There is a grammar expert one too that corrects people on youtube. He/she literally called me out on my grammar or something and punctuation and said he/she has some kind of English degree and used to teach or write. I had to tell him/her that I won't respond anymore and he/she still wrote back a few times.

The lady described as a "heckler" or "passive aggressive" really sounds like someone who was married to a family story that wasn't true. The idea that grandma lied to her and she'd been telling the lie to her own children was simply unacceptable. Her reaction typifies cognitive dissonance. I wonder if or how often I've unknowingly done that. Please kill me if you catch me telling an expert of this caliber that I knew more LOL!

I've come to love and respect Dr. Lori over the years, but, after watching the first part of this video, and listening to that arrogant, know-it-all female participant mouthing off in the background, challenging Dr. Lori's wisdom, and treating Dr. Lori as if she was a freaking idiot; and then listening to how professionally (and respectfully) Dr. Lori treated her in return, I am EVEN MORE IMPRESSED with Dr. Lori!

Your humor and wit make me laugh, especially when you cajole the participants because they may not particularly like the object they have brought into your show. I was cheering you on when you set the boundary for the lady that" knew pottery". I liked how you took a moment to gather yourself, and then without outright anger, you told her what was acceptable at your show. You then proved exactly how much she knew about pottery. Unfortunately she was told a tall tale about her pottery and believed it to be the truth. Brava for shutting down her manipulative actions. Thank you for showing us how to stand up for ourselves in a assertive and balanced way!

Ok. At first I thought you were rude...then I realized you earned that right and you're not actually rude...you're just right. The amount of knowledge you share is incredible. I want to flip thrifts for profit to help supplement my disability checks now that I have a baby. I can go shopping with my husbands help once a week and have a good eye for nice pieces. Can you recommend some reference books for beginner resellers? Do you have a book? You should! I love glass, ceramics, crystal, eapg, and I'm a sucker for anything vintage from japan. I'm trying to get the information out and have some fun too! I help a lot of resellers who use my identifications and values to make a lot of money. If you like to read, I have a lot of articles on my website. If you like videos, I've got tons of those too. Clearly, the complainer has an axe to grind. It’s hard to hear someone with a small amount of information conclude they know more than Dr Lori, the experts expert. You did an online evaluation for me and brought new insights to my piece. Family lore, second-hand information and an overinflated ego brings humiliation to the overconfident amateur. Beware all who tread on the knowledge base of Dr Lori. Kudos.

Anyone that offers such negativity is only providing reflection of themselves. That person actually made the decision to put a great deal of effort into actually deciding to go to Dr Lori's event and act that way- I mean researched the time and date of the event, select the piece to bring, drive there and wait - dedicate all day etc. I mean- Wow. Perhaps if she had the same dedication to obtaining anywhere near the same education as the Doc here, she could have provided a true opinion or held her own event other people would actually attend. Maybe even earned some credits in a manners class or professionalism. Dr Lori couldnt have handled it any better in my opinion. I love your shows! Hopefully you will be near Raleigh at some point so i can have the in person experience :) Keep kicking *** and taking names (LOL)

I enjoy watching every video but this one got me a bit stirred,negatively. I wouldnt know how to react correctly if i would be standing in Dr. Lori's shoes. But she handled it gracefully. I think Dr. Lori is not only expert with antiques but also with Crucial confrontations.

I love that she (rude audience woman) was wrong and that Dr. Lori was able to say that the material used wasn’t around at the woman date. I love that she didn’t know about the Nippon name/date. I guess she knows of different pottery....maybe? Lol I’m nowhere in Dr. Loris league but I am very good at identifying pieces, I rarely pay over a dollar for pieces, it’s enjoyment and love for yesteryear
Why is it my taste is so off? The pieces worth the most money is the very ones I wouldn't buy. Happens all the time, so I just don't have the touch. You are amazing! Good work.
I often joke that "ugly is your first clue to value"! Try to recognize quality. So what if you don't like the more valuable pieces, you just want to make sure that you don't throw it away!! You might not like the color green, but you know a dollar bill has value :)
