different ones for him and he said these ones are the best! I worked with chunky yarn that called for a 8-9mm crochet hook but used a 5mm. My hand was hurting but they came out great! Thanks for sharing this easy pattern.
To everyone complaining about her going too fast: 1. this is not a video to teach you stitches. If you are unfamiliar with SC, HDC, or DC you shouldn't be jumping into a project. Look up videos on those stitches and learn to do them FIRST. 2. this is a youtube video, you have the power to pause, play, rewind, fast forward and slow down the tutorial to a slower speed.
Elizabeth Johnson I agree! You shouldn’t start off with something so difficult. If I would have watched this before I did a hit or a scarf (or even a granny square) I would have fainted.
@@Patrish285 she means a beginner to projects not crochet at all I know that I learned the basic stitches first I made lots of wonky dishcloths for my Mother way before I did a real project. I also knit, make Glass Beads on a torch, make jewelry, and sew bras and underwear as a business. No body tries any of these things without a whole bunch of "first you learn" steps.
I just made a set of these for myself as a trial. I have tiny feet so I had to adjust the pattern. I wrote the changes down for myself at the bottom of the original pattern. My MIL saw them and has asked me to make her a set. Her feet are bigger than mine so I will measure her feet as I get fully into the pattern and adjust as I go. Thank you so much for a wonderful and easily adjustable pattern.
Great recipe, easy to follow! I adjusted and added a stitch (and 12th full round) and made my grandfather some slippers! I'm making a pair of tall socks next. Easiest sock recipe by FAR. Easier than the one piece flat ones.
I absolutely love simple designs like this! It creates the freedom to be able to play with it to make the size that you want... to the struggling beginners, please dont give up and try again. Sometimes with new patterns on you tube it's best to watch the video a few times before ever picking up your hook. Always pause the video between rows and do what you just saw before moving on. Remember- When in doubt, stitch it out! We learn far more from our mistakes than we do from completing the stitches correctly. Yes, it can be infuriatingly tedious to repeat the same row several times but ALL experienced stitchers and especially the people that make these videos RIP and redo all the time. Its apart of the learning process and it's ok. You are not any less talented for it, as a matter of fact it WILL make you better. Most of the stitches and favorite patterns I've made came from messing up other projects and it just clicked! Be patient with your patterns and yourselves. It will work out :-)
Love this pattern and wow you crochet fast! I kept pausing the video to keep up. I finished my first one and couldn't wait to try it on but it looked really long. It was 2 rows too long for me. So I ripped out and started the heel after 9 rounds, not 11. I think this is a great pattern for beginners and so so easy to adjust to your correct size. Thanks for posting and I hope one day I can be as fast as you!
I DID IT!!!! And your right, just don't be intimidated, just keep at it. Thanks for the encouragement. All 5 of my family are getting slippers. Perfect video well done!
I've never had any problems following this pattern. Gotten slippers every single time. Don't know where some people are going wrong in the pattern. It's pretty straight forward when you watch her and do what she says to do. Always go back and rewatch beforehand so you understand what is going on. 🙂
I have been wanting to make a pair of slippers and this is great, I used 2 strands of Lion Brand Wool-ease together with an H hook and ended with 2 rows of hdc instead of the shell. I wear a US man’s 9 1/2 shoe and they fit! I am so happy Thank you so much for sharing this pattern
Y’all... when she starts ROUND 3 you’re supposed to do ONE single crochet into the next three stitches and TWO into the next one after that and repeat... NOTTTTT three double crochet in the first stitch then 2 double crochet in the next... I started over three times and finally saw the comments 🥵
This is my fifth time starting over. Wish I’d read the comments first. I had no ide why mine were ending up a mans size 20! I was doing 3 dc into the first stitch snd then 2 dc into the next stitch then continuing for the whole row. It’s so not clear in the video.
I was following a different tutorial and was so confused, the instruction was to 'keep doing the same' from rows 3-9! Didn't make sense, it'll just keep being a bigger circle if you're doing two in every stitch! It's funny that more than one tutorial has that issue, glad I'm not the only one confused lol
I followed the video and like many had to back it up several times to catch the way something was done and I was so pleased with the outcome.!!!I have never crocheted anything other than a scarf or blanket, nothing with shape, this was exciting ,thank you!!!
Made my first pair of slippers. I took me a whole evening to make the pair but that was due mostly to the learning curve of employing a new pattern. The second one worked up so much faster. Thank you for the well laid out how to do instructions.
Thank you. I was able to follow along. They fit my mom, size 7. I used medium 4 with 5 mm hook. Then noticed you used chunky yarn. My booboo was ok, this time because it fit. Going to make another pair with the chunky yarn and see if they will fit a size 9. Crocheting almost a year now, this project was easy, loved your explanations and hints. Thanks again.
I never thought I would be able to make slippers. I have always wanted to since they were gifted to me years ago. I just learned how to crochet just over a year ago and I thought I would give this set of slippers a try. The first one was too big for my daughter so I adjusted the hook and yarn, the second one was too small so I adjusted it again and now I think I have it right !! I am so excited. She will have hand made slippers for Christmas. Thank you for your video. It was easy to follow. I will watch more of your video's in the future. Thank you so much for doing this video! Dawn
If it's too fast, pause the video so you can catch up OR click on the video, on the right top of screen is 3 little dots. Click on them and it will bring down a menu. Click on "playback speed".. you can slow video down!
Hi...(I am Linda...I use my husband, Rob's utube, ..but it's me😊)....what a fabulous pattern. Thank you so much, for sharing your knowledge. I made the slippers and they are great. Now I just did another pair but I added 2 more d/c rows to make it a "slipper/sock"...then I did the shell. They are a little higher, and just a little more on the leg. I'll be sure to be looking for more of your videos...you are a very good teacher.
Not so much my yarn tension was not fitting my size 9 sometimes 10 feet..I also went a few more rounds before the finish so it would go up more on my ankle..thanks for the reply...its a great pattern.
@@patriciajackson3883 I used the 5 hook....i have made so many...I love thus pattern.....then I soak them in hair conditioner over night😊....and they come out so soft...good luck
I've just finished making one boot and that took me about 8 hours 😂😂 I had to reduce the number of stitches a lot to avoid it being enormous but with trial and error it worked out. I added a few rounds to make it a bit higher up the ankle. The biggest challenge will be making the second boot the same!!
Hello Kristi, thank you sooo much for your great tutorial. I am sitting here with my very first (finished) project on my foot. I say foot because I am about to start the other sock. I love it(them). You teach the masses very well and I will be for ever grateful for this. I am crocheting them for a friend, and she was very excited when she saw a half of the sock, imagine when she sees them both. Love you and your work. PS. You Kristi can teach an old dog new tricks. Bye
I have a size 8 1/2 US women's foot. I have a narrow foot so width was perfect but I had to add two extra rows to the foot (before beginning the heel) to get the right length. It was very smug on my foot but fit well.
I made my first ever pair of slippers with this tutorial. I ended up using worsted weight yarn and a size J hook. I made them for my SO and added 2 rows in the heel section to accommodate his larger foot. The first slipper took me a couple hours of stopping and staring the video, but the 2nd went so much faster. Thankyou for the easy to follow instructions. I also just did a straight half double crochet edging that peaks in a treble crochet where the tongue of a shoe would be to create a straighter/more masculine edge.
Whomever would give this video a thumbs down is just being snarky. The tutorial is very clear and so easy to follow. The slippers fit a size 8 foot perfectly and is very easily adjusted for larger AND smaller sizes (I'm making many of these for stocking suffers for sizes ranging from a child's size 7 to a women's size 11!). They're cute and they're comfy! Thanks so much!
I made these over the Thanksgiving week I spent with friends. Made four pair for my friend and three pair for me. My friend just loved them and so did I. So easy and quick. As you suggested I played around with the size and style a little and had a lot of fun. Thanks for your video. It will be one of my favorites.
I just made my first slipper! It’s soooo cozy! Now I have to let my hands rest so I can make the second one. Bulky yarn is so hard on my hands. Thank you for the great pattern!
Help! I have tiny feet size 5 1/2 or 6. Could someone please tell me how To alter the rows to accommodate for my feet. Should I not make as many rounds on the sole or decrease the amt of rows In the heel? Please thank you
@@UnicornDee thank you I was wondering this too. For my size I had to take off two rows on the heel and they're a comfortable fit but this could be because I used two strands of what I think was chunky that has been tightly wound into a ball. And I didn't want to waste time making a swatch... I live dangerously 🤪 😇 now im hoping my other half of my pair will turn out good too. And also hoping I can recreate these for a male friend with feet 2cm larger than mine using this same method, wish me luck 😅 🤓
I’ve been knitting for about a year, but I’ve just started learning to crochet in the last week or so, and besides a simple couch throw blanket, this was my first real project! It took me almost exactly 2 hours to do one slipper but it turned out amazing! (I skipped the scalloping on the edges.) I’m naturally a tight knitter and that worked in my favor for these. On to the second, which I’m sure will work up much faster now that I know what I’m doing.
I did these last yr for xmas for presants. I didn't have chunky yarn so I used two strands of yarn . Came out great. Put polyurethane grout on the bottom so they wouldn't slide around. I think it's called polyurethane I can't remember right now just ck TH-cam.
My favorite slippers! I usually have the makings in my travel bag. I have paired acrylic with fentex and sometimes add a leather sole.... it all works!
Hi! I love th is easy sock tutorial! I was struggling with making heals for the longest time and I'm sooo glad I came across your video, I am no longer intimidated to make heals on socks with this easy method. Thank you Sooo MUCH for sharing your technique 😀
I have been crocheting for many years but I have never been able to make myself a pair of slippers, until I watched your video!!! They are sooo easy to make. Whipped them up in no time and now have them on!!! Thank you.
Hi Mrs Kathie I was wondering if you could help me. I've made these slippers 4 pairs already. But I need to make my freind a pair she wears a 8 wide . I don't no how to get to that size. How do I do that. All I can manage to make is a 6 to a 7. Im new to crochet slippers. This is a amazing pattern so easy. But for some reason I can't get to the size 8 wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. God Bless you. Mrs Portia Roberson
The heel directions start at Row 12, so to make the sock longer (to fit a bigger size), I just keep adding rows until I get the necessary length, and then I do the Row 12-19 directions. Row 3 makes the sock bigger around by adding 5 stitches, so if you need the sock to fit a "fatter" foot, just repeat Row 3 directions as many times as you need until you get the diameter to fit the foot. Likewise, if you're making the sock for a "skinny foot," you can delete the Row 3 directions, and just continue on with row 2 directions. Also, you don't have to use the edging shown in the video. Check out other videos. In some socks I make, I thread a ribbon or piece of yarn around the top of the sock so you can adjust the fit by tying the ribbon/yarn into a bow. This is nice if your feet swell. You can loosen the ribbon to pull the sock on, then tighten it to make the sock fit around the leg/ankle.
Great!!!! You are a great teacher. I had trouble to start but I took it apart and used smaller hook and tighter stitches and got a beautiful slipper. I used two strands. One regular and one velvet strand. Nice and soft. I especially love the rounded heel because in so many patterns you have the pointed heels which I hate. And also you get a seam in the back on other patterns and I don’t like that either. This is really a nice finish. I’m going to doll it up with a flower on the side. ITS ALL ABOUT THE TENSION!! As usual. Thank you for a great pattern!
You're going so fast 😣☹️ ****Update**** I learned to pause lol. I watched the video and paused it when I needed to. I ended up making a bunch of these for my family for Christmas. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!!
I taught myself to crochet by watching TH-cam.. I don't think your going fast .. I watch I paid the video I crochet and then come back.. I don't think or expect to go as fast as the video .. that's why there is a pause/stop button
I just made this and it came out great! And I’ve not been successful with easy slippers til now. I’ve crocheted a long time but I had never made slippers til recently. Best pattern I’ve found for a simple slipper.
you have to count that you have enough stitches for each round. when you chain 2 it normally would count as one of the stitches in this pattern it does not and fills the gap between your first double crochet and the last. some patterns count the chain builder you do at the beginning of a round and some patterns do not.
Yeah, she doesn’t explain it very slowly... not the best for beginners. Start with a hat if you’re new with crocheting in the round and double crochets.
There's a comment thread with this exact information from some other helpful TH-camrs, so I'm just going to copy what they said: one usre suggested to just add a few more rows till you get to the heel of the foot, and another said to repeat on the third row (31 stitches total), then when it came to making the heal/ankle end, ad 2 rows. On the reducing rows, reduce at stitch 6, and on the second reduction row reduce at stitch 4.
Love this! I have been wanting/trying to make slippers for years and this is the 1st time it came out right. I am not new to crocheting but I don't do complicated stiches or patterns. I was able to follow along (pausing the video when I needed it) and have completed one slipper and it fits perfect. Now onto the matching one. Thank you for the video!
Great tutorial, thank you! I started with a magic circle and they turned out great. Now to play with stitch counts to accommodate a toddler as my daughter now wants a "matchy matchy" pair haha
FYI, the written pattern does not say how many chains to make. I had to get back on TH-cam in order to get that info (4 chains). I’ll probably use magic ring though. Just thought you’d like to know. Thanks for tutorial
I am so confused...when doing the third row with the three in one stitch then two in the next, i got a whole bunch more than 25 stitches, so the entire thing is getting well out of hand
she meant do ONE double crochet stitch in three SEPARATE stitches, then for the fourth stitch, do TWO double crochet stitches both in the same stitch. and then repeat till the end. hope this helps!
When I wieghed the slipper I just made, it weighed exactly 50 grams. Don't know it that means a 100g skein will yeild 2 slippers or if you'll come up just a little short. I guess I'll find out, too, when I make the other slipper!!
I’ve been making various slipper patterns for a couple of months. Yours, by far, is the easiest and most versatile! Can’t wait to add my own ideas to it. Thanks so much!
Your video was right on for me. I've made hat's and scarves bit not a slipper. I did add more roews to go above my ankle. My shoe size is 91/2 so I did have to add extra row/round. But it was more than an hour for me. Lol but I did both not 1 first then the other. Thank you very much for your video. I will be do I doing more, dc/double crochet is the easiest, most common. Thank you. I'll post pics later.
62 and learning, too! Never too old to learn! :)
Mine would fit big foot. Have no idea what I did wrong. Will make it into a hat for grandchild.
Mine is enormous. I took everything out and reworked it 3 times. Each time it is super wide, I can't figure out what I'm missing.
Edit: I figured it out! Fourth time is a charm! I made the mistake of listening through, but not always watching her.
what was the fix because mine are huge.
I recommend putting a loose piece of different color yarn as a marker. So you don't loose your place and make more rows
I'm a newbie. What is the magic ring that you mentioned

Great idea!
I got a hat out of mine, don't know where I went wrong but I like the hat.
Ha Ha Thats funny. At least its something nice.
mine is the same it looks like a coster really
lol hard
I hear you. It doesn't make sense as it got wider sort of like a round place mat. It's huge, and I followed directions to the t.
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
Thanks. Really helped
Great info, even though it's two years old, still very helpful
🙂❤
Help!!! Mind are coming out too big!!!
@@erickajohnson9950 I used different size hooks when I made mine! 6mm for men 4 4.5 5mm for ladies. Hope this helps
Merry Christmas

@@stephanieclare2457 I’ll try it. Thank you so much for responding!!!
@@erickajohnson9950 Your welcome!
I am 67 years old and am excited to do these
I am a I don't know how many years crocheter but am a beginner pattern crocheter and find these slippers a perfect beginner's project thank you
I just made one slipper for the first time.
Oh thank goodness! I was worried that they were only for smaller feet. I wear 10.5 size US.
Not sure what I did wrong, but my shells came out perfect at the end. Thank you so much for adding those instructions though. My second slipper may not come out the same.....LOL
Thais Gloor
,
Thanks...this is helpful
Was the 50g for one slipper or both?
i love these slippers! so easy to follow.... i've made over 25 pairs and donated to local VA hospital! i did use regular yarn and i did double strands which makes them super warm.
Very sweet of you
How much yarn do you need to make a pair?
shady Lnu double strands? Sorry I’m a beginner and I’m not sure what that is. So sweet of you to donate them!!
I made them also for Mother’s Day gifts for my daughters but now a friend wants a pair and she wears a size 11 do you think I should use a bigger hook
It once took me over 8 hours to sew a "1 hour" men's shirt. Don't feel too bad. :-)
I watched a lot of youtube tutorials on how to make slippers, and this is a top ranking tutorial for me! It is simple to do (even though it can be challenging to learn) and once you've mastered the style it is easy to modify to suit the needs of the wearer =)
I also am a fan of chunky crochet in general, because I like things to be fast
This is a very simple and easy pattern to follow!! It took me about 2 & 1/2 hours to make the first pair. It was quicker with the second pair!! Thank you so much!!
I love watching you, and I am going to crochet this slipper, I've been crocheting for 40 years, and I can just about crochet anything.

Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
I made my husband these slippers.
Elizabeth Johnson =
Stop, reverse, rewind is a real thing.
Elizabeth Johnson fair, but she does say “if you are a beginner don’t be intimidated” so it’s a tad misleading
I just finished my first slipper now let's hope the twin will be the same! Thanks so much. My husband likes it.
It will work out :-)
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
I tried it. It turned out just fine.. please keep sharing more tutorials. Measurements are perfect too. Thank you
Love this pattern and wow you crochet fast!
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
I DID IT!!!!
No you do three dc and then an increase
This is my fifth time starting over. Wish I’d read the comments first. I had no ide why mine were ending up a mans size 20!
I was doing 3 dc into the first stitch snd then 2 dc into the next stitch then continuing for the whole row.
It’s so not clear in the video.
me too
I was following a different tutorial and was so confused, the instruction was to 'keep doing the same' from rows 3-9! Didn't make sense, it'll just keep being a bigger circle if you're doing two in every stitch! It's funny that more than one tutorial has that issue, glad I'm not the only one confused lol
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
I followed the video and like many had to back it up several times to catch the way something was done and I was so pleased with the outcome.!!!I have never crocheted anything other than a scarf or blanket, nothing with shape, this was exciting ,thank you!!!
I can’t believe I actually made these! It was really easy. Thank you!!!
Made my first pair of slippers. I took me a whole evening to make the pair but that was due mostly to the learning curve of employing a new pattern. The second one worked up so much faster. Thank you for the well laid out how to do instructions.
I loved making these! Your instructions and calming voice make it really easy to follow, thank you for being so patient and sharing your knowledge💜
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
Try using 2 strands of medium 4 together. They make a great pattern and they will fit perfectly. I love mine.
Thank you...it doesn't get any easier than this! You explained it perfectly! Not sure why people gave you a thumbs down. Super simple pattern. :-)
Thank you I could never make a pair of slippers to match ... But now with your easy to follow directions success finally I love them !!!!!!!!!!!!
Just made my first pair with a thinner yarn but I still love the outcome! Thank you!
I’m glad I found your comment. I have tons of yarn but not bulky. Did you find it fit all sizes. Kid to adult. Thank you
I never thought I would be able to make slippers. Dawn
Thanks! You are a GREAT teacher:How- What and What. Thanks!
I'm glad it worked for you!
I've been crocheting baby booties, socks. Hats, wanted to switch it up. I love this. My first pair came out amazing. Thanks!

Thanks for that tip! Never knew that...
just finished these slippers. They are the easiest and nicest looking crochet slippers I have made. Thank you so much.
My first slipper took about 6 hours ad turnd out to be a bowl shape. I made a bowl holder now. On to attempt 2.
Blk Rose good morning did you use the five hook or a larger hook for your size feet because someone wants me to make them a pair
@@patriciajackson3883 I used the 5 hook....i have made so many...I love thus pattern.....then I soak them in hair conditioner over night😊....and they come out so soft...good luck
I've just finished making one boot and that took me about 8 hours 😂😂
I had to reduce the number of stitches a lot to avoid it being enormous but with trial and error it worked out. I added a few rounds to make it a bit higher up the ankle. The biggest challenge will be making the second boot the same!!
thanks for this tutorial it was very easy thanks to your instructions and by the way you have a very sweet voice. ...
Thank you for saying what size this pattern fits.
This is the best slipper sock pattern I’ve ever found. (It’s easy and IT FITS!) Thank you ❤❤❤
Thanks a lot. Very nicely explained and very easy.
I made these over the Thanksgiving week I spent with friends. Made four pair for my friend and three pair for me. My friend just loved them and so did I. So easy and quick. As you suggested I played around with the size and style a little and had a lot of fun. Thanks for your video. It will be one of my favorites.
How do I accommodate to make a size 11 slipper? Add a few rows after row 11?
I just made my first slipper! It’s soooo cozy! Now I have to let my hands rest so I can make the second one. Bulky yarn is so hard on my hands. Thank you for the great pattern!
Wish you use different easy to see color yarn!
Love your pattern, no pointed heel. First time making a slipper it turned out great. Thank you.
Help! I have tiny feet size 5 1/2 or 6. Could someone please tell me how To alter the rows to accommodate for my feet. Should I not make as many rounds on the sole or decrease the amt of rows In the heel? Please thank you
Kim Love try using a smaller hook
Take out a couple of rows in the rows 4-11 section.
Holly how did you figure out the sizes ?
For linger slipper I would do more than the 11 as stated in tutorial, if need smaller less than 11
I did these last yr for xmas for presants. I didn't have chunky yarn so I used two strands of yarn . Came out great. Put polyurethane grout on the bottom so they wouldn't slide around. I think it's called polyurethane I can't remember right now just ck TH-cam.
You can also use a hot glue gun for the non slipping add
My favorite slippers! I usually have the makings in my travel bag. I have paired acrylic with fentex and sometimes add a leather sole.... it all works!
How much yarn do I need to make a pair of these slippers.
Thank you

Hi Mrs Kathie I was wondering if you could help me. I've made these slippers 4 pairs already. But I need to make my freind a pair she wears a 8 wide . I don't no how to get to that size. How do I do that. All I can manage to make is a 6 to a 7. Im new to crochet slippers. This is a amazing pattern so easy. But for some reason I can't get to the size 8 wide. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. God Bless you. Mrs Portia Roberson
my hubby wants these for him minus the edging....should I just add rows then just stop with round 10
That should work! :)
As usual. Thank you for a great pattern!
idk why i was on the same row and count of stitches as you, but mine turned out to look like more of a flipper instead of a slipper😂😂 its giant
Just finished these slippers. Thank for sharing. They turned out just right for my feet.
You're going so fast 😣☹️
****Update****
I learned to pause lol. I watched the video and paused it when I needed to. I ended up making a bunch of these for my family for Christmas. Thanks for the awesome tutorial!!
You can adjust video speed via the cogwheel symbol, bottom right of the video.
Thank you your video revealed to me all the mistakes I had been making from past videos of same slippers. Thank you again... I subscribed
I taught myself to crochet by watching TH-cam.. I don't think your going fast .. I watch I paid the video I crochet and then come back.. I don't think or expect to go as fast as the video .. that's why there is a pause/stop button
You can give clases you know everything.
Marcy Medley That is exactly what I do... it keeps me from getting frustrated... I love crochet ...
I just made this and it came out great! And I’ve not been successful with easy slippers til now. I’ve crocheted a long time but I had never made slippers til recently. Best pattern I’ve found for a simple slipper.
Minute 1: I am fully confuzzled.
Itachi Uchiha me too. The chain two not counting as a stitch. I got totally lost
you have to count that you have enough stitches for each round. when you chain 2 it normally would count as one of the stitches in this pattern it does not and fills the gap between your first double crochet and the last. some patterns count the chain builder you do at the beginning of a round and some patterns do not.
Yeah, she doesn’t explain it very slowly... not the best for beginners. Start with a hat if you’re new with crocheting in the round and double crochets.
Itachi Uchiha how could anyone at allll be confused by this tutorial??? It’s so easy to follow 🤦♀️
Emma Philpott I think she explains it fantastical.
These are, without a doubt, the absolute Best slippers I have ever made! I used a washable wool they’re perfect and I can do 1 in an hour.
I have a friend with severe edema who would love these. Is it possible to adjust the width to accommodate extra wide feet?

Muy lindas gracias.
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
Great tutorial, thank you!
This was such an easy pattern to follow with perfect results. Thank you so much for your time and expertise.
You are NOT fast!!!! Thank you for the video.
It doesnt matter how fast or slow you are, we all get to the same end result!!
Good morning! I want to say this is probably the best example for making slippers. Can't wait to try it! Thank you for sharing!
Can you use two strands of worsted weight Yarn instead of bulky weight ?
dawn Amendola thats what I always do. And it comes out fine
Yes size 4 worsted weight doubled is fine, and use one ball of variegated and one solid. Works up beautifully.
I would like children's slippers
Yes you can I have
Thank you for this video.i enjoy watching you.its so easy.im gonna make some for my family.have a blessed day.God bless u.❤🎉
I am so confused...when doing the third row with the three in one stitch then two in the next, i got a whole bunch more than 25 stitches, so the entire thing is getting well out of hand
jo tripodi LOL I love this comment!!!!!!!
she meant do ONE double crochet stitch in three SEPARATE stitches, then for the fourth stitch, do TWO double crochet stitches both in the same stitch. and then repeat till the end. hope this helps!
Same here!
I didn't have bulky yarn so I used what I had. Ended up altering the pattern a little and made it to fit my 6 year old daughter. Came out pretty cute
Would I just need a single 100g ball of yarn to make these? Or will I need 2 balls? I'm terrible at judging how much yarn to buy for a project :S
When I wieghed the slipper I just made, it weighed exactly 50 grams. Don't know it that means a 100g skein will yeild 2 slippers or if you'll come up just a little short. I guess I'll find out, too, when I make the other slipper!!
I got 2 slippers out of 1 100g ball using the yarn she used in the video. I had about 1 yard left over.
I’ve been making various slipper patterns for a couple of months. Yours, by far, is the easiest and most versatile! Can’t wait to add my own ideas to it. Thanks so much!
Good afternoon my dear friend I am william from New York City and you
What size slipper does your pattern make?
Men or women?
I used #5 wool roving and a 5mm hook and came up with a slipper that fits my #10 women's foot like the pattern was made for me.
