Instructions unclear, brown sound resulted in unexpected defecation. Another great video man. Next request: techniques of using a vibrato bar "tastefully". I recently got a Floyd rose and all I can do is a few dive bombs..

I have a Katana and have struggled to get good tones out of it. Really excited to try these settings. Thank you!

Hey Toby! I truly believe that your thorough, practical approach for review/demo of gear will bring you great TH-cam success. In time, Views and Subscriptions will come. With success, you will have the opportunity to review free gear. My hope is that you will maintain your same ethos with free gear that you have with gear you've paid your own money for. You stand out in the review/demo world for several reasons: 1) You can play, and it's not obnoxious 2) You are a gigging musician 3) You take the time to present usable sounds 4) Your presentations show how gear can be used in the real world 5) You've actually used the gear in the real world! 6) Most importantly, you are trustworthy. With your approach, demeanor, and clear communication style, I can only believe that more success will come your way. Keep up the hard work! Thanks for what you do.

Your words are so very kind, thank you! I appreciate that you've picked up on my way of doing things with reviews/demos, it's good to know people enjoy hearing the perspective of a gigging musician, as apposed to a salesman.
Thank you for your continued support!

Great playing, the progression through shows you thought about the tones, and the fact it sounds tasty clean helps. Cheers

I would just like to say... I could listen to your music here for quite a while.
It's both calming, amazing and... just... woah. Keep playing, that is all!

Thanks for sharing these tones! I find the tip of using a consistent reverb setting on all patches very useful. I went back to my tones and did that. It's also very tempting to max out the bass knob, but your settings prove you don't need a lot of bass to sound great.

Thanks for sharing these great tones! Some of the best I’ve heard. It just goes to show that you don’t need a lot of bass or treble to get a great tone. Great playing as well. Subscribed 👍

Cool vid and nice production! Subbed. I recently got the Katana mkII 100 for home use and hopefully gigging & rehearsals in the near future. I was wondering how you got the same EQ and volume/output on all presets? Do you use some of the EQs in the tone studio or just the one on the amp? I am going to make 4 channels that I like for my home use here in quarantine. I often find myself spending too much time getting tones when practising. Would love to see more vids on the Katana
    Greetings from Denmark

      Hey, thanks for subbing! 🙂
As far as matching EQ on each channel, I just used the 3 band EQ on the amp and adjusted by ear till I felt it sounded close. I didn't use the extra EQ available in the software, but I'm sure that could be a great way to really match the channels up! 👍

Great vid, thanks. But i didn't get solo boost situation. So what do you press on GA-FC to activate the clean boost and delay?

    • @tobypearson7622
      @tobypearson7622 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for watching!
For the boost, I would press the 'effects' button on the far right of the Footswitch, then 'booster/mod'. The same goes for the delay but using the 'delay/FX' button instead. Hope this helps!

@@tobypearson7622 sure helps, thank you. Butt it looks like to play solo instantly you have to step on three buttons? Effects, then Boost/mod, then Delay...it seems to me a ling way to jump into solo mod ?
My thinking how to deal with my 50 Mkii... it's portable, much more portable then head+cab but effects management drawback..no GA-FC, at the same time weight of the amp is extremely important parameter for me.

Well alternatively you could use up one of your saved tone slots with the solo sound ready to use, instead of pressing the three buttons you refer to? It would mean you could access that sound easily, but you would sacrifice one of the saved tones to do that. Anyway, whatever you prefer! 👍

I run my head through a Marshall 1912 1x12 it's not a nice sounding speaker, so lve now changed to a 1936 2x12 which is wonderful sounding!! But a bit of a lump, I've also now got a 100watt combo, the speaker is brilliant, looking for a second hand one to try in the 1912 cab.
My JVM half stack is a bit lonely since I got my katanas!, I run clean crunch and lead tones on 1,2,3, buttons of the gafc and an identical lead tone on button 4 with pedal wah using the expression pedal into the gafc
I plug a little note book computer in to keep an eye on things, I also have the head face down so the knobs are more accessible, I've not had chance to gig the combo as the covid turned up
