They are the past. Do not mistake forgiveness for reconciliation. Lessons are meant to be learned and the knowledge is meant to be applied. Knowing better to do better is moving in and on purpose. You can't move forward going backwards and you can't fix what you aren't breaking nor should you try. Seeing people for who they truly are and treating them as such will only help and protect. Going back or allowing them back helps no one. Release them and allow them to understand that you understand as well. An apology is for them but if they felt passionate enough about something to disregard you there is no way that you should consider denying them of continuing to live in their truth. Let them go because time waits for no one and may they let you go without return as well.
