WATCH: More irrigators are now ready to venture into vegetable processing after the second batch of Training on Vegetable Pickling and Kimchi-making conducted on August 29, 2024 at the NIA Farmers’ Training Center in Wangal, La Trinidad, Benguet.
The skills training is a convergence program between the NIA and TESDA, aiming to capacitate irrigators to process vegetables for home consumption or business enterprise, especially in times when there is oversupply of vegetables.
Earlier in August, a training on strawberry processing was also conducted for irrigators in Kibungan, Benguet, a municipality that is known for strawberry production.
Other skills training will also be conducted by NIA and TESDA in other provinces of the region.
