Sorry Stevie, I missed out on responding: It's a 1970 S2 with the Renault 1.5 engine. The engine isn't super radical, but has Fuego rods and oil pump which are beefier than the ones from a renault 17. High compression pistons, and an 807 crossflow head with dual Weber DCOEs. I've got a custom aluminum radiator, but it's still difficult to keep the engine cool in a race, especially in hot weather. Original chassis and suspension arms, with adjustable coilovers and upgraded sway bars. Bolt-in roll cage kit from Banks in the UK. Zagato-style bubble roof mod to give more head clearance. The project took around 4.5 years from finding the car as a basket case to getting it on a track. Any questions you had in particular?
What do I have to do to make my 1970 S2 sound like that!
Cross-flow head with straight piped headers, racing cam, 14:1 compression, and rev it past 7000 rpm :)
@@lukeb9433 Thanks. My 1565 cc ('Federal' Type 65) has only 38,000 miles, so I won't open it up yet. But when the time comes, I will remember this.
Nice...Tell us about the car please.
