I’m very curious if there are any other former gymnasts watching this. I’m in my 50s now, I was a gymnast in late 70s early 80s at gymnastics Olympica. Our team had orange and purple leotards. Watching this brings me joy! :)
I think if I could go back in time I’d spend a day at the gym doing beam and tumbling. 😂

This was such a huge disaster. The judges screwed up the scoring on at least two gymnasts' routines, changed the score due to the US appeal for Jordan Chiles, then reverted back to the original scoring b/c of the Romanian appeal. They ruled that the US appeal hadn't occurred before the deadline, but the day after the appeal, video came out showing that the US had initiated the appeal in the correct timeframe. CAS screwed this up from top to bottom and refused to correct their mistakes. A court should force them to.
...actually came to the comment section to point this out, that the error was with CAS screwing up and then refusing the counter appeal to the counter appeal.
This years Olympics was just a huge mess in general. Just shameful.

Just discovered your channel Sophia .. I adore you and Gracie together I am 51 years old and competed in trampolining in my younger days. I loved the feeling of flying and would have loved to have been able to try the bars and tumbling..too old now but love watching you your process and passion especially trying put the Olympic routines and moves from the iconic gymnasts of my youth ❤
We did a deep dive on the CAS situation on my channel.
They didn’t make Jordan give her medal back. She kept it, but she will not appear on any official lists as the bronze medalist. The case is ongoing and has now made it to the Supreme Court of Switzerland. The deadline for them to submit everything is Sept 13.
Came here to say this. I can’t believe how many people are saying she has to give it back because that was never said throughout this entire thing.

You two are so talented and you're jumping all over the place with joy because you can do just one tumbling pass from Biles and Chiles' floor routines - and you're doing it on a tramp track with as many resets as you need. They did it on the floor, as part of a whole routine, with just one go. That's how amazingly great they are.
It's so impressive that you can even do one pass from their routines - but that just emphasises how incredible their routines really are.
It just amazes me how you ladies tumble and flip like that. That's fantastic gals, and be safe..thanks for the cool videos

Jordan was never said that she had to give her medal back. They gave the other gymnast a medal as well. Jordan was just erased from the final results. It’s wild how many people are misinformed about this whole situation.
Love you Sophia!! I wish people could really experience getting lost trying to twist before they say anything about Simone getting the twisties. It really upsets me because I know how easy it is to get lost and I am continuously getting lost trying to twist backwards and then have to go back to layouts and then trying to twist again. I had a similar situation, at nationals, I had probably one of my best floor routines like I stuck everything. My teammate who was the same level had an easier routine and had bad form and took big steps on his landings and when me and my coach saw that his was way higher we had it challenged and I should have had a full point higher (we knew this because my coach used to judge) but they only added 1 tenth so I got second on floor and my teammate got first and even he said I should have won

I wish I could have learned my figure skating jumps on sponge cubes!! haha. We have a similar thing in skating that happens to some skaters that's like the twisties...a psychological thing where you are lost and terrified mid jump on the ice. We would say we "lost our double axle", meaning we cannot land it anymore due to fear and feeling lost in the air, like you don't have your bearings and your mind blanks. I never had this but most figure skaters do experience it, sometimes it lasts a few weeks sometimes a year and it's unbelievably frustrating.
Love your videos, and gymnastics but I was never flexible enough :)

I love your videos they r cheerful, funny,motivating.I was doing backhandspring in my gymnastics floor but with my coach's help,i had no confidence to do self,but when i watched her vids n tutorial she like boosted me up n next day i told my coach tht ill do a self bhk n I gained confidence and did it ,me n my coach were astonished .I saw aerial tutorial but cant do self for 6mnths noww will try with all my might to surely do it .This is all possible thnks to ya .....lots of 💕 hope you make more vids n your career n channel's grow more;) and one last thing peeps *_Consistency is the key_* n _*Do NoT GiVe Up!*_Thank youuu💗💖make sure to sub like n share Sophia;)

They did already give Barbosu a bronze. And they actually didn't inquire too late. The US didn't get notice in time to present the evidence that they made their verbal notice at 47 seconds, when they had up to 60 seconds to do it. That was why the panel entertained the inquiry.
The US is appealing it further because they had been unable to present their evidence. Romania also claimed that the panel gave their response too quickly bcause they didn't have time to watch the entire routine. However, since it was floor finals, the panel was watching (and keeping track of the skills they went), so they could just go to the specific skill being enquired about ... and determined that THAT skill was undervalued originally.
And all of this would have been a moot point if the other Romanian gymnast tied with Barbosu's coach had enquired about the neutral deduction instead of the E-score.

Did you ever consider putting a thin taught piece of paper over the (sponge well?) to see how high or low your landings would be on the floor. Or perhaps a camera that is placed on the side of the (sponge well -- don't know what it is called) and play it back in slow motion to see if your landings would be spot on? Good job ladies, but I am curious how good.

Not that I didn't feel like they did, but I don't have any of them now, and if I didn't keep doing what I got the medal for, it would be forgotten.

I love this. I know an Olympian who got his home robbed and unfortunately his medals were stolen. When I teared as he told me this heartbreaking story, he said “it’s ok, the memories are here” pointing to his heart.

Sabrina Voinea is the only one who deserved that bronze medal. She never stepped out of bounds. Neither Jordan nor Anna deserved the bronze. They should have rescored all 3. Remove the penalty for Sabrina and increase the difficulty for Jordan. Jordan still wouldn't get bronze.
And if Sabrina’s coach had filed a proper appeal (for a neutral deduction rather than difficulty) she would have won, but they didn’t so she didn’t. Judging mistakes are inevitable that’s why there is the appeal system. Sabrina not getting a medal is one of the only things CAS didn’t mess up

@@lizhutchinson6978 Her penalty for stepping out was apparently NOT the heel that everyone thinks it was about, but they said it was for something else, but I have yet to hear where it actually was. I watched her entire routine multiple times and can't see where she stepped out.

@@lunabelletheinsane If it wasn't for stepping out, I'd like to know what it was for too. I've watched the clip where it looked like she may have stepped out. Her free foot went over the line and was low to the ground but never touched the ground when you see it from the close up camera angle.
