- David Plylar interviews Sandro Ivo Bartoli about the centennial of Ferruccio Busoni's birth. They also discuss Bartoli's performance of works by Bach, Busoni, Liszt and transcriptions by Busoni.
Speaker Biography: Sandro Ivo Bartoli is a graduate of the Florence State Conservatory and Royal Academy of Music in London. In addition to Classical and Romantic repertoire, Bartoli has championed the music of Italian composers Casella, Malipiero, Pizzetti, and Petrassi. He has performed at leading venues throughout Europe and has several critically acclaimed recording credits, including a complete recordings of Bach-Busoni transcriptions and Liszt's Franciscan works. He has received the Diapason d'Or award for recordings of Malipiero's complete concertos and "The Frescobaldi Legacy."
