- Whip and Deacon come to an understanding. Bridget says the facts have been in front of her the entire time, but she refused to see her mother for the person she really is. Bridget is sickened that her mother could steal a man away from her own daughter. Bridget scathingly tells her mother she doesn’t need to stay in a loveless marriage and should just follow her heart to Deacon. Brooke promises that no one will ever find out about this -- she won’t embarrass Bridget. Bridget tells Brooke this is their final good-bye, she doesn’t want Brooke trying to win her back. Stephanie enters as Bridget is exiting, but both stop in their tracks when Brooke announces she’s in labor.

Bridget really sounds like Stephanie here telling Brooke she's living in a fantasy (12:45) and bitterly mocking her with "follow your heart." (14:56) These are key aspects of the main personality conflict between Stephanie and Brooke where Brooke always thinks she’s the romantic heroine in a fairytale story but in reality her pursuit of love means hurting others destroying lives (for more on this, see my post in episode 3795 when Stephanie confronts Brooke about her affair with Deacon). All of this makes it even more disappointing that Brad Bell didn’t follow through with this potential and make Bridget into a new Stephanie who opposes Brooke. This should’ve been the origin story for a new intra-family feud where Bridget gets folded into Stephanie’s side of the family and spends the rest of her life in conflict with her mother. But instead Brad Bell lets the storyline end with everything reset, the slate wiped clean, and everyone goes back to their corners just like the end of a sitcom episode.
Very well said. I completely agree with you about how this storyline should've played out. You don't have Brooke do something like this to her daughter only to sweep it under the rug afterward.
Yes! This storyline should have _permanently_ changed the relationship between Brooke and Bridget. It's strange that every time someone is set up to become Stephanie's successor, the show just plays with the idea but ultimately drops it.

Jennifer Finnigan is _kiIIing_ it in these episodes! Bridget is intense, focused, heartbroken, furious, sarcastic, empty, and JF balances all those emotions masterfully, playing the transitions between them like a skilled musician. The way she says "I'm gone", and then "Go for it. Follow your heart", is chilling. I am in awe. 👏

The sad thing is Brooke is right, Bridget will forgive her some day, even though she doesn't deserve it. It's unfortunate. This fiery and intense version of Bridget is giving us here is far more dynamic and interesting than what she regresses back to.
That's what makes these scenes hard for me to enjoy. Knowing that it goes nowhere and that the slate gets wiped clean all too easily just makes all of this seem pointless. Like you and I have been saying, if you're going to do a crazy storyline like this, you need to commit to it, including to the fallout.
The worst thing was what Bridget said to Stephanie when they all confronted her for faking her heart attack- “apologies to my mother” so sickening 🤢
@@orifeldman3213 And then Stephanie correctly replies, _"Your_ forgiveness is the most astonishing of all" and proceeds to recount the Brooke/Deacon/Bridget obscenity.

And worse .. bridgit continues to defend her mother against Steph, which is why I really can't feel too sorry for her, as much as I love her reaction now. Disappointing that she didn't keep this energy, that Steph has to be back to being the only one who actually sees Brooke as she really is, and more disappointing that Brooke always comes out relatively unscathed...
Even rewarded by eventually getting to have a child with Ridge which was her life's work. If Macy was never able to have the child with Forrester she always wanted neither should Brooke have gotten that reward.
First Brooke broke the girl code with Caroline
Then she broke The mother and daughter bond twice Bridget and Hope
Last she broken the sister bond with Katie
She also broke the mother / daughter code by being with Eric who was the love of her own mother's life

Brooke will literally say anything and throw anyone under the bus to save her own hide.
Last episode she was telling Deacon to be the model husband to bridgit for the rest of his life... Now she's ready to send him away, as if *he* is the problem here...
It really bothers me how _Deacon alone_ will end up bIamed for this situation, and the only one who will actually lose something as a result. Deacon has to leave town and give up everything, while Brooke only gives up Deacon but otherwise her life stays the same.
Last episode she lied when telling Bridget she was worried about her having gone missing. All Brooke was worried about was that Bridget may have found out.
@@annieo6527 exactly. Brooke never actually faces any consequences except losing a man she didn't really want anyway when he became actually available to her.
And the worst part is, Brooke never learns or grows... she will go on to behave exactly the same for the rest of her days. And nothing will happen to her as a result.. In fact, she finally gets "rewarded" with a child for Ridge. At the very least she should never been able to achieve her greatest desire, which was to have a child for him

As horrible as Brooke is for sleeping with Deacon, it's hard to feel sorry for Bridget. She knew the man used her to get to Amber. She knows he left the phone off the hook so her parents could hear them in bed. She knew he knocked up Becky and that his other girlfriend got into a fight with Amber and ended up dead. Two silly women.

There is no moral equivalency between Bridget being an idiot (I agree she is) and Brooke sleeping with her daughter's husband, carrying on the affair under her daughter's nose and choosing to keep his baby.

Brooke not only she stealing Boyfriends Fiancés Husbands like she did to Caroline, then Stephanie’s, then Taylor’s, then Macy, Then worst yet Bridget, then Bridget again, next victim Hope, and last I never thought she did in million years last victim is her sister Katie not once twice and third time but Katie chewing her and read her and telling like it is to let her know what she thinks about her and her actions just like Stephanie did to Brooke for years when they first met👿

Deacon was married and he was the one who broke his vows by sleeping with a single/available woman. Normally I would say he is the bad person and the guilty party but Brooke sleeping with her daughters husband was always 😬😬 I have always been a Brooke fan but this storyline was awful!
Wait until you get to the "accidential" sex up against the patio wall while chaperoning the kids she is pregnant with(Hope) graduation party with Hopes boyfriend
