I'm here for all the hauls! Narita is great. It's such a nice way to wind down a Japan trip if you're not flying out of Haneda. So chill, great food, pick up all the last minute souvenirs, etc.
50 years ago, I was in Narita for over a day due to a delayed layover (guam to wherever in the states). Pan Am of course, the Best. Everybody was super nice but nobody went out of their way to help me. I was eight; they took me in a shuttle bus to a freaky hotel with vending machines I didn't understand; anyway they made sure to wake me up and get me back on the shuttle to the airport the next day. All I remember was looking at the vending machine, being hungry, and not understanding what they were trying to sell. Thanks!!
Hi, I'm a former SFO based f/a for AA (15 years). Just a heads up about Narita. You say Narita is "a chill town" and while I've never had any issues there myself, one of my very senior colleagues, based in SFO, who had flown NRT layovers dozens and dozens of times was stabbed multiple times and left for dead when she was out walking around the rice fields one sunny morning before pick up. When she didn't show up for pick up at the hotel (Hotel Nikko), crew tracking was notified, and eventually American reached out to local police (after they had the hotel check her room and found her suitcases and belongings still there), and they found out she had been violently stabbed multiple times and was in a coma in a hospital in Tokyo. Fortunately, for the woman (she was in her 50s at the time, and this was several years ago), a farmer working in his rice field found her body and called the local police. She was barely alive when they got there, but still breathing, and she was taken to a trauma center. Long story short, she was in a coma in a hospital in Tokyo for six months before she was medically stable enough to be flown back to SFO. Some senior F/As who knew her really well and flew with her often did go to the hospital to visit her on another layover, but she was still in a coma. This was a horrific, life changing attack. Her face was completely untouched, and he stabbed her torso trying to pierce her vital organs. Since this happened several years ago, most people in the airlines today don't know it happened, especially because she was in her 50s and most everyone who flew those SFO-NRT trips were super super senior (30+ years seniority), and they've all since retired, but I like to tell younger F/As who lay over in NRT this story because they never caught the guy who attacked her. They do believe the man who attached her was in his 20 because he was so strong and stabbed her so many times (which I'm told is quite physically demanding to accomplish). I'm not trying to scare you, at all, and I want you to go out and have a blast on your layovers because that is what makes the job worthwhile. I just also like to make other F/As...especially at other companies...aware that Narita isn't a place where you can relax and let your guard down because violent crimes against females DO occur there, especially with foreign females, and the NRT police seem to either lack the sophistication needed to catch the predator or they don't care because it was a foreign female and not a local who was attacked. I do love that 777 and the crew bunks, and I really miss those international flights and layovers now that I'm no longer a flight attendant. I don't so much miss those 14 hour flights, though, except maybe to CDG. lol Take care and best wishes to you~
Crew here. That's true. But often it's really nice to just go by yourself especially when everyone wants to do and eat something different! I have often sacrificed what I wanted to do or eat because the people you're tagging along with don't want the things that you want. So, I just normally go out by myself and I'm fine with that! 😀
I can’t believe how much energy you have after a long flight. I just to go to bed for a nap. Love your videos. Be safe m

Requesting a pack of green tea Kit Kats next time you go!!!
I will buy you whatever you want hehehe ❤️❤️❤️
On your 2nd flight, do you remember how many hours did you sleep on the plane?
Hopefully you get to spend time with a crew member at your destinations so that you don't have to be alone all of the time walking around.
