This song has always had an end of the world vibe to it but not in a "omg the world is ending" but in a " man we had a good run guys, let's enjoy the end while it lasts." Way
Wrong. We die for one second. Why do you think we say “He died”? Because he isn’t dying, he already died. But life on the other hand, he lived isn’t correct. He lives. The whole world was made to fit this exact solution. We live for years and years and years, but we die instantly. That’s why life is so majestic, splendid, amazing, cultural, and spectacular. But dying isn’t bad, it’s a message from God that it’s time to come up from Earth, rise up from the greenery, cities, and ocean, and rise up to the heavens. We are all blessed.
I used to play this over and over and over to make my daughter go to sleep as a baby … still have memories of her as a baby in her cot! She’s 13 in March! ❤ the music must have worked as she’s super smart, talented, sporty and an awesome violinist too!
when i was a baby i had a little machine that was like an aquarium and when you turned it on the fish would swim around and this music played, i was too young to remember it, but i still feel like im kind of accessing those memories when i listen to this.
I don’t know why but every time I hear this piece of music, it brings me to tears and I DONT KNOW WHY!! I think I was 10 or 11 the first time I heard it and it happened that first time. I don’t think I’ve ever heard another piece of classical music that has effected me so… strongly!! I’m now 54 and it STILL makes me happy-cry!
This is one of the first lullabies I hummed for my son. As I type this, he’s cradled in my arms during a fussy night, listening to the actual piece for the first time as I hum the bass line for him. Only 18 days old and you can see the activation on his face already. Music is magic.
My 24 year old son just sent this to me. I was reminded of when he was an infant and I would have classical music play continuous as he slept at night. I just asked him when he comes home from the military next year if he wants to go to Boston Symphony Orchestra with me and he said yes it sounds like fun!" God bless you and your baby boy. My parents divorced when I was 5. They remarried on a sunny beach on Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula when I was 24. By then I had a sister, 17 years my junior. Yes we all should be very thankful :)
Great truth!
Thankful and happy....

My favourite piece of classical music, it is so serene.
These are a rare 6 minutes in which a whole story is told. It's life, it's everything.

I had this in a music box as a kid. Went to sleep to it every night until it broke. Listening to this again after all these years is making me cry.
This song has always had an end of the world vibe to it but not in a "omg the world is ending" but in a " man we had a good run guys, let's enjoy the end while it lasts." Way
Maybe whats why they often play it at graduations
So true.
so true
IT'S A PIECE NOT A SONG
lololol
And for 6 minutes, everything was okay.

So relatable.
We are all going to die
Bruh I'm going thru the comments and listening, I'm like," wow I feel so relaxed" and then I come across this comment. Lmaoo
Music is magic.
that's so sweet
WHO LEFT THESE ONIONS HERE?🥲
Beautiful...
My 24 year old son just sent this to me. I was reminded of when he was an infant and I would have classical music play continuous as he slept at night. I just asked him when he comes home from the military next year if he wants to go to Boston Symphony Orchestra with me and he said yes it sounds like fun!"
God bless you and your baby boy. The years go by so fast. treasure every possible moment that you can. 🙏

It will ruin the song for the people present though

My favorite piece of classical music. It is just so beautiful. It really takes me to another place.
after more than 300 years, this song is still the most beatiful song ever
Anyone else feel a strange, haunting nostalgia when they hear this song? Reminds me of certain parts of my childhood for some reason.
I'm 95% sure this was originally composed as death march song and it just kinda got turned around over time
Yup reminds me when I was in kindergarten when life was simple and fun
Me too
Reminds me of how my life pass my family and how worlds nature is created
Llamas with hats is what i thought of
My parents divorced when I was 5. They remarried on a sunny beach on Tasmania’s Freycinet Peninsula when I was 24. By then I had a sister, 17 years my junior. They married to this song in a beautiful place at the bottom of the world and our family was whole again, now with my sister included. That night I wandered out onto the freezing beach again and stood with a stranger from England and watched the Southern Lights dance across the sky. This song has nothing but beautiful memories for me. It blows my mind that a German writing in 1680 could impact me so much on the other side of the world over three centuries later.
Divorced and remarried? Wow thats inheard of here in America.

I like death metal. The fact that this is amazing in my ears means that this is one of the best pieces ever composed
I don’t listen to death metal, but I knew a guy who did. He spent a great deal of time explaining to me the overlap between death metal and classical in complexity and composition. And so, your comment makes sense to me.
@@iamastrangeloop9204uh huh. Mumble rappers say the same thing.
Classical music has about as much in common with death metal as classical music has with my taco bell farts.

I've listened to this a thousand times and I still can't decide if it makes me happy or sad. Will have to listen one more time to try to decide.
You’ve nailed it.
Try to describe the Canon in ordinary words and you’ll fail every time. It is otherworldly.

It makes me sad because of the end of llamas in hts

Imagine this: You are sitting on a bench, in a beautiful
green park. There are no problems, no stress and everything is going well in life. You are reading a good book, while in the distance there are some children playing outside, people walking with their dogs and some couples walking. You are happy, of course you are, why wouldn't you be?
For me, this is the feeling I get from this masterpiece.
Enjoy your day. -Some random dude on the internet
You maybe random Dude, but your vision is on point. Kudos!
One day, perhaps.
Exactly did this in my nightboorhood park
But i don't even have time for that in the daytime. So in the nights i always get on the rooftop, turn on the music. Then i look at the night sky with millions of shining stars and dream about my childhood. It's always the best time of my life
Life makes me a different person, in a negative way. But music, it contains the person i used to be, better than this one.
this can't be written by a human. Its too beautiful. Wow how. So much emotion in there
It's so beautiful it can *only* be written by a human.
Possibly a human tapped into God. There are many prophets we don't know about.
So beautifully soothing to the ear. My favorite classical masterpiece of ALL Time.
My wife and I are celebrating our tenth wedding anniversary. We were married under the Sundial Bridge in Redding, CA on September 18th, 2010. We had a wonderful harpist play this beautiful composition as Tina and her father walked down to meet me at the altar. Earlier this evening we drove back to the bridge and noticed two young students playing violin and cello. We asked them if they could play the Canon in D and they did. It brought back so many wonderful memories and tears to our eyes. Curt Nelson

@@integerconsulting9344 - So glad our wedding brought back memories for you. Speaking of memories: 30 years ago in June of 1990 I was a member of the Chico State A Cappella Choir which toured Eastern Europe & Russia for three weeks. We sang in Berlin six months after the wall came down. Then we performed in Poznan, Warsaw, Krakow, Kiev, Tallinn, Estonia, Leningrad, Moscow and Helsinki. We had lunch in the town in Poland where Chopin grew up. We sang in beautiful cathedrals with outstanding acoustics and wonderful patrons in attendance. It was definitely a high point in my life. There is a TH-cam video of our trip featuring a choral composition written especially for our choir by Kirk Mecham. If you go to Island in Space, CSU Chico you can listen to a performance of "Island In Space" and you will see a seven minute video of the tour. Enjoy !

Pure beauty! Pure magnificence! Pure Harmony!
If music exists in the Heavenly celestial plane, this is surely a representative example.
The soul of Pachelbel was in complete harmony when he had this powerful inspiration.
