Damn, was watching this with my young daughter and that bravestar episode was hardcore. Had to pause it so we could have a have a deep conversation about drug addiction. Thanks orbital, you're the best.
Cartoons back then knew they had to show the consequences to get the point across. It's shocking to see these days, but it served its purpose as you had a good conversation with your daughter. You're doing great as a parent. God bless 🥓🙏
Partied till wee hours 4/20's eve and didn't get up in time to enjoy the Saturday morning line up with you fine folks... I'm still a little zooked out.
I saw that Bravestarr episode as a kid and was really disturbed by it. You watch a Filmation show, you expect safe but exciting action, the occassional moral lesson thrown in. He-Man had two different anti-drug episodes, but them killing off a kid and and in such a hardcore way. I think that Gargoyles gun safety episode is the only other cartoon that hits so hard, in fact I understand they even edited that episode a bit to make it not so horrifying. Though it was still horrifying afterward.
Man I wasnt lucky enough to be alive in the prime of Saturday morning cartoons, I believe I caught them on their way out, but from what I do remember, they were pretty awesome! I miss discovering new cartoons, both old and new, and I miss waking up early to watch shows like Sonic: Underground, Spider-Man, Dragon Ball, etc. At least my dad showed me the classics. My personal favorites being He-Man and Thundercats! In short thanks for uploading this, so I can watch all the shows I would otherwise have not watched!
As soon as I realized it was a drug PSA kinda Saturday and saw GI Joe on the schedule, I thought to myself "Oh god, it's gonna be that one episode from the garbage Dic run isn't it" lol. And sure enough, hah. Still, creative way to celebrate 420, keep up the good work man!
I could have Rachel Leigh Cook at a comic book convention 2018. I messed up, I would buy Punisher comics from myth adventures without a subscription. I need to go to a Kaboom Comics Convention with a mask. Winners don't use drugs.
I learnt about the drugs from that "GI Joe" two parter. Used to watch it a lot as a kid, so I have a lot of nostalgia and soft spot for it. Sure it is goofy and naive, but it is fun to watch. I especially love the background music and pairings of Joe/Cobra. Also there was "Rescue Rangers" episode with Monterey Jack dealing with his cheese addiction ("Mind your Cheese and Qs").
im taking drugs right now!!! 😅😂😂 then again its legal and legit nowadays, remember when we were criminals for smoking “the devils lettuce”?!😉😂😂😂 ah nostalgia 😂😂
@@OrbitalBacon At least it still has plenty of action. While animation is not as good as the original Joe it is still better than many American cartoons made during the 1980s.
kinda funny...we all these anti-drug psa....then along came rap music to do the exact opposite. "drugs are cool because all the rappers say so.".🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎🌎

Literally having friends over and making them breakfast just so we can enjoy this together.
Sounds like a good time!

That's what's up!

All good, it is ZOOK DAY after all.
This was a great video, truly some exciting moments
Glad you enjoyed it!
OMG!! I never realized these cartoons played a NO DRUGS MESSAGE. I was to young for drugs and never lived in a place that had them available. Wow..

The Tiny Toons had the one where they got boozed up too, so there is that...

These anti drug commercials are a jam when you're high as a kite
Lol right?
Mr T's gonna kick your ass fool
"Remember kids if you do drugs, you go to hell before you die... Please?" - Mario Mario as portrayed by Captain Lou Albano
Greatest quote ever!
I skipped 90% of bravestar till It stopped at finding the boy then I was like damn bravestar ain't afraid of going dark
A no drug themed compilation
I miss these cartoons (and commercials). This is an anti-drug Saturday special
It is 4/20 after all :)
Growing up in America watching these and now hearing a bad Aussie accent now that I live in Australia is hilarious.
I haven't seen this version of gi-Joe since I was a kid
Oh jesus lord, you started with THAT Bravestarr episode
the PSA by the kid's grave still gets me LOL

A lot of these episodes really stuck with me. It's wild to see how hard some of them went with the message lol
25:14 This becomes incredibly funny, if you picture those talking blue pills as a CERTAIN blue pill😮
Noooooooo! 😂
Is Cindi from GI Joe a Cobra ?
I forgot how hard Bravestarr went with this story
The 80's did not play around!
Bravestars actors were 30 year olds playing young kids lol
Viper
Let's go!!!
The controversial episode of Bravestarr.
Had to include it lol
Looks like He-Man has been on the juice.
He's gassed! Call Dr. Nash!
Sad Face.. I was at work. I missed out.. SWEET WATER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Let us not forget the reason for the season mein liebchens. 🎉
FETCH THE HERB! 🥓🙏
I got up on Saturday in the morning at 6
🥓🙏
Hello
Howdy
Oh man. The Zook was real 😂
We like ZOOK see!
I have one issue of ultra force
I had the action figure of Prototype.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I MISSED COPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...AGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
NOOOOOOOOOOOO! You missed CRIME FIGHTING TIME
im taking drugs right now!!! 😅😂😂 then again its legal and legit nowadays, remember when we were criminals for smoking “the devils lettuce”?!😉😂😂😂 ah nostalgia 😂😂
Yeah I was smoking stuff I got from the shop down the street while all the shows and ads were saying it was the GREATEST EVIL lol
why did they numbering change to the far future? 420 would be about 8 years from now
It was a joke because it aired on 4/20 and has all drug PSA's in it.
@@OrbitalBacon so 8 years from now will be druggy? Must be a hip thing like “gimme the 411”
But you forgot Double Dragon RPM episode
Had to save some for next year ;)
@@OrbitalBacon Okay 👍
It's time again ob
You better believe it!
Why does this one say 420?
It aired on 4/20 so it was a special edition full of PSA episodes and ads.
420. Nnnniiiicccceee....
Yeah buddy 🌲💨
Silly but slightly entertaining
Not bad for a toy commercial, to be fair.
The best we can hope for lol

What is this the anti-drug special.
It was the 4/20 special.
I think they wair pantyhose..
The animation of this version of GI Joe is not as good as the 1983- 1987 GI Joe.

DEE-ZANG!
It It's about drugs forget it.
Can you do the 1998 animated series "Monster Farm" up next?
I'll see what I can find.
Volume 420 starts with all the PSA's from my childhood 😂 must be a cultural thing. Here in Canada, we give fentanyl to 12 year olds.
I was this day old when I realized the chorus for Busta Rhymes “Dangerous” came from this commercial. Those blueberry pills dropped a banger!
LOL those pills had bars
420 🎉
