Athletes, classical musicians, golfers, e-gamers, and artists all got an exemption in 2022/2023 and others if SK Govt believes they are promoting national prestige. SK Govt and Military Admin didn't think that BTS, as an Idol group had brought enough prestige to SK until of course, they where in the military. Since then SK Govt have been using BTS for PR since then to either promoted military life or their own careers. Given all that has happened with the attacks on BTS by others and the fact that even in the military they are achieving global records the least SK Govt can do is give ALL BTS members early release as a thank you.
