      Idk... I know men kinda like ray. Not killers. But men who remind me of him. You wouldn't believe the crap they hide from wives and the tales they weave to get them to go along. He likely could have just had her keep a list of who was there and who left, and said she could keep any clothes left behind. If she had been very sheltered, she wouldn't have known different. Considering how violent he was, she wouldn't have questioned him to begin with on the innocent stuff enough to get to anything dangerous. But women like her make quilts out of any scraps they can. She couldn't have told them where bodies were because she honestly didn't know. This is one of the few cases where I have serious doubts about her guilt.

There are some very sinister women in the world. I unfortunately had dealings with some of them. Neither one was abused by their mate. Both chose to be what they are.

    the "i'm just an ignorant old woman who blindly loved my husband" defense was fooling everyone, they were a team and she went along with all of it for more money. They thought they were scheming everyone in the county. She never wondered what happened on that farm? nah she was smarter than she led on.

    In Forensic Files, one of the damning evidence that added to Faye's guilt was that she was literate. Ray was not, yet someone was able to do accounting and writing the drifter's names in a list. Faye would write the names and Ray will put an X on the disappeared drifters. Faye would also do the obvious accounting then make quilts off the drifter's clothes. McCormick being a drifter himself, knew some of the clothes he saw in the house were from missing drifters as drifters would write their names on their clothes somewhere. It is what most likely made him to get out of dodge fast and tell the police.

    • @TheNightshadePrince
      @TheNightshadePrince 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Just because she could write doesn't mean she knew that they were actually were murdered, maybe her husband told her that they left and forgot some clothes so she made quilts out of it cause she was poor. This kinda sounds like victim blaming, even if her suspicions were raised what could she do about it? She could have been murdered too, if she tried to tell. Like abusive relationships are hell, and getting out of them is extremely painful and in her case would have been deadly. You don't know how bad domestic abuse is until it happens to you.

      I think it’s brilliant. Think about it… they’re trying to take a man who has zero work history and turn him into an honest hardworking individual. Working on a farm would give someone the experience and discipline they need to learn how to make a living the right way. Whether the person learns from the experience or not is up to them, but he obviously didn’t care to live the honest life. You also have to take into consideration the time period. Now, we have prison camps that allow inmates to work on roads or to help with city or county-related needs. Back then they didn’t have major highways or need inmates to pick up trash on the side of the road, so they gave him a job as a farmhand. It was probably a much better option than sitting in prison.

      I don't know about Faye's situation, but most psychopaths can dismantle your personality in about 3 days-3 weeks, especially if the person has no special ops training, hostage training, or terrorist training . Once they have your personality dismantled, you are their puppet, quite literally.
      Psychopaths are the most lethal domestic abusers around, and that may be why their female partners are not put to death. For some of them, every day they exist they are just trying to stay alive.
      Of course, you may be so ignorant on psychopathy that you believe you could resist having your personality dismantled, but unless you are a psychopath yourself, you'd be wrong about that.

      One of the most chilling things about this case to me is how Ray clearly viewed the drifters as worthless trash that could easily be disposed of after they were no longer useful. They weren't seen as human beings. Faye had to at least know something about what was going on. The list that she kept had the names of the men and an X next to each one that was confirmed to be dead, and if I remember right some others never accounted for.

    Remember she was convicted of murder and sentenced to death.
    It's irrelevant that she wouldn't hurt anyone if released because it's about justice for the dead and their families.

    As usual, the woman gets offered a deal and faces less consequences for literally no reason except that she is female. She was no less guilty than him as exemplified by the fact that she made a quilt/blanket out of their victims' clothing. Did she seriously expect anyone to believe that her husband kept randomly bringing home bloodstained, dirty clothes for her and she never once questioned it? Yeah, no. That's obviously a load of shit. She definitely knew all about those murders and most likely played a role in them, herself. This is why people wrongly think men are so much more likely to commit murder. It's not that women don't kill, it's just because they are very rarely properly convicted when they do.

    Back then wives served their husbands no matter what happened or how they were treated. My father in-law is a mean old man to his wife, his wife is the kindest woman I know. But he’s a crook, wife beater, a drunk, beat his kids until i met his daughter 30 years ago. Didn’t take long to figure out what he was doing and how he was. I was doing a surprise visit with his daughter ( now wife ) when I walked in his wife was on the floor as he was kicking her with his big boots on, daughter and brother in the corner crying and begging him to stop. He was in total shock when he seen me, so was i, I couldn’t believe what i was seeing. He said to me..you want some of this to ? I just stared at his daughter ( now wife ) and finally said, yes i do want some of that as I grabbed a big glass pepsi bottle from the table and said you only have one chance at me. He instantly started crying, begging for help that he can’t help it. I made him call the police and say what he was doing.
    They still alive today but hasn’t been abusive since that day. He still has the odd rude remark to his wife but I just remind him every so often that i hear an see everything and I am still willing to offer what I offered back then.
