    aw when Nicole made em all come at front, was so loving and motherly. BLL was my fave series so I'm happy with all the recognition it's been receiving. Also, I love Nicole ever since I can remember so her still thriving after 20 decades in the industry, I'm just so happy, for all of them! So excited for season #2

    Best thing about this is seeing Nicole notice her friend in the audience, and look out for her again at the end of the conference. .

    Aw man. I love both Nicole and Reece but they’re so famous it over shadows the other girls but they were so sweet trying to include them. Obviously it’s not their fault at all. They’re brilliant actresses. It’s the people asking the questions.

    speaking from personal experience women violence is ruff I had to go threw watching my own mum be beaten by my father for years and for the longest time is was viewed as embarrassing to talk about so me and my family never did and we are still healing after many years. so im glad people are finally talking about this and I know the main focus is helping women at the moment but the same thing goes for males ,domestic violence is not something to ignore and dust under the carpet its a serious thing that so many have to endure and its scars you for life so please dont call these actresses Hippocrates and liars cause even if they are thats there business not ours they are finally setting a light on things and it is helping so many !!!!!

    Congrats to all involved, and very impressed by the performances on screen and delighted to see the collegiality and solidarity off-screen.
    By the way, appropo some of the comments, these white women are clearly more "woke" than some would like to suggest - and with all their sisters of every race, creed, and color, they're a force to be reckoned with. The Time's Up legal fund is already demonstrating this. It doubtless frightens a lot of closed minds and fragile egos. No wonder they accuse white women who speak out against the abuse of power in all its forms of ignoring or exploiting social inequities (that are, after all, largely engineered and exploited by white men); anything to foment division. Fortunately, most women see right through it.

    "things out of the darkness" sounds just funny considering that these stories happen everywhere and are really common among show business industry. It is good that now it is possible to talk about that but stop pretending that it is an unknown discovery, please.

    Female-centric movies make a TON of money and they are for all audiences. It just makes business sense, but so much stereotype behind it.

    • @rhknow8888
      @rhknow8888 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Live Till I Die I'm curious to know what you mean? Big little lies wasn't even a movie? What was the stereotype?

    • @LiveTilliDie
      @LiveTilliDie 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      In the industry there is a stereotype that movies with a female lead will only be seen by women but Wonder Woman was the highest grossing super hero movie in history.
      I work in film and it's the people that fund films that need to understand that people will see these female centred films, but they usually advertise them as female-only films when in reality everyone will actually see them. Advertising these films only to women is a damaging part of this cycle.

    • @dmann1115
      @dmann1115 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Wow, Blue-eyed, ever hear of spellcheck? Also, why should we believe you, without any sources? Just what makes you the ultimate authority on gross sales and funding, your penis? Your hatred of women couldn't be any clearer. And calling somebody a "communist moron" when you can't even spell, let alone use proper grammar, is hilarious.

    Most of the women of color at the event were only token presenters while all of the 7 Golden Globe winning actresses were White (along with most of the nominees), yet those White women claimed to represent the face of change and empowerment? Focusing on gender while glossing over racial inequality primarily benefits White women who are at the front of that line while women and men of color remain marginalized. Trickle down economics doesn't work and neither does trickle down empowerment that priorities White women above others.

      Did you notice that the biggest award, best (and longest) speech and most (well deserved) praise went to Oprah??? The awards also opened with encouraging her to run for president! Not saying you don't have a point at all, but you can't really ignore that the big star of the night on multiple fronts was a black woman.

    • @lisab5592
      @lisab5592 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      First off, Reese Witherspoon did bring up intersectionality and "the more diverse woman" but I also think that if she didn't these women shouldn't be the ones we vilify. Sure, maybe they have some say in their industry but even as wealthy white women, the actresses aren't wielding the power. The producers and the presidents of these large organizations and studios in Hollywood have been puppeteering the industry without repercussions until this year. Their voice matters and can help but I'm tired of people holding higher standards for any type of women and then shitting on them for probably omitting a talking point when they're not the ones doing the casting or working at variety or any of the Hollywood publications. They're not the nominators or the rotten tomatoes critics. They're just doing their job.
      As an Asian woman, of course, I think intersectionality is important. We and latinx are the LEAST represented in Hollywood. That's not the greatest feeling when you're a kid possibly interested in pursuing the arts. As a child there were no roles for me in play productions so I just chose sports. There should definitely be more talk about minorities in all fields but I think we should be going after a different set of people than women at least trying to make change. I understand white women could be the link to getting more poc in movies but major blame should be pointed elsewhere.

    • @lisab5592
      @lisab5592 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      well sorry to hear if that is true, however, people commenting what they're commenting with literally nothing to back it up except "these white women are blah blah blah" when no one bats an eye when white men speak out about women and not poc. Not a fan of the double standard.

    How rude is the woman with the short cropped pixie haircut?! She had her arms crossed the whole time and looked at the floor. Then Reese and Nicole asked her to speak and she refused.. she looked like she didn’t want to be there at all! If she’s like that there then heaven knows what she is like when she has to stand in a queue or wait in traffic!
