The paradox is such a marvelous sad sad song and it makes us cry of sadness and joy at the same time. Just because we're hearing Freddie and Queen as if it is the first time in our lives. Powerful life song!

FYI… Next month in November, Queen will be releasing FIVE MORE NEW SONGS as part of their commemorative boxed set for The Miracle album.
I think he was talking about his illness here. That's just my feeling. He was already diagnosed with AIDS not long before this. So I think he's telling us how he's going to deal with this.
The song was first recorded from the band’s session for their 13th studio album, "The Miracle," which was released in 1989. However, the track never made a debut.
The single was "kind of forgotten about," Roger admitted in the interview but called it a "wonderful" and "real discovery. The four-minute dramatic and emotional track begins with Mercury’s vocals. "When something so near and dear to life, explodes inside… You feel your soul is set on fire," Freddie sings over Brian’s guitar playing. "When something so deep and so far and wide, falls down beside your cries can be heard… So loud and clear." The refrain includes the lyrics "In the end, you have to face it all alone."
"It’s a very passionate piece," Roger said in a statement. "It was kind of hiding in plain sight. We looked at it many times and thought, ‘Oh no, we can’t really rescue that.’ But in fact, we went in there again and our wonderful engineering team went, ‘OK, we can do this and this.’ It’s like kind of stitching bits together… But it’s beautiful. It’s touching," Brian noted.

This was during the Innuendo period before his voice really started to thin out, I do have to wonder why queen has had no hits in the 10 plus years since Adam Lambert fronted the band.

I think The Miracle was the last album made when Freddie was still alive. Made in Heaven was still all Freddie with Queen, the final album of Queen, with the last song he recorded “Mother Love” 2 weeks before he died, it wasn’t finished, Brian had to sing the last verse. The album was released after Freddie died. I couldn’t believe it when I heard that there was a new Queen song (apparently they found 4 in total) being released with Freddie. This song blew me away, so beautiful, so tragic…and so amazing to hear Freddie again. Mind blowing. Freddie lives, and legends never really die.

Hearing this outstanding vocalist after such a long time, 31 years after his death, it's phenomenal. You hear him and it's like: "Damn, that sounds so incredible." It really reminds you what a great loss Freddie's death was.
