    I do read the comments but cant find anything as to what thickness either the battery of motor will cut Also, what happens if you attempt to cut something too thick for the blades, will this ruin the blades?

    Hi,
    Just purchased the HLA66 AP300 and AL500, initial setup, do you need to give the batteries a long initial charge? Or are they good to go when display is showing as fully charged. Just wondered id they benefit from being conditioned first. Cheers Paul

    It's funny you mentioned the car analogy. I was talking to my brother the other day about the 66 and said almost exactly the same thing. great-mind or fool rarely differ? It seems that stihl has focused on making the 66 what the 65 should or could have been (as good as it is ) rather than push the envelope which is a shame. the balance and trigger improvement will be thought.

    Thank you for the perfect and first review for HLA 66.
    I see a light lifting in comparison HLA 65 the basic machine motor and knife system is the same.I prefer the ΗLA 65 i already have because it is 300 gr lighter from HLA 66, and i do not like the third safety switch where i have to constantly press one switch more when i start the machine.

    Just got one of these and the 86 with 2 ap300's and I can honestly say so far they are the dream, I wanted to avoid investing in petrol equipment and was absolutely overwhelmed by the battery equipment as there are endless products and battery ranges from different brands and I was skeptical about run times etc but I spoke to my local distributor, I got a decent price and on the job they really are decent in my opinion.

    I find ap 200 battery rubbish tbf ha! Well when used alongside 300 it doesn't seem to last long. But they are what they are. Suppose everything has its purpose! Looks well though! Don't think I'd have this though unless it was telescopic like the one that's already out whatever its called... which has been a game changer for me!

      Most major manufacturers offer a battery range of tools now.
      Your best option would be to visit your local dealership and see what machines they have - have a feel of the units and see which feels right for you.

    So you would still choose the HLA 65 over the new HLA 66? The 3000 strokes/min. should be the same. What about the Husq 520ihe3 in comparison? Better overall?

    • @TheFullyChargedGardener
      @TheFullyChargedGardener  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I would choose the 66 - the weight of the battery is better balanced with the new design.
      I am a brand ambassador for Stihl, which should answer your question about the Husqvarna 😉
      It is all down to personal preference 👍

      @@TheFullyChargedGardener Thx for replying so fast! Received it today, seems very smoothly designed, yet well build. Before I ordered I found the Husq in a shop nearby. Super machine but very fragile, to be reserved for the regular size of conifer. So for an individual it is better to take a more versatile and robust tool. Unless you want to have 2 meter wide hedges when you retire :). The hedge must keep its dimensions, on the film it is 2 or 3 cm missing. And on yew it is better to have a more robust machine. Thanks for video :)

I did break the gear housing on the husky with the gears popping out as it looks as if it’s metal cast, bottom plate cost me £50 the Stihl is plastic would say parts would be cheaper to replace. Overall would say they are pretty much the same hope this helps Ho and Stihl is slightly lighter too.
