I was surprised at how Mike got it so right of what the song is about. It is about letting go of a relationship and planning to get over it but still hoping for it to work out at the same time. The title means I already want to let go.
Mike's "intuition" (as he calls it) is spot on even without the lyrics because it is a testament of how amazing Morissette is as a singer and a storyteller via a song. Some people criticize her for her vocal pyrotechnics because as they say she screams a lot. I of course disagree because Morissette does not belt just for the sake of belting. In relation to this song, she has to belt to show her pain, her indignation and all the mixed emotions she feels as she watches a relationship that is slowly crumbling.
