I'm not asking for anything. I'm just praising what's already there, in the video. The way the characters appear, disappear, those little moves... That's all. Of course this is an audio drama, but what's wrong with talking about the animation (which is A PART OF this video)? Since it's a bonus which makes the audio more enjoyable. But if there's not any animation I would also appreciate and enjoy it too, no problem at all. Seriously I've listened to all 3 seasons of MDZS audio drama Chn ver, with no animation, and I still love it a lot. Don't you understand what I said in the comment above? I wrote a whole paragraph and there are still people who don't understand. I'm sorry but it's so so frustrating.

(On a serious not I am sooo glad how this is the first adaptation to recognize that Mo Xuan Yu was a gay man. Homophobia, especially in the beginning of the book is an important thing we we see our protagonist's overcome so I'm glad this adaptation honors that.

Nope, even the Chinese audio drama adaptation had MXY gay as per original novel (it's the only adaptation out of so many to stay same as the novel with only a few tidbits different but idk abt s3 cause havent listened past ep3 of it yet)

No yeah the original Chinese audio drama is super faithful to the novel! If you watch a “try not to laugh” video about Wei Wuxian’s shameless sayings, he literally tells Lan Sizhui and Lan Jingyi that he “likes men and with so many good-looking men in Gusu, [he] may not be able to control [himself]” and that he “still needs to find a good man” and he literally says “I’m into men.”

So please give the original a chance as well, as it’s amazingly done!
But that being said, Chinese censorship varies depending on the adaptation. So for example: live-action dramas are more strictly monitored and Mo Xuanyu is portrayed only as a crazy man. Donghua is a little looser and Mo Xuanyu is rumoured to be capable of falling in love with “anything.”
But from my experiences, books and audio dramas and even manhua can get away with a _lot_ more. The manhua even has a Wangxian kiss drawn that got leaked even though it was technically “cut out” of the official latest chapter, and the audio drama and book have _so_ many acknowledgements about the romance/gayness.
I 'm so use too the Chinese version so it kind of strange to listen to this in Japanese even though I understand bit Japanese but no word in Chinese but this sound good in Japanese
The Japanese name for the characters is kinda awkward for me. Remembering the new names will be fun. 😅😆

It's weird but I watched many anime before, so I am okay. But the names in Japanese will be hard to remember. I am just so used to the Chinese names!

I speak Chinese and throughout all the adaptations of MDZS I had no little to no problem understanding things without the subtitles but now every 5 seconds I click back like "wait, what'd they just say?"

aestaedic There is a donghua up to season before the start of Yi City Arc. Donghua is chinese animation. It is uploaded by Tencent here in YT. Might not be available in some regions, but using VPN might solve it.

As a japanese speaker and beginner in Chinese, I reallyyyyy can't get used to the Japanese names😭the most prominent romantic points was how Lan Zhan says "Weiying"😭❤️ just praying there is no censorship in the Japanese audio drama
I don't think there will be any censorship in Japanese coz they r mostly quite open. That's my opinion coz there are so many BL CD Dramas from Japan & have all those moan scenes. So they probably don't have censorship.

Mo Dao Zu Shi is the first donghua I've watch and truly fell in love with. Before all that, I watched a ton of anime (and still do) so even with Japanese dub it sounds both different and normal for me. It's like watching an japanese anime :)) I truly love both the Chinese and Japanese. I'd watch it either way tbvh ^^

Good news, if you don't know they already did the Japanese dub and I can tell you it's soooo good.
The lead actors, Ryohei Kimura (as WWX/MXY) and Shinnosuke Tachibana as Lan Wanji are great in portraying their characters.
I hope you already watched those dubbed versions. S3 will come out next year January.
