My wife and I were on the Love Boat cruise and agree that it was amazing. My favorite moment of the cruise was in the cast Q&A when Bernie gave us a line, in character, from Siegfried (this is KAOS, we don't shush here). Any Love Boat fan should book next November (we can't make the date work).
I love your channel! Love Boat was my favorite show growing up! This cruise would be a DREAM for me! And we are now booked for the 2025 one! My fav character was Gopher. I had a BIG crush! I had a story in my head for the show for years, and then 40 years later I became a published writer and wrote it into a book just last year. So when I heard about the 2025 cruise, I jumped at the chance! I had dedicated my book to Gavin and Fred. I really hope I can give the book to Fred on the cruise. I would love to tell him my story.
Yes, those of us who are of a certain age watched Love Boat (first run). It was a staple at my parent's house followed by Fantasy Island. I would love to do the Love Boat theme cruise!!
My husband and I were on the Love Boat cruise too. The question and answer with the cast was so fun. The activities were fun to see. We wanted to say hi but never found a good opportunity. It was fun seeing you and we have been enjoying your videos for many years now!
I’ve been on 39 cruise with Princess, although I’ve not been on the newer ships, I enjoyed hearing your comments & look 👀 forward to hearing more about your cruise. I just finished a Alaska Cruise on the Crown Princess & was found everywhere on the ship dancing & for my 1st time I was called “The Dancing King” & to my surprise other women were asking me to dance with them. On one night I was dancing in the pizza alone & 15 ladies formed a circle around me with myself in the center & one by one they came to dance with me. Life can’t get any better.
Allison & Gordon of Let’s Go Travel Tips were also on that Love Boat with a group cruise. I was on a previous Love Boat in October 2022 aboard the Discovery Princess to the Mexican Riviera. On that cruise was also “Julie” (Lauren Tewes) who was not on your cruise unfortunately.
This sounds amazing!!! I grew up with The Love Boat, I think that’s why I’ve always wanted to go on a cruise. I love the fact that you could renew your vows, that’s something I would love to do with my husband, we just celebrated our 30th this past year.
AS a young adult, I watched the Love Boat. Just hearing the Love Boat theme song takes me back to that time. I would love to experience the Love Boat cruise with that same itinerary. What an amazing cruise and thank you, for sharing your Love Boat cruise with your followers.
I was actually on the original "Love Boat", yes it was a cruise ship after the show! I went to Africa for 14 days. No balconies, and they could not put the beds together 😅. Loved it!
I am definitely envious - I'm actually watching Love Boat in the background as I type this! Sounds like it was a blast. We were on the Symphony of the Seas last week with some friends from Ireland that we hadn't seen in 40 years, so at least we had a decent excuse for not booking this theme cruise. I've watched every Love Boat episode so many times that I can recite the dialogue...
This looks like it was absolutely awesome! And God bless Bernie Koppell, I remember him all the back to That Girl!!! I will be doing this Canada cruise again in five weeks on Royal Caribbean. So glad to hear you liked Boston, I live about ten minutes from Harvard Square!!! 😊
OMG….You got to see Air Supply! They were one of my favorite groups growing up! This kind of cruise is right up my alley! I loved Love Boat growing up! 😍😍
Ilana, congratulations 🎊. I hope it was a thrilling time for you. I hope i see you on one of our ships. I was fortunate enough to work on the Pacific Princess on the 50th anniversary cruise in 2015.The same itinerary as the first cruise on the original Pacific Princess. The Love Boat cast was on as well as Jack Jones who sang the Love Boat theme and Jeraldine Saunders who was the first female cruise director and wrote the book The Love Boats on which the show was based. I would have worked for free on that cruise. I am tall blonde and work in the Hotel Department. Do you like wine? If i see you onboard because you sail Princess a lot I will comp you a few bottles. You do a great job and you are very fair and objective. Its very sad about Captain Stubing passing. Gopher Burl Smith was my role model.and when i became Chief Purser i felt that i had achieved what he achieved. I have lots of photos of everyone and they as well as the Pacific Princess will live in my heart forever. Sorry for the emotion.
My husband and I were on this cruise and it was very enjoyable. We did not pay for the Love Boat package, and for a bit were concerned about having enough non-Love Boat activities as we had booked this cruise prior to it being themed. We had nothing to worry about. There were plenty of activities on the ship, and having the cast on board only added to the fun. It was definitely very energetic! We found it quite noisy. Visiting with friends on or near the piazza was entertaining, but also frustrating as we often had to find quieter places to talk.
I from Boston and live in a nearby suburb. The North End is always fun and, while I do like Mike’s, the lines can sometimes be annoyingly long there! It’s like organized chaos during the summer months 😂

There were definitely hundreds of people on the 3 levels participating in the vow renewal. I got choked up a few times during the ceremony. Princess had fabulous entertainers and a wide variety of activities. It was a really fun cruise!

Sounds like you had an excellent time, Ilana. That's a great itinerary (our ten day from QC to NYC was our favorite cruise itinerary). and glad you got to go with your father. My wife and I have memories of taking my parents on an Alaskan cruise for their 50th anniversary, a few years ago before my father passed. Also envious of The Love Boat and glad Bernie Kopell (especially), Ted Lange, and Fred Grandy are still out and about and healthy enough to do these events. As you point out, we Gen Xers were little kids when that aired and were now well into middle aged! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for another great video! I showed this to my wife, and we then just booked the November 2025 themed cruise on the Regal Princess. Which is insane for us, since we've only cruised once in the last 16 years, and now we have three booked for next year! But... I will finally be retired, so we might as well live it up a little. (Plus this falls right around our 35th anniversary!)
So nice to have met you and your husband on the cruise. We booked this cruise before it was even announced that it was the Love Boat Cruise and thought that was so cool since we grew up with this show. Totally enjoyed all the events and Air Supply was awesome! Thought it was great to visit Eastport 🛳️⚓️
❤❤ Awesome opportunity for you guys to meet "Love Boat Crew." Fantastic, you guys got to renew vows. What a great idea for that cruise. 😊😊 Thanks for sharing
I’ve always loved The Love Boat and still watch reruns!!! This looks like so much fun!!! Maine is #1 on my bucket list!! I really want to go and stay a few days there!!!
Thank you for the video and I am glad that you covered it.-I enjoyed hearing about and seeing all of the special Love Boat activities and features on the cruise.- I also look forward to your future video about the ports that you visited
@@LifeWellCruised I have a question that I would appreciate an answer to - What were a couple of things that the Love Boat cast mentioned in regard to them or about the show in the interview/Q and A session. If you would rather cover the topic as part of your future video instead of answering my question now that is fine with me- Thank you
My husband and I (with a group of friends )were on the ship. We were also a part of Allison and Gordon’s group. The ports were wonderful. The on ship activities were so much fun. I never ran into any of the cast members while walking around the ship but really enjoyed both interviews with them. It was so nice to meet you.
You caught us doing the cha-cha at the beginning of your video. Great job in describing this Love Boat cruise! I wish I had known you were on this cruise. I would have loved to meet you.
I missed the theme cruise but will be on this exact cruise in October!!! Air supply, favorite band, pleeeeease be there!! 50 days and counting!!! Thanks again ilana, loved the content
As a kid, I loved watching the Love Boat. The first time I went on a cruise was 1985 - a low budget Greek ship in the Med. I was 18 yrs old and traveled with my 2 best friends in an inside cabin. No bells and whistles on this cruise ship, just a transportation to the many Ports of call in the Eastern Mediterranean with many excursions. Nothing like what I saw on the tv show! LOL! I am finally going on a modern day cruise in December with my husband and friends and really looking forward to it. It would be interesting to go on a "Love Boat" themed cruise but I have found that any themed cruise to be more expensive than a normal cruise with the same itinerary. My husband, however would fancy going on a Monsters of Rock Cruise one day... He will fork up the extra cash for that, however!! LOL. As for me, I would like to go do a Japan / So. Korea cruise some day. We will see if both ever happen. Thanks for this video. It was definitely a blast from the past!
I did some checking and discovered that NCL has their own themed cruises. Most are musically themed, with soul, country, disco, and rock themes. They even had a Christmas themed cruise, and what I might call an X-rated one.
We were a cruise that started in Boston. We enjoyed stops on the Freedom Trail. We stopped in Halifax and it was very nice. We loved Peggy’s Cove too. I think the Love Boat would be great fun!!
I also just returned from the same area on a cruise with Norweigan. We boarded in Boston as well. Of course we had to try Mike's cannoli's. I couldn't decide and ordered 4 so I could taste a little of each and they were all amazing! I really loved Boston too and would like to go back to tour more.
I’m from MA.. Mikes/Modern are both tourist trap.. the best cannoli are any small bakery off the main drag.. the chowder at the Sea Caves is delicious.. we saw bald eagles the time we were there
Thanks for your channel. I have never been on a cruise but will soon. Im watching all of your videos. They are very helpful. Thank you for your tips. They help beginners like me so much. Thank you.
We booked our first Princess cruise for next year's Love Boat cruise based on your videos. I hope Bernie Kopell will still be with us so I can ask him about playing Siegfried on Get Smart!
I was on that cruise and was sorry didn't get to meet you. Unfortunately all three of us ended up getting sick so missed Air Supply and some of the Love Boat activities. My favorite port was Nova Scotia where my great, great grandfather was born.
We were on the Love Boat Cruise. Enjoyed the ship and are going back out on it in Nov out of port Everglades. Had very low expectations for Air Supply they were surprisingly good!
We LOVED Halifax as well. We visited Peggy's Cove and had a wonderful time. I actually purchased a windbreaker that I love wearing. We loved Boston as well. We didn't have the pastries, but we did have lunch at the Union Oyster House and it was delicious.
@@LifeWellCruised I forgot to mention, when we were in Halifax, we had lunch at this wonderful pub called The Wooden Monkey. Possibly the best salmon I've ever had.
We are booked on.Emerald Princess at the end of this month and the first week of October out of Quebec City. I hope your videos of St. John and Halifax will be available before we sail.
I would like to do a Love Boat cruise. Grew up watching it on Friday nights when I was baby sitting. I would love to hear more about Boston. I've never been. The cannoli's looked delicious!
Glad to hear it was not what you expected, in a good way! I would love to do a Love Boat themed cruise, your trip up north is more interesting to me, but I may consider the 2025 trip, I hear Roatan is amazing! I'm hesitant only because I've already committed to an Alaska cruise in Aug. I am in The Love Boat generation too, I think I was 12 or 13 when I started and I'm really close in age to Jill Whelan. I'm currently binging LB episodes on Paramount +, I'm in season 4. I love seeing all the guest stars!
I enjoyed hearing about your trip. I am a big on cruising on the Princess ships. I am going to look into the next Love Boat Theme cruise in 2025. You do such a wonderful job!
My last cruise before Covid was on the Pacific Princess (we literally got off the ship as this illness was making its presence known in January 2020). I was SO excited when I booked this cruise for the family because I LOVED “The Love Boat” as a child of the 70s! I’d talked this ship up SO much to my then 15 year old son, knowing it was not the original Pacific Princess! We’d been on the Coral Princess the previous year, so we knew that Princess leaned in on their “The Love Boat” proximity, including the cast in the safety drill presentation. But when I tell you that NONE of the PASSENGERS from the 70s/80s sailings left the ship-NONE OF THEM LEFT THE SHIP!!! It was like walking back in time! Even my then 83 year old mother, who’s VERY spry, remarked on how aged our fellow cruisers were! My balloon deflated! I think, deep down, I wanted to see the people who represented some of the best parts of my childhood young and energetic, playing shuffleboard on the Lido Deck! Instead, I got walkers, wheelchairs and canes. Oh, my! I’m not an ageist and know that aging is a gift that many never receive, but it was A SHOCK to my system! I wish I was able to go on this cruise! Maybe my appetite for nostalgia would have been satisfied.
I didn't hear you mention whether you would book a cruise like this again. It sounds like you had fun, and there's another Love Boat cruise coming next year, so I assume you booked it or will book it soon?
Boston Girl here. The nugget at Modern is better. At Mike's...OMG, they have this Lobster Tail...thin, crispy layered pastry, filled with the best cream. You see how big it is and think, I could never finish it. Then when it is gone and you want another one. Now I live in Kennebunk, Maine. Different lobster up here.😂
Do you get paid to cruise from like sponsors and what not? How do u cruise so much? Very interested in knowing how to do it so much. Thank you for your time.
I'm looking forward to here more about Halifax and Saint John as we are going on the Island Princess in September 2025. As always, I enjoyed your video and always look forward to more.
I live 2 hours from Saint John! I highly recommend you try to see a full cycle of the Tides of the Fundy. Not sure but likely the best and closest spot would be Saint Martins and it's a 6 hr cycle
Port highlights please: Maine and St John. We missed those ports in 2019 bc of weather. Halifax was a wonderful excursion to the Titanic display at the Maritime Museum. Lucky you, the REAL Air Supply.
@@Lisa-je5bb filled with information and displays. The history is very moving but the people of Halifax did all they could. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy.

Folks, it’s called the Union Oyster House. My sister worked there for a bit back in the 1980’s. But I’m glad you liked Boston. I love Nova Scotia too.
@@LifeWellCruised I forgot to mention, when we were in Halifax, we had lunch at this wonderful pub called The Wooden Monkey. Possibly the best salmon I've ever had.
@@Ivehadenuff Ooops, sorry. I was typing fast and from a brain with the memory of a goldfish.
I used to live in Boston, and it's Mike's all the way for me.
@@hollybirge4087 so good!!
I used to watch Love Boat with my dad. Idk if I’m the target audience but that cruise sounds amazing to me. RIP dad❤️
Awe! Nice memories
Do you have a link for the flutter sleeve dress you are wearing. TY
Thanks! Its in this post: #3 lifewellcruised.com/cruise-dresses-amazon-resort-wear/
We are booked on.Emerald Princess at the end of this month and the first week of October out of Quebec City. I hope your videos of St. John and Halifax will be available before we sail.
@@richardgotshall2703 love Quebec City!
Glad you had a great time and hope your parents did, too!
They did!!
already booked on Regal
I can't wait to hear about St. John's Newfoundland!
Awesome! I’ll share more in other videos & on social media
Great review
Oooohhh! Where else does Air Supply play? That sounds amazing.
They tour almost constantly.
Starting a tour this week, after some recording.
would've done this cruise. Love your videos!
I would like to do a Love Boat cruise. Grew up watching it on Friday nights when I was baby sitting. I would love to hear more about Boston. I've never been. The cannoli's looked delicious!
Sounds great!
Looks like you had a wonderful time.
Sounds great!
I enjoyed hearing about your trip. I am a big on cruising on the Princess ships. I am going to look into the next Love Boat Theme cruise in 2025. You do such a wonderful job!
Hope you enjoy it!
I really enjoy all of your videos and the information. We’re planning to go to Jamaica in2026
Have fun! Thanks so much
My last cruise before Covid was on the Pacific Princess (we literally got off the ship as this illness was making its presence known in January 2020).
How fun!!! Did you get to meet each of them? My childhood Saturday nights at 8 pm were always watching the Love Boat
Yes, very briefly. Wonderful people
Humph... I didn't get a tote bag....😢.... I'm sure they've made a lot of improvements since the first cruise.....
They had a lot more organization I heard, but also an optional package
I didn't hear you mention whether you would book a cruise like this again. It sounds like you had fun, and there's another Love Boat cruise coming next year, so I assume you booked it or will book it soon?
@@Honolulu-Blue I would love to, but honestly have not yet simply due to possible other commitments
Different lobster up here.😂
wow, thanks for sharing
I met my Fiancee on a metal cruise...we always call it the "love boat" ha ha looks like it was great!!
Do you get paid to cruise from like sponsors and what not? How do u cruise so much? Very interested in knowing how to do it so much. Thank you for your time.
I share answers to this question a fair amount - here's the scoop:lifewellcruised.com/how-i-make-money-as-a-travel-content-creator-blogger-youtuber/
Sounds great! I’ll share more about Canada New England
I would have loved this cruise! Looking at the 2025 date now!❤
Have fun!!
Port highlights please: Maine and St John. We missed those ports in 2019 bc of weather.
Halifax was a wonderful excursion to the Titanic display at the Maritime Museum.
Lucky you, the REAL Air Supply.
I will be going to titanic museum,I can't wait to see it!
@@Lisa-je5bb filled with information and displays. The history is very moving but the people of Halifax did all they could. Definitely worth a visit. Enjoy.
