I make an Industrial Style Shelf Bracket, and bend Steel Rebar into a knot - MIG Welding Project

- I make an Industrial Style Shelf Bracket after bending the Steel Rebar into a knot to use inside the shelf bracket. I love the look of industrial furniture and all the decor that comes with it, and this shelf bracket has the look I like. A nice MIG Welding Project using rebar.
I hope you enjoy my video of the steel rebar knot shelf bracket project, it was a lot of fun to make. I did make other brackets exactly the same, so I could hang the shelves.
The main tools used were a MIG welder, angle grinder, drill, and bench vise.
The rebar is 12mm, Wide flatbar is 50mm x 3MM, Small flatbar is 32mm x 6mm. The shelf bracket size is 180mm x 180mm.
Heat makes the bending much easier and there is less chance of the rebar cracking or breaking, heat is basically your friend when bending steel. I am trying to use simple tools and not use heat unless I have to in many of my videos, so the rebar was bent cold with no heat treatment at all in this video.

Always use all the correct safety gear, and use your tools safely, I am not a good role model for this.
Hope you found something of use in my video or at least found it entertaining.

Note: When you bend metal/rebar, you naturally weaken it. Bending it cold will normally cause fine cracks, and it may even break if you put enough strain on the rebar or bend it in the same place too many times. Do not rely on cold-bent steel/rebar to support a load. - แนวปฏิบัติและการใช้ชีวิต
Gorgeous. I would 100% buy these from you. Well done!
Detailed comprehensive and complete video w/o much talking.
Pure example of a person who demonstrates his art and not himself.
Awesome 👍!!!
Thank you.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment.
Well said. I never trust a man who pats himself on the back. You let your work pat yourself on the back.
Sem falação, só mostra trabalho impecável
those hidden welds on the rebars made all the difference
You are not a metal worker, you are an artist mate!
Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment.
Now those are some of the coolest shelve brackets I think I have ever seen. Well done!
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it and I appreciate your comment.
Привет с Байкала 🤝 ну ты молодец. Я тебе обещал полочку сделать по твоим работам. А ты опередил и правельно. Голова просит новое а руки чудеса творят и душа поёт. Здоровья тебе и удачи в делах. 👍👍👍👍👍🤝🇷🇺

This was a true joy to watch. You are a craftsman who has mastered his trade. I worked as a metal worker for 15+ years both welding, using a drop hammer, handforming and heat treating parts for aircraft and truly appreciate your work. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you very much, I am glad you liked it and I very much appreciate your comment. Cheers.
Cool project! At first, you don't think much of the knot until you realize that metal isn't usually that bendy.
It's a great present for my father-in-law whose birthday is coming up. Thanks for the idea!
Dear Gavin, wow, what you do with lengths of steel is literally like twisting rope. I do like the idea of using a piece of tube as your former. Absolute precision. Well done.
Thank you very much, I appreciate your comment.
That’s not an answer
How about some measurements
@@lioneldegrace4369 In the description under the video are the measurements, here is a copy. The rebar is 12mm, Wide flatbar is 50mm x 3MM, Small flatbar is 32mm x 6mm. The shelf bracket size is 180mm x 180mm.

Amazing work. You’re a true craftsman… pulled out the file where so many of us would have went with the flap disc.. hid your welds, where most would have just welded the visible spots and you added a second layer when most of us would have thought, this looks tough enough.
You’re not just an amazing craftsman, you’re an absolute artist. 👏🏽
