"The burden of proof is always on the cover song" is such a fucking Matt thing to say lmao.
Always love the lack of chill in Will's eyes. Really makes his vocal cadence make sense.
43:45 "whitey sings the blues indeed", absolute zinger by Matt
Matt getting giddy about the Battleship pegs, and Will watching Tom tee off on it, was prime hangout vibe.
Love to see Matt and Will's bodies morphing into one another.
Lmfao this is so funny to me. I love Matt and Will
I knew they would be good. Matt is good on movies/pop culture.
Will's eyes just mercing everyone in that room we can't see.
He knows where they are, our Will. Matt knows where they will be.
Matt is my favorite dude to listen to
Chapo boys are great especially Matt
Chapo is what it is because wills a great laugher
Spot on
I do love his laugh
Will be laughing good
Gregg Turkington made the greatest game movie of all time, Deck of Cards
Matt Christmas seems very smart.
hes great check out cushvlogs
Yeah! Cushvlog.
Our two biggest boys on the biggest boy show! Love it 🖤
What the hell this show is criminally underrated
Not by its title 🤨
It's been incredible lately.
srsly. how am I just now finding this?
@@RAWNLEY you've only got about 20 years of archives to catch up on
matt rules
Sat in Your Lap is the Kate Bush song I love most and the Best Show youtube comment section must know
My favorite review of the Lou Reed/Metallica album: "If the Red Hot Chili Peppers acoustically covered the 12 worst Primus songs for Starbucks, it would still be (slightly) better than this."
Christopher Nolan's Kerplunk.😂
"Chapo Steak House" - the boy knows his best show.
We love it folks...treats!
good lord i miss matt
The shot clock, way above the game.
Oooh rare shorts-dressed Chris sighting at 1:47
Battleship. THE LAST HONEST GAME!
Loved it. Chapo listener and Will and Matt brought me here but I really loved the host too!
Didn’t know Tom Scharpling - great show man and you are funny. Really good stuff.
16:22 No, that was a song for the soundtrack of the movie Gothika starring Halle Berry.
How did nobody mention Disturbed's Sound of Silence?
this is great! and the voice of jermaine no less... truly magical
Leader of the pack covered by Twisted Sister!
It happened and we let it happen.
I was looking to see if anyone commented this. That cover is an abomination for sure.
Raymond Jay Johnson Jr. His first appearance in my consciousness was on The Electric Company, (children's show - usually after.Sesame Street). Then I saw him appear everywhere else. It's funny because you can't believe someone has the nerve to do something like that on stage. Kind of like what Andy Kauffman did, or a lot of Adam Sandler's career. That's how it was for me anyway.
I came for the Chapo. I stayed for the tunes.
Lol
remain in light is solid gold sir
Will is on some kind of upper rofl
It would be more impressive if you were pointing out a time he _wasnt_ on uppers.
He’s ascended, he’s beyond blinking. He’s tapped into the secrets of the universe that only come from maddeningly fiddling with your chair. Show some respect.
LARGE percentage of "Extroverts" are really just introverts who found cocaine
@@hyperbolicchamber661thank you for saying what had to be said
I love the Peter Benchley novel "Jaus"
those are low key some fine looking chairs
Tom Jones also covered EMF you're unbelievable
Mille Borne is the card game he's trying to remember at ~31:15
Battleship is a very subversive movie if you pay close attention when watching it you'll see that the aliens actually aren't the bad guys. They never initiate combat none of their weapons are actually weapons
Green Day did a cover of "Like a Rolling Stone"
I love these boys. Wish felix was there!
expected Behind Limp Eyes, and was not disappointed
I would definitely go see Don’t Wake Daddy
I had to research soupy sales for a job it was insane
Both of his son’s were the rhythm section on Iggy Pop’s masterpiece album The Idiot. Entertainment industry is weird.
@@dethkon so strange
@@blah146568766i87 I know. FWIW, I think Soupy was kinda Hip. Among that crowd, at least.
1:00:27 Someone's been working on their Wurster impression. Power Pop Papa forever
tom is so gd funny this ep.
Where can I find that classic, bouncy best show on WFMU theme song? Too catchy.

@@BestShow4Life thank you
This host has strong Jiminy Glick energy
Matt has a voice and a face for radio
you mean a face for the runway? look at that handsome man
Wrong on both counts, he's beautiful and his voice is dog shit
Paul Giamatti made it work
So does your dad but you don't hear me crowing on about it
If by "radio" you mean "why is Mommy making animal noises?" then yes, the answer is Matt Christman.
Worlds collide!
Lulu is a masterpiece!
They’re getting interviewed by Jermaine!
🎉 Rob Z's OPERATION🎉
My 2 horrible covers are I Wish by Ninja Sex Party and Danny Boy by Tom Jones. What a couple truly strange covers
Cenk looks different here
Mille Bornes is the fucking best I can't believe Matt never played it. Puncture Proof Tyres for lyfe!
Who has heard of the board game "Chutzpah!"
Larks' Tongues in Aspic!
You can move the mic, Will
Imagine hearing Voodoo Child, by Jimmy Hendrix and thinking, "hey, I can improve on that."
Stevie Ray Vaughn makes my skin crawl.
Dude that's a pretty strong reaction for an artist that has not only been dead for like three decades, but that most regard as a legit and skilled blues player.
@@herecomesaregular8418 I meant no offense. I have to admit I was just trying to express how much I love Jimmi Hendrix music. I should have been more respectful to all of the Stevie Ray Vaughn fans out there. I know he was a much beloved musician with a huge fan base. I think it's just that I love Hendrix music so much, it wouldn't matter who attempted to cover his music, it could never be satisfactory for me, but, obviously, to each his own.
Seriously, no offense, respect to all the Vaughn fans.
@@seanmoon7095 I hear you. I would choose Jimi over the two if I had to make a choice. Not even that hung up on Stevie but the dude could shred and really lived the blues.
I seen some live vids where Stevie Ray just really is amazing. But yeah I really don’t need to hear his homages to Jimi. He had a beautiful tone and attack, But I think I probably would’ve been more interested in hearing him play in these kind of smaller scale gigs where it’s just all about playing. I think he’s both overrated and underrated.
@@markcollins1497 That is an excellent description Mark. I have to agree with everything you said. That is a fair way of saying it.
So damn good
Good stuff
33:00 Sleuth
Oh man, Tom messed with MurderXBryan
Tom and Matt look exactly the way they sound. Will absolutely doesn't. It's kind of jarring to me
whiskey in the jar is not by thin lizzy
Tom the God
Never move to LA
Hey this is Matt Oberg I.. can someone message me if someone could give me some details on what is going on online .. please help thanks
Check out the Condo Fucks album if you want to here some good covers of 60s and 70s songs. Their “This is Where I Belong” is a personal favorite.
Sexton Blake Plays the Hits is also fantastic.
Perfect Circle has a terrible cover album. “Peace, Love, and Understanding” made me hate the original.
Dem dry boys are definitely meant for the audio-only format. Much Chappy love tho!
*zips up pants* uh yeah, totally I agree
Beasty boys
Have David Feldman on😂 your funny.
This started off really fun crcacking on dumb old tv tropes and got real boring real quick messing around with song covers, ouch
This is a little late, but no mention of Billy Idol doing L.A. Woman?
he's right lulu is a masterpiece
Amateurs.. y didn't anyone mention Killdozer's American Pie
The pace of the interview setup was unbearable.
Spaghetti Incident by GnR is fucking awful.
Are we not gonna mention snoop dogg covering slick ricks "ladi dadi"
Thought Tom hated these guys remember him shitting on them a few years ago funny regardless
Chapo bleep-house
will really coked out. nice
I never understood how anyone could get worked up over music especially after they were over the age of 21. Sure, when I was a kid I felt it was my duty to hate boy bands and any bubbly pop song but then I had a kid at 19 in 02 and afterwards I never had the mental energy to work myself up about silly things that had no effect on my life, especially when Bush seemed to be setting the world on fire and then collapsing the economy. I remember a coworker asking me what kind of music I was into and I realized I hadn't listened to anything besides sesame street songs and nursery rhymes in over 2yrs.
im happy for you. or sorry that happened
…then you hear a single gunshot and we fade out
Remain in Light is their best album.
No groove? Ridiculous.
“Once ina lifetime” is on that album.
“Houses in Motion”
Terrible take.
Absolutely stunning disrespect for Mike Patton.
Thought the Chapo boys were better than this.
Worst cover ever? William Shatner “Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds.”
The Placebo “Running Up That Hill” cover is actually good. I think she’s just got an attachment to the original, and is offended by the idea of a cover.
I’ve seen it before.
But then again what the frick do I know.
I heard the cover first, and still think its better
Yeah they didn't let the song develop, that cover does a real good job with build up and dynamics
no groove on remain in light? GTFO
Yeah I was pretty unclear as to what he was talking about there
Don't cover Kate Bush.
worst covers for me are -
Deftones - Ghosts of My Life
Disturbed - Sounds of Silence
both are cringe worthy especially the Japan cover
42:00 Dunno what y'all are talking about, Placebo's cover is better than the original
Nah Placebo are deeply mediocre
Nah, it sucks.
The cover music takes are pretty bad
I only heard this from one source, but apparently the whole practice of covering songs started back in the 20s when black musicians were making tons of good music and white record labels were like "ok we like the song, but can we have a white guy sing it?"
So, another reason for ditching covers as an idea.
The terrible grunge cover of Zombie by the cranberries really really stank. just shouldn't have happened. they had nothing to add
this show kinda stinks lmao
Korn - Word Up is another good cover
