She cooked the majority of dinners with basil while we stayed there, so every time I smell or taste it, I feel like a kid again and it makes me feel okay for a little bit.♥️
My mom and dad worked at movie theaters for most of my childhood, and I kinda grew up at those theaters so popcorn definitely gives me some nostalgia too, even if it's for different reasons I'm glad I'm not the only one! My mom also likes the buttered popcorn jelly beans, so they will always remind me of her. Also, LOL Lily screaming "Yay!" when you're cutting the soap !!!

You're right about the nostalgic scent thing. My Memaw always used a certain Bath & Body Works fragrance lotion and whenever I smell it, I remember the red towels and little watermelon-themed decor pieces of her old house. I believe it was Japanese Cherry Blossom, but I'm not certain.
I loved this. My husband LOVES popcorn (we have one of those old time popcorn machines and add real butter). We make popcorn as a family at least once a week. Our daughter is 7, and I am pretty sure she feels the same way that you do about popcorn. This video just made me smile. I love our popcorn family time. I do think it is something about the beautiful smell. ❤️
How about a Shirley Temple *and* a Roy Rogers? Same drink, but Roy is blue! ^w^ Doing a soap for each, same scent and all, would give people options to pick whichever they like (depending on what they grew up drinking). Personally, I'd love one of each.
For me it’s very specifically bread machine bread toasted and with peanut butter, coffee in the morning, and pipe tobacco. I was never super close to my grandpa but he’s the only grandparent right now that I’ve lost so those scents remind me of him so much.
You also don't ever need to script your dialogue because you script your soaps. This is structure enough to result in a structured video with good flow. You're also a very competent editor, which also helps. You make great videos.
There's this DVD store around my house that has this cute little decoration thematic, you walk in and it looks like a mini theater and they sell popcorn JUST like movie theater popcorn but super affordable - I go there more often than I'd like to admit, I always get the mixed box of caramel and butter popcorn, I LOVE popcorn too. I love hearing about ur family. I didn’t have such a good upbringing. It wasn’t safe and secure, and I didn’t have ppl around me that loved and cared for me. But I survived. If nothing else I learned how I didn’t want to be as a parent. I have a family of my own now and I do all the “family “ stuff with my 5yo and husband that I didn’t get to do as a kid. I make sure that my son has no other concern in the world other then being a kid. I make sure the house is warm and smells good, I fill his days with as much happy as possible. So anyhoo, I just enjoy hearing about ur family and all the happiness you had growing up. The soap turned out gorgeous!
Popcorn is sooo yummy. I taught myself how to make it on the stove with the popcorn salt and movie theater butter, it isn't exactly like the stuff you get in the theaters though. Movie theater popcorn is my literal favorite.
This is incredible the thought that's gone into this ,I so get why you are proud of this soap. It looks perfect the embeds are extraordinary! This would be great to give at sleep overs with pyjamas real popcorn and a movie and hot chocolate. Perfect gifts for a film boffin . Buttered for me, with caramel a close second. I'm twice your age and grew up with a special relationship with popcorn too. My Dad loved it too and amqays made on the stove using a dedicated pot and melted butter with lots of salt. Then he discovered Jim Fixx, healthy eating and marathon running (dark times for the rest of us!) My husband had the same dedication to good popcorn and insists on coconut oil (we used peanut before), amish butter and good salt. Better than even the good movie popcorn they had when I was a kid (it isn't as good today - ask any boomer or gen z). I got him a Whirlypop for Christmas last year and it is his most used gift! Clearly a comfort food for many of us, no shame in that. ❤
My nostalgic scent is a particular type of Johnson Johnsons baby liquid soap it reminds me of my first day of kindergarten when I just would not let go of my parents but they consoled me and I ended up having a good day! Also something that make me nostalgic is the time of day right before sunrise idk what it is about that time but I think it's the best time of day and it gives me a happy feeling 💕
I'm like that about being outside seeing the sun rise on chilly mornings when you can see your breath coming out of your mouth like smoke. I remember being dropped off at school and standing there in the school parking lot all bundled up and breathing out "smoke" as my mom hugged me and told me to go have a good day at school. :-)
Regarding your “weird little quirkinesses” - I wanted you to be one of my sisters (I have four real and several adopted) from the first time I saw you! I’m 53 and still think I want to be a princess!!! I bought all of my sisters tiaras for Christmas one year. And WE WEAR THEM!! Duh!
My nostalgic food is cake. My grandma was an amazing at baking cakes, all our birthdays, and all especial occasions had homemade cakes, and no one can make cakes like she did. Only 2 tiny mistakes and they're ones a lot of people make, for improving your English if you're interested you dont need 'an' before amazing if it's followed by 'at' and there's no e on the start of special but minus those tiny mistakes your English was genuinely better than most native speakers
I know I'm a few years late, but I wanted to share. My nostalgic food is (are?) torta fritas. My dad used to make them, specially for World Cup (football,aka soccer) matches. I always helped him make them. My dad passed away 9 years ago this august. I miss him dearly and always think of him whenever I eat torta fritas.

I was watching this video thinking “I don’t really have an emotional attachment to any scent”, then as soon as you mentioned a perfume, the scent of Brut aftershave popped into my head. Reminds me of being a kid, saying goodbye to my dad before he went to work and him smelling of it. It really brings me back to being younger. Thanks for the trip down memory lane today. 💕

I have been binge watching (started last night in random order) and on one of the videos, you asked if viewers were soap makers, or if they just watch the videos. I am both (kind of). I have made soap and understand the amount of work that goes into soap making--> you make it look easy! Why do I watch your videos? You are artistic, adorable, organized, you give clear instructions and the products you mention are products you are compassionate about and so there is a trickle down effect for the companies whose names are listed by you. You mentioned that you are comfortable with your goofy self and I commend you for embracing your idiosyncrasies that make you, you! I also commend you for donating some of your profits to the care of your sister. Keep up the good work and know that your viewers get much more out of your videos than soap (Although, that SOAP!!! My goodness! I am starting to think it's time to reconsider soap making as a hobby).
I help out at our high school's concession stand during ball games and we have a lot of people who eat the popcorn with the cheese for the nachos. I'm not that big of a fan but everyone else who has tried it loves it.
They do give out pretty small popcorn for a hec ton of money, but it's still pretty good. The cheese popcorn is the only popcorn I eat there, plain popcorn tastes bland.
Okay, now I have to have some popcorn! And, by the way, scents can trigger some of our most significant memories. They can literally transport you back in time to either the most sentimentally, safe and calming time, or the worst traumatic event ever. I like watching and hearing you, Katie. Absolutely my favorite soap maker! I get so excited when I see a new one pop-up. I find myself saying scrapey, scrapey when I scrape a bowl or a pan and of course I just silently smile to myself!
YT recommended your channel the other day and I have been binge watching ever since. My 9 year old daughter LOVES popcorn. I'm convinced that she could live off of it and may one day have a popcorn factory. A year ago she got braces and was told she's not allowed to eat popcorn. The news truly devastated her. I've tried locating kerneless popcorn. Found popcorn seasoning to put on textured food but nothing seams to replace actual popcorn. She has gotten so sad over this. She's such a good kiddo. Really good in school. Won a few awards (at prestigious colleges from age 7 -9) and all she wants is popcorn. Before my comment gets too long, I just wanted to say you are not alone. Thank you for making this video. I may show it to her to let her know she's not alone.

My friend's mum makes amazing popcorn with parmesan and lil bacon bits and it's!! so good! 10/10 would recommend we can easily get through a massive bowl between the 3 of us in like 10 minutes it's amazing
The food that brings me home and stuff like that is cooked mushrooms and onions. Idk why but it just brings me home and makes we feel so comfortable and loved. And Popcorn bring me back to school, teachers and student will always eat popcorn so it just reminds me of school and lunches just sitting in classrooms and hanging out

My mother made the very best hand cut, home fried French fries. It was even better with her "draadjesvlees", which is slow cooked beef that just falls apart on its own (sorry vegans). I have yet to accomplish her exact recipe, but whenever I think of it, I want to go back to that time. For many obvious reasons. I like popcorn. But it’s also a food of betrayal to me, I’ve almost choked on it many times. 😂 Never let anyone tell you that you’re supposed to be at a certain age, having an imaginative mind is a great thing to have. I’m happy you exist and how you are just the way you are.

One of the reasons I watch your videos is because of your personality and you're so genuine. Having a script for your videos would change that. Of course your soaps are beautiful too but what are the Soaps without the precious person behind them? By the way dear, the soap is absolutely fabulous and I love your story and your feelings about microwave popcorn. I happen to love the stuff myself. I completely get what you mean about getting emotional with certain smells. Sauteeing white onions, red peppers, and mushrooms throws me back to my childhood when I would peak over the counter on Friday nights and my mom would be cooking standing in front of the stove backlit by the sunset and front lit by the kitchen light. And my body powder that me and my grandmother use reminds my mom of hugs from her grandmother who I've never met Don't worry, get emotional over your popcorn :) I'm behind you on that, btw this soap looks ah-mazing

I'm twice your age and grew up with a special relationship with popcorn too. My Dad loved it too and amqays made on the stove using a dedicated pot and melted butter with lots of salt. Then he discovered Jim Fixx, healthy eating and marathon running (dark times for the rest of us!)
My husband had the same dedication to good popcorn and insists on coconut oil (we used peanut before), amish butter and good salt. Better than even the good movie popcorn they had when I was a kid (it isn't as good today - ask any boomer or gen z). I got him a Whirlypop for Christmas last year and it is his most used gift! Clearly a comfort food for many of us, no shame in that. ❤

My nostalgic scent is a particular type of Johnson Johnsons baby liquid soap it reminds me of my first day of kindergarten when I just would not let go of my parents but they consoled me and I ended up having a good day! Also something that make me nostalgic is the time of day right before sunrise idk what it is about that time but I think it's the best time of day and it gives me a happy feeling 💕

I'm like that about being outside seeing the sun rise on chilly mornings when you can see your breath coming out of your mouth like smoke. I remember being dropped off at school and standing there in the school parking lot all bundled up and breathing out "smoke" as my mom hugged me and told me to go have a good day at school. :-)
Regarding your “weird little quirkinesses” - I wanted you to be one of my sisters (I have four real and several adopted) from the first time I saw you! I’m 53 and still think I want to be a princess!!! I bought all of my sisters tiaras for Christmas one year. And WE WEAR THEM!! Duh!
My nostalgic food is cake. My grandma was an amazing at baking cakes, all our birthdays, and all especial occasions had homemade cakes, and no one can make cakes like she did. My mom says that mine are the closest, but I don't know.
She passed away a few years ago.

Only 2 tiny mistakes and they're ones a lot of people make, for improving your English if you're interested you dont need 'an' before amazing if it's followed by 'at' and there's no e on the start of special but minus those tiny mistakes your English was genuinely better than most native speakers

I know I'm a few years late, but I wanted to share. My nostalgic food is (are?) torta fritas. My dad used to make them, specially for World Cup (football,aka soccer) matches. I always helped him make them. My dad passed away 9 years ago this august. I miss him dearly and always think of him whenever I eat torta fritas.

What makes me nostalgic all the time is music. I'll hear something from high school or any of the numerous chapters of my life, and it immediately takes me back to that time!!

I was watching this video thinking “I don’t really have an emotional attachment to any scent”, then as soon as you mentioned a perfume, the scent of Brut aftershave popped into my head. Reminds me of being a kid, saying goodbye to my dad before he went to work and him smelling of it. It really brings me back to being younger. Thanks for the trip down memory lane today. 💕

If you ever go to Chicago you should try Garrett's Popcorn. The Chicago mix is classic, but all of their flavors are good. I'm partial to spicy cheese corn. :D

I have been binge watching (started last night in random order) and on one of the videos, you asked if viewers were soap makers, or if they just watch the videos. I am both (kind of). I have made soap and understand the amount of work that goes into soap making--> you make it look easy! Why do I watch your videos? You are artistic, adorable, organized, you give clear instructions and the products you mention are products you are compassionate about and so there is a trickle down effect for the companies whose names are listed by you. You mentioned that you are comfortable with your goofy self and I commend you for embracing your idiosyncrasies that make you, you! I also commend you for donating some of your profits to the care of your sister. Keep up the good work and know that your viewers get much more out of your videos than soap (Although, that SOAP!!! My goodness! I am starting to think it's time to reconsider soap making as a hobby).
Cinema popcorn is the best popcorn, even better if you add nacho and cheddar powder to it.
I help out at our high school's concession stand during ball games and we have a lot of people who eat the popcorn with the cheese for the nachos. I'm not that big of a fan but everyone else who has tried it loves it.
They do give out pretty small popcorn for a hec ton of money, but it's still pretty good. The cheese popcorn is the only popcorn I eat there, plain popcorn tastes bland.

YT recommended your channel the other day and I have been binge watching ever since. My 9 year old daughter LOVES popcorn. I'm convinced that she could live off of it and may one day have a popcorn factory.
A year ago she got braces and was told she's not allowed to eat popcorn. The news truly devastated her. I've tried locating kerneless popcorn. Found popcorn seasoning to put on textured food but nothing seams to replace actual popcorn. She has gotten so sad over this. She's such a good kiddo. Really good in school. Won a few awards (at prestigious colleges from age 7 -9) and all she wants is popcorn.

My friend's mum makes amazing popcorn with parmesan and lil bacon bits and it's!! so good! 10/10 would recommend we can easily get through a massive bowl between the 3 of us in like 10 minutes it's amazing

The food that brings me home and stuff like that is cooked mushrooms and onions. Idk why but it just brings me home and makes we feel so comfortable and loved. And Popcorn bring me back to school, teachers and student will always eat popcorn so it just reminds me of school and lunches just sitting in classrooms and hanging out

My mother made the very best hand cut, home fried French fries. It was even better with her "draadjesvlees", which is slow cooked beef that just falls apart on its own (sorry vegans). I have yet to accomplish her exact recipe, but whenever I think of it, I want to go back to that time. For many obvious reasons.

One of the reasons I watch your videos is because of your personality and you're so genuine. Having a script for your videos would change that. Of course your soaps are beautiful too but what are the Soaps without the precious person behind them? By the way dear, the soap is absolutely fabulous and I love your story and your feelings about microwave popcorn. I happen to love the stuff myself. I use the cheap theater butter-flavored oil that is sold at Walmart, for popcorn. It is the bomb.com💣💥! You have a beautiful day and love you girl!!🍿🍿🍿🍿

I completely get what you mean about getting emotional with certain smells. Sauteeing white onions, red peppers, and mushrooms throws me back to my childhood when I would peak over the counter on Friday nights and my mom would be cooking standing in front of the stove backlit by the sunset and front lit by the kitchen light. And my body powder that me and my grandmother use reminds my mom of hugs from her grandmother who I've never met
