I am beyond happy that you two finally had your encounter with the Bean Goose! So exciting, rewarding, and worth the effort. Thanks for taking us along on the journey!
Wingsandbeaks ~ Excited, exhausted , disappointed , hopeful, elated. What a panacea of emotions! Victory is sweet!! What a beautiful and unusual siting of a bean goose. Thanks for sharing.
Congratulations! I struck out on my first attempt as well. I forced my non-birding spouse to watch your first video to help him understand the feelings of dejection and frustration of missing a major bird. You guys really nailed the ups and downs of a major chase like this!
CONGRATS! After scoring the Pink-footed Goose in Kentucky, I was really wanting to make the drive to Iowa for this goose, and now I want to make the long drive to eastern Pennsylvania for the Barnacle Goose. I've got goose fever here in Michigan! #wildgoosechase
@@BadgerlandBirding by the way, you guys were looking dog-tired midday on this chase. Did you make the long drive back home that day, or spend the night somewhere?
So happy for you! Finding a bird that's been eluding you is so fantastic. We finally saw a Great Horned Owl at a NWR that everyone but us seem to be seeing. We actually saw two. A sleepy adult keeping its eye on a first year juvenile. I love me my bird nerd peeps.
It seems this goose is really rare in the US. In my area (North germany) you can find it quite often im wintertime. The pink footed geese is more rare here. Well done guys. Greets Stefan
@@brandonriley296 Ruddy Turnstones are infrequent but I’ve had them at McKinley Beach. Bradford Beach may have some cool stuff but it will probably have a bunch of people on it. Lake Park nearby is great for warblers and other species. The whole Lakefront should be good for ducks! Other areas further south to check would be Lakeshore State Park, Warnimount Park and Grant Park. A little further from the coast, Wehr Nature Center is really cool too!
Giving me flashbacks to my 16 dips on seeing the parakeet auklet over two years before FINALLY finding him!!!

@@darylbernard2616 same day lol
It's a lot easier to scan through waterfowl if you're not solely reliant on your camera. It's time to start using binoculars! 😏
😮
Congrats on finding your goose🎉🎉🎉
Congrats on the great find!

Way to go!
Beeeaaan gooose!
I’m heading to Milwaukee area this may during Memorial Day weekend. Any recommendations for where I should check out birds? Thanks!
Awesome! What specific species are you looking for?
@@BadgerlandBirding Honestly anything, but ducks and warblers if I had to pick.
@@BadgerlandBirding Ruddy Turnstone would be cool too!
