    This video is 2 years old, but exactly what I needed to hear to choose between BMR and Steeda. I thought Steeda's powdercoat looked a little cheap and the rubber plugs over the lower grade hardware didn't exactly instill confidence. I'm also a weld snob, so thank you for taking the time to make this.

    Now a serious comment: It was not real easy to see the difference in BMR and Steeda jacking rails on the Summit Racing website, but BMR has the ends nicely welded closed and angled, plus the bolt holes are lined / welded / sealed as shown in this video. ! I think it's well worth the slight extra cost over Steeda's. I weighed my pair of rails, 15 lbs for both. They are sturdy, but the weight is not significant overall. And, they will protect the car from all kinds of damage, from improper jacking to bad street curbs and parking lot entrances. They also make jacking a lot easier, you can put the jack anywhere on the rails. Highly recommended.

    I got the very same rails for my 2016 V-6 mustang. Yes, they do their job protecting the bottom seams of the car BUT, they will stiffen the ride.
    I mean a rough kidney busting stiff ride. After a year and a half, I am considering their removal. Great video, Thanks.

    Another satisfied customer. Ordered a set yesterday. Almost got the Steeda but don't like the exposed mounting bolts. Prefer that area to be recessed..

    That was one of my first mod I have Steeda at the time they were the only ones out but you’re correct if you are going to be fooling around with the car the rails are a must

      that side plastic crushed pretty easy would have been smart if Ford incorporated something or even jacking pucks like the Vettes use

    I'm so grateful you did this video again, as I remember you mentioning this product some time back and it's definitely something I want to attach to my car. Will it fit the 2017 Mustang ecoboost? And what are those existing bolts connected to, on the car, that they can be removed and reinstalled without any problem? Anyway, thanks again for another great video.

      yes these fit all models and you use the OEM bolts, shooting you an email now.

    Watched a few of these vids and no one seems to mention scraping away the putty near the front bolts.
    Did you scrape the body putty?

    Thank you for posting this video with the info. I just purchased a set on your recommendation for my 2017 Mustang V-6. Looking for jack points on today's vehicles with no frames stinks. Our Jeep Trailhawk had a flat and it too me 30 minutes to find a jack poinr.

    Looking at a set for my 2022 Mustang Ecoboost, but I have heard there are slight differences, so once my car gets here (end of the month) I'll then look and order if they fit

    I just bought this for my new 2019 GT 350 (in black since my car is blue). Love your videos. You mentioned the longer one is for Driver side? Did you use lock-tite (Blue) when you re-screwed them back in so they do not come lose? Thank you

      no need for loctite they are not going anywhere just torque to spec and your good to go.

    We don't have "Hockey Pucks" (?) in TEXAS but if you chop up some milk jugs (HDPE, not to be confused with HPDE, which is what your Mustang is for anyway) and melt it in a clean tuna can in an oven at 350-400F, that works OK too ;-) Or you can use a scrap of plywood or 2 by 4.

    Do they stiffen up the ride too much? I've read reviews that people say the ride sucks afterwards

  • @AXO9481
    @AXO9481 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I would purchase these, but how often are you going to jack up your car. I don't even have a spare tire if I get a flat on the road.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I jack my cars up almost every week to work on them and detail them so unless you into doing that kinda stuff these wont be of much use.

    Completely agree. Super OCD. I end up putting a fair amount of effort and money in getting better and or replacement Hardware many many times. Bums me out. I select Quality Products only to be let down by the supplied hardware. NEVER EVER use cheap junk hardware on anything that could risk Life and Limb.

    I dunno man.
    This looks like a product that's solving a problem that doesn't exist.
    That's a lot of dead weight to add on an already heavy car.
    If it hangs low enough to protect the braided exhaust flex joints, I MIGHT be sold, but I don't think anyone makes a product that hangs THAT low.
