      I agree: their color and flower size have already surpassed my expectations, and it's only been a couple of weeks! 😀

    Thank you for giving us a tour of your beautiful new garden. Most of the plants are really pretty already eventhough they haven't been on the ground long. I'm sure they'll look spectacular once established.
    I am envious of the Morello agastache. So eye-catching! And the Golden Needles coreopsis really POPS! I put those two on my list to look out for.
    Your coneflowers are really really pretty already. I'm sure they'll be more spectacular year after year. I love coneflowers, they are so reliable and with little care, very rewarding. My new favorite is the Sunseeker* series of echinacea. They don't look like any coneflowers I have seen before!
    Keep this great gardening videos coming. Many thanks!

      Thanks for your comment! Yes, that Morello Agastache has such a pretty saturated medium pink color, while not being too loud. And I just planted 11 more - yes 11 more - of the Golden Needles Coreopsis! 🤣 I love how this perennial has been blooming so far, so decided to plant them throughout my front yard garden beds. (It's my latest video, too.) You can actually find them at GreatGardenPlants.com right now -- so I jumped on buying some. My favorite Sunseekers coneflower is the Apple Green - so unique. I wish I had room for all of the coneflowers I adore! 💚

      You are very welcome Blake! I'm so happy at how well these are doing, even with the horrible extreme heat that has practically sucked the life out of me. (I would not do well as a plant in Summer!) 🤣

    You're flowers are beautiful ❤️ If I were you I would deadhead the Catmint so the energy will go to roots more , just a suggestion , they have done amazing with the transplant 👍

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for the suggestion Roxie! 👍 💖 I should probably do that with most of these perennials, so they focus on roots not flowers. But I can't help but enjoy how everything is starting out. I will trim the catmint back soon, as I want them to thrive this time around versus my original sad experience with them. Thanks!

    Beautiful flowerbeds, we garden in Ireland and its been a rainy summer so far and we have watered the flowerbeds three times so far this year. The temperatures have been 70 degrees and we water the containers twice a week. We have lots of drought tolerant plants in the flowerbeds and containers. We have Daylilies, African daisies, Alpine flowers, Sedums, Delosperma, Alstromeria, Salvia shrubs, Fuchsias, Hebes, Parahebes, Agapanthus, Lilies, Calla lilies and sempervivums in containers. In the flowerbeds our most drought tolerant plants are Salvia nemorosa, Echinacea, Gaura, Gaillardia, Centaureas, Knapweed, Rudbeckias, Kniphofias, Crocosmias, Heleniums and Asters.

      You have such a wonderful collection of perennials, Nicholas! Wow! 👍 I am always envious of Ireland’s Summer temperatures compared to mine which just feels like soup. 🥵 I plan on growing some perennials in containers but I think this will be something I focus on more next year, after I get through this year. 😀

    Not deadheading is just madness. 😅 My catmint has survived in my Death Valley bed so I think yours will be fine. Cats actually come by and rub on it. 🐈 Sometimes they spray it too. 🫣

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      How long can I put off deadheading? Until I can’t take it anymore. 😱😵‍💫😂 Yes, I think this catmint much prefers dry . . . although we’ve had too much rain lately for this bed. My catmint is safely in the backyard, so no neighborhood cats. 🐱 And mine are indoor-only cats. Poor guys have no idea. 🤫

      Hi Will, I fear my plants might drown - especially in the supposed drought tolerant garden! 😂 My hydrangeas are hanging in there (pun intended) but the Limelight Tree is getting some really low branches, with more rainy days this week. Fingers crossed our hydrangeas make it through! 🤞☂️

  • @johnbailey5133

    I have three lime lights that I bought last year. I was disappointed when I learned that they will not turn pink in our Memphis nighttime heat! Turned out not to be a problem though because the deer ate every bloom off the plants the first night. This year I couldn’t wait for my beautiful blooms. The deer came through in the spring and ate the leaves and apparently every single bloom. They flushed out with new foliage but no blooms! I planted a bobo this year that has one bloom. I sprayed it last night with Liquid Fence🤞🤞

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Oh wow John, I hear your frustration. ☹️ I am lucky not to have deer around - but - my parents have them daily. (The former woods near them has mostly been developed with houses now.) They’ve had so many shrubs devoured by deer, that now my father uses Liquid Fence year-round which helps. Deer have good taste (pun intended) and love hydrangeas. I hope the Liquid Fence helps. Seeing the damage deer do to your hard work, effort and money is heartbreaking. 💔 🦌

      I have lots of hydrangeas this year and I had a new one I was excited about because I have been looking for it for 3 years. Strawberry Vanilla. I saw blooms were coming and I could soon see its first blooms, well a deer came and chose that one to munch on. They don't come in my yard often but last year they munched a group of my new hostas. I may soon have to get some liquid fence.

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@kb1236 Oh what a shame they chose your new Strawberry Vanilla Hydrangea to eat. 😦And unfortunately, Hosta is sometimes called Deer Candy just because deer will devour them. (I've seen what they can do to my parents' various hosta plants. They will grow back, but it's such a shame.

    If this is your first or second year on the Miss Wilmotts Ghost, I'd say they look fine. Mine took 3 years to bloom and I think there was a year where it looked similar.

      @GardenSanity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Oh I am so glad you shared your experience with me! Thank you so much. 🙂 I’ve only seen gardeners in the UK and Europe talk about this plant, and usually the plants are already mature. I’m willing to wait, but also don’t want to do anything detrimental either. 😬 (Is it weird to love a plant way before it resembles much of anything?!?) Do you recommend just letting it be? No fussing over it? 🤞

      @@GardenSanity I dont have a lot of experience, just 3 years. But in general, it has regular water and that's all I do. I live in a dryish zone 6 climate.

      @denvertom7627 Well you have more experience than I do with them, so I appreciate hearing your feedback and what you do. 😀 I’ll try not to get too worked up and tell myself my own advice: to remember that the roots are (hopefully) getting established underground. 🤞Thank you! 👍

    Haha, humidity 3 million percent LOL, so it's just like here in Massachusetts! I come from the hottest region of Brazil but this Summer, here in Mass, there is no much difference than my home town in Brazil, where we got only 2 seasons all year round: Summer and Hell 🤣🔥🔥🔥

    • @GardenSanity
      @GardenSanity  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The two seasons of Brazil had me laughing hard! 🤣😂 I lived in the Boston area for 20 years, and sometimes check the weather forecast there, imagining it’s much better (like it once was) than here in southern NJ. But not anymore. 🥵 I can take the heat, but wow do I wilt in humidity. 🥀
