Brilliant rendition Rahul ji!❤️ I am not a gyaani of music, but when you initially started singing, I couldn't help but think, that you are probably on a higher octave than the original. And you, playing with the tempo of the song was also clearly distinguishable, when you were slowing down at "bas ek chao zulf ki".... It was only after hearing your explanation about the raag behind the song, was I able to understand why you were showing us so many variations. You really help common folks like us to understand, what exactly the composer and the singer were thinking. Khoob dhanyawad 🙏 On a side note, I have heard this song so many times in Rafi Sahab's voice, that I have developed a personal bias towards it. Whenever I listen to any other version, I look for the carefree attitude with which the original was sung. It sometimes makes me wonder, how well the singers of yesteryears, accessed the situation in which a song is to be picturised. I guess, that is a result you get when you put your soul into a song. This can only happen if you treat music as God and do Riyaz (pooja) to him every moment.This Song is very special to me because The location where this Song was shot I had seen it in Gulmarg in September.1963. The Avenue of Tall trees is still etched in my memory.Music was created by Lord Shiva.I have experienced the vibrations whenever I have visited the Himalayas including Mount kailash..The Abode of Shiva Makes you sing even if you dont know the Raagas.Your existence on the Hill forces your mind to feel it which reaches your heart ,then you start singing and the Gods hear you.
