@jackmilas ..Why? What more could you need? You can see him playing it-he gives you the chords. The only thing that might be confusing is that he says the chords in relation to the capo, rather than their first position forms, and doesn't explain that. But so what? You can see what he is holding.
The rhythm for Slow Show goes like: Patata patata pa-ta Patata patata pa-ta (two triplets, and two half beats) Just can't figure out where he strums up or down.
Down down* up, down down* up, down up is the strumming pattern pa ta ta, pa ta ta , pa - ta I tried to match the strum directions with the rhythm you wrote, that probably won't show up properly on mobile. The ones with asterisks are where he "half-asses" the strum and doesn't hit the lower strings to avoid repeating the bass notes
+Zonrup Actually it's down up down* - down up down* - down* up (try singing it out loud - not the lyrics but "down up down, down up down, down up" and you'll hear it
@MrNosurprises He tells you the chords, basically he's just changing the root note during the verse though. GCF are the roots, they are all on the 3rd fret. Just watch him.
Can anyone tell me what guitar Aaron is using? It looks like an Epiphone Sheraton, but can't find anything exactly like it. Could it be one of the original Sheratons like the one John Lee Hooker Played?
@@BrettTalleyMusic that guitar confuses me too... The Problem with the 50. anniversary model is just it got mini Humbuckers, Aarons got full size Humbuckers (and its obviously Cherry Red ;) ) maybe a standard sheraton with the frequensator Bridge?
@cuttoothom grizzly bear, animal collective, deerhunter, fleet foxes, flaming lips, etc. its hard to say they one band is the best. unless its radiohead.
They're quite good! And I think this is a very thought-provoking question! I'd say the following American bands are certainly better: Wilco, The Flaming Lips, Animal Collective. And the following American bands may be better (time will tell): Grizzly Bear, Lightning Bolt, LCD Soundsystem, Vampire Weekend, Dirty Projectors, Wavves.
You are comparing one of the best-critically-reviewed American bands of the decade (Animal Collective) with one of the most hated non-bands of the decade (Britney Spears). That'll teach me to post a serious comment on TH-cam.
@MQqua1 how can you compare Animal collective with Wilco? do you prefer Brother Sport or At least that what you said? ahahahahahah I think you should be deaf to compare them. and if it is too hard to comprehend for you: they're doing too much different music.
That rhythm in Fake Empire is seriously a piece of genius.
3:4 polyrhythm. Remember: pass the god damn butter!
It annoys me how simple it is for him but it breaks my brain
Love that strum pattern on Slow Show
it's hard to believe how good it is when he's playing slow show
All the band members are amazing!
Yeah, love the guitar in slow show. I almost wish you could hear it better in the recorded version, but the song is still awesome
His Sheraton sounds amazing even unplugged. Mine never sounded that good...
@calmcyco i wish matt would randomly show up and start singing in every moment of my life...
love it when bryan devendorf realises it's a guitar lesson
I am trying to figure out how to play "Lit Up" but cannot find good tabs anywhere.
@thom2255
The National owns all of those. Yes, sometimes, even Radiohead.
the best rock band in the world

@tombuttner Or rather its not a Sheraton II, but an original run Sheraton.

Thanks! I end up doing down-up-down-up throughout when trying to figure it out, and it sounds ok but not as nice. Will try this out later. :)

This is a good way of learning polyrhythms of the beat
