Very good instructional for beginners. One criticism I do have, which I get and understand everybody does it different, so nobody is wrong. Forget the pencil when marking with a T-square or when preparing to do a slide cut. Pull out to your measurement, right under your tape stick your knife in the board (never above, could damage your tape), it will sit there while you reach for a T-square, then cut as normal, you'll feel a bump from where you stuck your knife in, that'll let you know absolutely you're right on your mark. Same for a slide cut, mark with knife, position hands for slide cut, stick knife blade in your mark, adjust tape so your knuckle sits on top just like the video, maintain distance and move it all to the far edge of your sheet (close to where you made your mark with the knife) then slide cut for your rip. Also ya don't need to move to the other side to snap your board, on the small end grip with your left hand, just to the right of the cut grip with your right, push with left while pulling with right (should also end up pulling it somewhat away from the wall) do it in a controlled jerking motion. Then from the white side of the board, just run your knife from bottom to top right in the center, control the knife - don't let it wobble and go crazy on you. Finish it with snapping the cut off piece back towards you, should come off like nothing. Other than that, fantastic video - but also everyone does their thing different, if it works it works.
I left Aliquippa 30 years ago but I picked up that accent of yours within 15 seconds of watching this video. Great job, it was a good refresher for some Sheetrock work I have coming up.
@@ericcarlini7489 there were a bunch of Palombo’s running around when I grew up on Sheffield Terrace in the 70’s & 80’s. We might know a few of the same people.
Thanks for the vid! Funny how ingrained safety is now. While you were showing how to attach the utility blade to the tape measure, I instinctively tried to move away from the screen.
You are good. REALLY GOOD. I agree with Dan the teacher.....Training presentation is totally professional. I appreciate your time making this video. This really helps with my project.
Hey I'm a tsper and didn't get a chance to get really good at hanging, plus I'm a painter. This was great Info, Noone showed me how to hold the knife on the tape
Eric have you ver tried a wallboarders buddy cutter. It is designed to cut to length or width with the boards stacked against the wall. It measures as well. I did a whole house last year for the first time in more than twenty years and loved it.
If I have an opening that is measured at 22 3/8" L x 48" H Do I subtract 1/8" on the butt joint side (22 1/4" ) to fit, or should it be more or not at all?
Okay that was an awesome video thank you. But what would you do about cutting drywall in odd shapes.? Old houses different measurements top to bottom side to side. Going up stair ways.? Thank you I subscribed
It’s actually just a set of padded tool belt suspenders. No safety features on them. Just used for holding up my tools. They sell them at most home centers.
You look at the camera too much... Your audio is very clear so they can hear you..... stop being a camera Hound and concentrate on the information that you are given...
People like you are working us all out of a job. Your how to videos are made for your own selfish purposes. You give away trade secrets and make homeowners think they can do this as well as someone who has put years into it. Your ruining the value of skilled labor
People value you their time and most people don’t like to do labor or fear they will mess it up more so when people will rather do all that than pay somebody than the real problem is people in trades charge way too much!
@GaryInHell charge too much? They are in business to make profit not do favors. They have business expenses like anyone else. Tools. Insurance gasoline truck payment vehicle repairs. Work comp. Taxes!!! Remember this. The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of a cheap price.
I'm a teacher and this is some of the best instruction I've seen on youtube. Great job!
You say that like we are suppose to be impressed.
Concise. Practical. Comfortable. You're a great teacher. Thanks.
Very well explained and demonstrated in an extremely easy to follow and copy way, thanks, well done
You are a blessing. Thank you. I’ve wanted to learn how to measure and cut for years.
Thank you Eric, that was excellent and gave to me a lot more confidence in tackling a dry wall project. I appreciate the humor!

Great info here. Thanks!
Lol nice touch at the end. Informative video. Makes it look easy
Thanks for your help
Thank you for this!
Thank you for this. actually learned a lot!!
Biggest tip is only score the drywall meaning only cut the paper don't let the blade dig into the gypsum. This will give you a clean cut.
Great job
You know your alright. Have a great day.
I didn't know you were doing these!
I just started a couple weeks ago. I have been teaching my class from home. I didn’t even know how to make a TH-cam video until a couple weeks ago
You Earned My Sub 👍🏾
Awesome video man! Thank you for the knowledge.
Thank you sir 👍👍👍👍
Very informative. Thank you
Really nice help !!! Thaks
Thank you Sir
30 years and still marking studs on the sheet? 😬

Slam em tight bud
Don't over think it.
Hang the drywall tight together, any gaps will be filled in with mud. Any imperfections can be fixed no problem.
Best 👍

Hi, you just need to take level and plumb measurements along with triangulation.
Eric, bro your a fucking badass, god bless u
How much you charge per hour?
That's okay, I'm good....
I'll leave it up to you to lay out and cut the drywall...
I hate doing drywall....
Where did u get that harness

Cool 😎🤣😁
Nice beginner lines for screwing off the field lol
Dude looks like bob odenkirk
If ur layout is done properly. YOU WONT BE BUTTING CUT ENDS! always butt factory edges.
If your finger burns while you score, you're doing it right 👆
My knees always burned but only felt the next day, mostly Sunday and Monday morning.

Drywall sucks. Bottom of the barrel work. All construction sucks really.
Kraken wood floor service Mcmahon your right but my pension is nice.
I suck too.. just being honest.
@@krakenwoodfloorservicemcma5975 Everything sucks. Try something else and tell me it doesn't suck.
Lol
I’ve made a great living swinging a hammer. God is good.
Yup... no shortage of work for drywallers right now though!

Great Video!
