Slash is good. Sometimes I get the idea that people find him overrated because he is the guitarist of a big group. And because of looking so iconic with that hat. "You like Slash because he looks iconic." These things people say to me. But no I like his style more than most other guitarists out there.
💯 Slash started standing out to me when I watched that Gun's and Roses live in Japan '92 and seen him playing some solo stuff as a kid and was like wow he can play on his own and has his own style like Jimi did! Have followed him ever since and love all his solo/Myles stuff!

The reason I took up guitar. Started off on drums as a kid in 5th grade . I found gnr through my older cousin. I saw live shots of Slash running around the stage and killing it. Guitar player ever since I'm now 42 and still feel like that young fan when u first got the experience. Ty Slash !!!!!
I saw G N R, back in the day, many people were saying he took 35 takes on Sweet Child of Mine, and shit. I saw him do a 20 minute (est) solo just like this and the crowd loved it. Slash is the real deal!!! He desires to own those Les Paul guitars, other peps would just waste them in the corner.
Slash is not underrated one bit. He is considered to be an amazing guitarist. Few can argue his technical ability isn't up to par. Well respected musician from peers and fans alike. He is given the credit he deserves in my opinion.
Now here a guy that knows the entire bible of music theory. Keep practicing kids. And you too can play augmented diminished 11th 9th and 😮Blues pentatonic perfectly.
Man, all the hating going on in the comments is taking a toll on my mental health. I was inspired by this guy. This solo is not his best work, but it’s not bad by any means. Slash is 👑 when he solos in the harmonic minor. Anastasia (specifically live in Sydney), is his best live solo, if you want to see him at his best go watch that. If you’re still not impressed by that then you dont want to like him or you’re expecting him to be like John Pettrucci or Paul Gilbert. He’s not overly technical or precise, but he’s a presence, and brings some serious shredding capacity to otherwise regular rock songs. Ill always love slash, and Ill openly admit he is not the most talented player. He’s unique though, and has more musical capacity than people give him credit for 🎩
to be honest,, the talent is in what he can project to the listeners.. and you do not become a household name (Good or bad) without having some kind of presence and talent. Its like I find Joe Bonamassa as boring as batshit to listen too.. but there is no doubt that guy has a gift when it comes to guitar playing. like so many others that we are all referencing..
I was never a big GnR fan and unfortunately Slash was guilty by association. But a saw him tear it up a few years ago and he can’t be denied. He’s 1000 times better without them. He’s the real deal a great musician 🎉😂😮🎉😮😂 gotta respect that.
I'd love to see Slash jam with the likes of Joanna Connor, Kingfish, John Bonamassa and other blues guitarists and maybe record a blues album with them. That would be freaking awesome and I would certainly buy that album.

To do a solo like slash that can go for like 20 min is great!! Try play a Les Paul that long whilst using 10guage strings and don’t forget, running up and down on stage with lights and the top hat that adds a extra weight even tho the les Paul is already like 10kgs extra 😂
I saw GnR at US Bank Stadium just 3 years prior, but honestly think this show was even better, despite them being older. US Bank Stadium sucks BALLS for concerts, due to reverb and echo issues, which makes sense due to stadium being designed specifically for "loudness" of football games, where "Clarity" isn't a concern, just as much noise as possible. But with this show being at Excel Energy Center, sounded 50x better! Now, am eagerly waiting to see Slash/Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators in Feb at Mystic Lake Casino! I've seen John Fogerty there about 5 years ago and due to small venue size, sound was EPIC! I'm sure this one will be badass!
I’m very surprised how much he gets done with only 3 fingers on the left hand. Todays highly technical players use the pinky finger equally to all the others. Not slash, pinky comes in about 10%
Who says he is overrated?.....He is a man with extraordinary music talent...❤
he doesn't just have talent, it comes straight from the god damn soul, like, the deepest part of his soul.
Half man, half beast
