From my memory of watching this episode more than 20 years back, if I'm not mistaken, in the end the guy operating the computer and the computer become one, the ending scene of this episode was of one of the guy's monitoring cameras shifting focus to Mulder and Scully walking away for their next case indicating that it was actually the computer operator guy who was monitoring them walking away.
This scene was crazy. I remember when I first saw this I was sort of laughing when it got stuck and kept repeating it self. 29-30-30-29-30-30-29-30-30 My sister happened to walk in then and was wondering if the elevator was going to kill the guy, and I said probably. Later when my sister saw this she was claiming the 28th floor was the cookie 🍪 floor....if he would’ve gotten off there....he’d have been in heaven.
Man, this scene scared the crap out of me the first time I saw it. X files really does a good job at making this kind of content
This scene traumatized me as a kid.
