He still goes on about it now despite it being 20 years ago when it was sadly scrapped due to rust, was a K reg as well think it would have been a 75hp 1.4.@@RoryRevs
Great stuff. The 1.1S had the side mouldings and various other bits and pieces from the GTi/GTA. I've owned 5 Metro GTi 16v's and had 2 of them running the 1.8VVC engine pushing 155bhp. Probably my biggest regret though was not keeping my GTi 16v SE (1 of 500 ever built) in standard condition. I modified it for occasional track use (rollcage etc) and then wrote it off. It would've been worth a fortune nowadays. They were massive fun to drive.
@@RoryRevs if you can see past the image problems they had they're actually great cars. They rust horrendously badly though. That's what was the nail in the coffin for 2 of mine
Absolutely stunning little metro 1.1. I would quite happily sell my ford galaxy to fund me getting a decent metro which really is getting harder to find as each year passes
An airbag on this car would do next to nothing to save you in a serious accident anyway. th-cam.com/video/pwGgRUkrnng/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1oI95CREjprG-Q_5 The Rover Metro...Later Rover 100 is basically a car design that dates back to October 1980 (And a car that was designed from 1974-1980) The crash protection on this car is next to non-existent. I do indeed love this car. But try not to crash it into anything bigger or heavier than a supermarket trolley. The Austin/Rover Metro later Rover 100 (1980 -1997) makes a Nissan Micra K11 look safe. EDIT... In 1992 Heinz was giving away Rover Metro Quests in a competition... You had to fill in your name and address on the back of the label of the Heinz Beans and send it off... I entered so many times the inside of my bedroom smelt of pure methane gas every morning when I woke up 🤣😆🤣😂.. And I never won... Gutted!

@TheBlaert thankfully this Metro was garaged all its life and barely driven for many years, I'm immensely jealous of my mate who bought it 😀

Lovely classic car
It truly was lovely 🥰
Listen to her raawwwwrrr! Lovely old motor. Pretty much every car from the early 90’s is a drivers car compared to what we got now.
Totally agree!!
Appreciate the comment, it really was a gorgeous thing to drive 🥰
looks like your at the Rose Shotley!
That's the one!
Looks like you had the handbrake still on
